《The Dark Star Emperors》Chapter 38: Threat to Deal With

As soon as they were done hugging, Mary grabbed her phone and put it away. She had no idea where the rest of her stuff was, but she didn't care.
As soon as they were about to leave, Mary remembered something.
"Oh, shit!" she yelled.
"What!?" both Jack and Yune exclaimed.
"The one that almost killed me," Mary said, "I almost forgot since I was so happy to see you girls."
"Oh, right. We did forget to ask you what happened. Were you fighting a Night Demon," Yune asked.
"No. I was fighting that Light Guardian girl. What was her name? Uh. The one with the tree daggers," Mary replied.
Yune said, "Hmm. I think that one was called Kira. Yep. Pretty sure."
"You were fighting one of them?" Jack asked Mary, "Why?"
"Well, things happened," Mary said, "And well, you could say that I instigated the fight with threats, but she was the one who actually started it with violence."
"What do you mean 'you could say'?" Jack asked angrily.
"Damn it. This is going to put a strain on our relationship. They can easily beat us in a fight and they already don't trust us at all. This is going to end badly. We might be able to talk with them, but I don't know..." Yune said worryingly.
Mary said, "That's not the real problem. She saw my transformation. She saw how my transformation was covered in shrouds of darkness. I don't know if she even thinks we're Light Guardians, anymore. She may think of us more as Night Demons than anything else."
The sun began to set.
"What did you say!?" Jack yelled angrily, "You're saying that they know what we are."

Yune thought calmly about the situation.
"I don't know," Mary replied, "But she saw my transformation. Even each of us thought that kind of transformation was strange for Light Guardians. And I may have even said some stuff while taunting her. I just don't know."
"Damn it!," Jack yelled.
Yune, however, was calm and collected. If Nina, Anne, and Kira knew that the they were beings brought to life by a creature of darkness, they would definitely think of them as enemies. All Yune thought about is what she would do in their place. She thought that Nina would never try to reason with something that could be considered as a Night Demon. And the only road led to killing three monsters. It was the most obvious choice and the only one she could think of.
As Jack panicked, Mary tried to calm her down by saying things like "Maybe, she didn't notice" and "Maybe, she thought it was just like any other transformation." But no excuse would calm Jack as her ears shut out all noise from the outside.
If Jack didn't know that Annie was at the city, then she would just leave. She didn't have any ill will towards these particular Light Guardians, although she didn't have high opinions of Light Guardians in general. And every time they fought against them, they lost. The first time Jack fought against them, she died. And the second time seemed even worse as their experience gave them strength. She didn't know how much time had passed, but it was enough to tell that they had grown.
As they wondered on their next move, Hades flew in from above as the sky suddenly turned dark.
"Hey. So, I do have some information that could help you on your decision-making, if you'd like it," Hades suggested.

Yune, Jack, and Mary looked at the owl and listened. They didn't trust Hades, but at this point, they all didn't know what to do. Should they run? Should they fight? None of them knew.
Hades coughed and said, "The girl, Kira, does know about your transformation. However, she didn't tell her two friends about it."
"Huh? Why wouldn't she? Does she not think it was strange?" Yune asked.
"Kira did think it was bizarre, but she was taking care of her boyfriend. As we speak, she's walking him safely home. She does plan on telling the other two about her... encounter. That will put a strain on things. And she will mention the strange dark aura that surrounded Mary."
"Damn it. What should we do?" Jack asked knowing they had limited time.
"I gave you the information. I won't decide what you should do with it. Do what you will," Hades said before flying away.
"What the hell? What a useless bird," Mary said as she waved her fist at Hades.
"So, any ideas?" Mary asked the other two.
"We need to stop her from telling Nina and Anne. If they have the slightest clue that we're not Light Guardians, then they will hunt us. And who knows how many others will hear about us," Yune said.
"Agreed. Now, let's go after her," Jack said as she began to run ahead, but then stopped in her tracks, "Anybody know where her house is?"
They called in the shopkeep and asked for where Kira's home was located along with the directions for the price of two black coins. He put the route on their phone's GPS and also gave Kira's exact location on the GPS after giving an extra black coin. They had no time to argue or haggle and could use any advantage.
And so, they transformed and dashed away towards Kira. What they planned to do however, none of them quite knew. The only thing they did know was that they needed to stop Kira from telling others about what they were.

Condemned
“The human body is a fragile thing. But the soul... The soul is malleable. Easily tainted. All it takes is one drop of blood to dye it all red.” Long ago, in a time remembered only by a few, the seven lords of Syvernia, led by the Great Hero Ludwig, ended the Great Calamity that plagued humanity for as long as time itself. It was the dawn of a new age of man. . . until the thirst for more poisoned the new lords. Slowly, the thread that held humanity together loosened and a thick haze consumed the lands between. Mysterious vanishings, supernatural forces, and silence warns of a looming threat inside the coat of fog. Though the struggle of the realms did not interest Leor, for he was condemned as a Purblight, until he took a seemingly simple job: escort Alden to Lightendale and collect the handsome reward, a reward that would let him live the rest of his life with ease. But it’s never that simple, especially for someone who denounced the Gods. All his life, death followed Leor everywhere he went, cutting down his friends and family. When his first love died at the hands of an agent of light, he was prepared to throw everything away until a mysterious voice promised him a chance for retribution and a chance to bring her back by completing the seven trials. Thrown into the realm's struggle against the approaching haze and themselves, will Leor, a Purblight and an acquaintance of tragedy, use the very power he disdains to accomplish his goals? This is the rewrite of my novel: Condemned; I changed it to past tense and added/ took out some ideas from the original. This is essentially the first draft since I'm writing as I go. Also, there might be or might not be Gore, Sexual, or Traumatizing content. I only put it there for a disclaimer in case I want to add it. I have no set release schedule yet, but I'll try to post once every 2 week. Thanks for your patience.
