《The Dark Star Emperors》Chapter 73: The Original Three

Eli and Yune watched as Mizuchi walked towards them. They didn't plan to stop her if she decided to stay. But, from her own volition, Mizuchi walked away. She found her mother. The thrill faded away as disappointment set in even deeper. Nonetheless, she stood as tall as she could be.
"C'mon, Eli and Yune. Let's go back home," Mizuchi said.
"You sure?" Yune asked.
"Yeah," she said with a smile. Not a facade, but a real one. Rather than looking back, she decided to look forward.
"Alright, Mizuchi. We'll be right behind you," Eli replied.
"It's Mizu," she replied, "Call me Mizu. I'd prefer that."
Even though she always thought that name was reserved for her mother, she still thought it was a nice nickname. And it was a shame to let it go to waste.
Yune and Eli smiled alongside their new member of the family.
"Alright... Mizu," Eli said.
Yune chuckled again.
"What's so funny this time?" Mizu asked.
"Nothing. Nothing at all," Yune said as she thought how cute Mizu was.
Mizu pouted and walked ahead.
When they got outside, all three of them wondered where they ended up. Luckily, they were still in Janken City. They decided to take the subway to get back home.
When they did, each of them were scolded by Ms. Singh for sneaking out. But also luckily, she made their punishment very lenient. For the remainder of the week, the three were on toilet duty.
Yune and Eli were used to working for Ms. Singh on their own, but Mizu complained. She never did such manual labor. Nonetheless, the three girls worked together and finished their daily chores.
And that wasn't the end of it.
When Mizu got her powers, she continued to want to help people. Yune and Eli never felt obliged to, but when their new member went out, they too would join. It was only for around an hour or so. And with their new powers, it was very easy to sneak in and out from just jumping out of any window. They could jump higher than every before. Each time, Mizu tried reaching for the stars before she would gently land.

Everybody in the orphanage and at school thought of the each of them as sisters. But they felt even closer than that.
They went out each night to fight Night Demons and protect people from them. They even occasionally brought down drug and prostitute rings. They were like real super heroes. But they're troubles have only just begun.
One day, Eli had the idea to take a picture of the three of them as a keepsake. Yune held a camera up as she was the tallest and oldest among them. Eli hugged Yune closely. And there was Mizu having a smile that could brighten up any day. They all came close and with a snap, a picture crawled out from the old camera. They framed it and kept it by Eli's bedside who slept in between the other two whenever they were done patrolling the city.
As they fought, they began to gain the attention of one Night Demon. A hunter that sniffed out new prey. It knew that they were new at being Light Guardians from the scent. A creature that looked like a shadow of a werewolf. It followed the scent and found it's way back to where the three stayed. It howled in the night wagging it's tail in delight and then stare straight at the orphanage from above a rooftop. Easy Light Guardian prey, it thought. And that's all it could think of. It didn't care for the children, but just the scent of the new guardians.

Is It Too Late To Move My Lair?
A legendary dragon... It has been told in the stories for hundreds of years. Some say it keeps a mountain of treasure in its cave, some say it is a vicious beast, some say it protects the village nearby, some claim it can grant their wishes, and some just think it's nothing more than a fairytale. He is not. The dragon is very real, although he isn't bothered by what people think of him in the slightest. He also doesn't have a grand treasure, nor does he grant wishes, like a magical genie. He is not interested in eating humans either. And as for protecting them… well. This is the story of the time before the legends, how they came to life and a dragon in the quest of his snooze. In a nutshell, this is a simple, light-hearted story with a dragon in it. What I have in mind is a relatively short one compared to most of the works on this site, but we'll see where it goes. This is my first attempt at writing something like this, so please be patient and kind in pointing out mistakes. As for the posting schedule... let's say it will be sporadic. Hope you enjoy reading, as much as I do while writing it… THE STORY IS NOT DROPPED, JUST SLOW ON THE UPDATES. Cover art by Nane, aka me. (Cross-posted on Scribble Hub.)

The Rocky Shore
This is a LitRPG series. Every story you read here takes place in the same virtual world, with the same rules and limitations. Characters will travel, explore vast and dangerous realms, overcome obstacles, meet one another, enter into conflicts with one another, forge alliances, make horrible mistakes, and occasionally just die. A technological singularity has been achieved, and humanity has been trapped in a virtual world by a super-intelligent, self-improving artificial intelligence. This program is not malicious at all. In fact, it desires nothing except the happiness and fulfillment of every human it has copied into itself. If its decisions seem strange to you, that's only because its reasoning is far beyond ours. It recognizes that humans cannot be happy without enemies to overcome and goals to achieve, as well as the possibility of failure and death. The world it has created may be heaven or hell, depending on the free choices of the people it contains. The non-player characters who live in this realm have no idea that they are part of a vast computer system. They seem real enough, but there is no way to tell if they are truly self-aware. Even the system that created them isn't certain. This is world in which all the things that humans are used to dealing with in the abstract: skills, talents, knowledge, reputation, social status, morality, even love, exist as readable statistics that players can see and interact with objectively. This has many curious and complex effects on how people perceive themselves and the world around them. A few quick notes on the system: -Death is permanent -The system interface can only be accessed at certain locations. -Magic of diverse kinds is available and useful, but is not a good substitute for skills, physicallity, or mental prowess. Non-magical characters are common and competitive. -There is no inventory system. Characters must physically carry everything they wish to have on their person. -Healing is slow and difficult. Magical Healing is all but unheard of. Protagonists: Raymond Garrison- A man in his late twenties who used to work as a forklift operator in Idaho. His path leads him to work as a mercenary, protecting a small community of humans and goblins from the Seelie Fae who wish to exterminate them. Patricia Chandler- A elderly British woman who arrives in this new world with her grandson Kyle and her granddaughter Elizabeth. Never having dealt with rpg game mechanics before, she is in for a rough time, but she is determined to keep her grandkids alive in a world full of danger and evil. Jamil Mesbah- An Egyptian woman who once worked as a technical writer. Her path leads into a vast and hostile forest, where she must master both her magical abilities and her survival skills in order to succeed. Enjoy your travels, friends.
