《The Dark Star Emperors》Chapter 52: Breaking the Party

Jack knocked on the metal door. A slider opened to the utter shock of the bouncer as he stared down a metal giant with a mask only showing black-red eyes.
He screamed and feinted at the sight of what he would describe as a demon.
"Hello?" Jack called out, but the bouncer was completely out. There were other guards there with guns wondering what could have scared him. The bouncer was at least twice anybody else's size in the room.
Jack scratched her head and looked back at her companions to ask if they had any other ideas. But all them just raised their shoulders.
"Well, I guess we'll just go straight through," Jack said as she wound up her fist. One of the other guards went to open the slider to see who it was with his sidearm in hand. Then, as soon as he opened the slider... CRASH!
The door went flying open crashing through until it struck the wall.
Silence befell them for a few seconds. When the smoke cleared, Jack was in front of the group. A giant demon, the other guards thought. They screamed and shot whatever they had. The shots were loud and disorienting. They took out handguns and machine guns.
Jack instinctively raised her arms in front of her, but the bullets wouldn't pierce through her armor.
Then, without thinking, she charged forward roaring. The others jumped into the frenzy to help.
"Members of some gang? Doesn't matter. Don't kill any of them!," Jack yelled as she pummeled and threw them to the ground and at each other.
"Fine. Fine. No fun at all," Mary complained as she used her claws to merely cut their guns and use her elbows to knock them out. Then, she would dash around the room avoiding the shots.

"Stop complaining. Let's just beat these gangsters," Yune said while using her hook and chains to push and trip them around.
Then, Nina came in watching their hectic fight. There was so much going on that nobody could keep up. Bullets flied everywhere. Smoke was going everywhere. And the three girls were just winning among all the chaos.
"This is just getting ridiculous," Nina said with nothing much to fight or do. Then, one of the bullets began to come towards her, but she reacted faster than the bullet. Her blade deflected the bullet back at one of the men's legs. "Sorry," she said in a panic.
When the fight was over, the guards were all knocked out.
Then, more gang members in suits began to run up the stair with their guns.
Jack, Mary, Yune, and Nina all charged forward down as there was nowhere else to go. Jack was in front charging like a rhinoceros throwing and bashing through. All, the others had to do was follow and knock out anybody who wasn't fully knocked out as they came flying behind Jack's charge.
Then, they finally reached the bottom and found themselves amidst some kind of fighting ring with fancy dinner tables. The other gangsters and guards were all knocked out. They didn't think they killed any of them, but in the end, none of them cared to really check.
Then among the ring, there stood Anne standing atop of another more muscular and burly man.
"I was wondering what all the commotion was. I was expecting Nina, but not you three," Anne said as she looked at them from the ring, "What fun."

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!
