《The Dark Star Emperors》Chapter 133: Afterstory Prelude

As Hydrapurge destroyed Janken City, Eli tried to get herself up. Everybody began disappearing one at a time. But her body was weak. She transformed into her Light Guardian form. A bright light enveloped her and she felt a surge of strength. She took off the tubes and equipment. Everybody had already disappeared leaving behind their clothes.
But even in her guardian form, she struggled to stand. She leaned against her yellow katana, and tried to get herself up.
Suddenly, as Hydrapurge shot out a bolt of lightning towards the hospital, a shadow came out from the darkness. A teenager or young woman hidden in a cloak and mask. She passed by Eli and went over to the window. The bolt of lightning came right at them, but the cloaked girl was quick. She raised her hand up and an orange portal came outside to meet the lightning before it touched the hospital. The bolt of lightning went straight through the portal, and the girl created another portal aimed upwards at the sky. The bolt of lightning came right out through the other. She could have redirected the lightning back at Hydrapurge, but didn't want to grab it's attention.
And as Eli watched, she realized who it was the moment she saw those portals. They were used differently, but they were the same kind of power.
But before Eli could say anything, she began to cough out blood.
The girl rushed over to her side and called out the shopkeeper. He appeared, and she gave him a black coin to heal Eli. And Eli's cough was gone, and she was able to stand.
"Relax. You'll be safe. We have to leave," the cloaked girl said in a dark voice. But covering up her voice did nothing.
"Mizu..." Eli said in surprise as she looked at the girl's black mask. She had orange irises and black scleras. There was also a symbol of a third eye on her forehead. She was different, but Eli knew who it was. She began to think it was a dream.

The cloaked girl said nothing. Eli then began to cough, again. Her legs gotten weaker.
"I'll carry you," the girl said normally as she held Eli in her arms. A portal appeared beneath the picture of the three of them and fell in. Then, the portal vanished.
The girl jumped out of the hospital and landed right on her legs. There was a motorcycle parked outside. The girl handed Eli a helmet and started the motorcycle. Eli got on the back of the cycle and held onto the masked girl.
"Hang on," the girl said as she drove away. She drove fast and made sure that Eli was safe. And when she left Janken City, she kept driving without looking back. Eli had many questions, but she began to drift away. She was tired and just slept on Mizu's back. And as she slept, Eli still thought it was a dream - a pleasant dream.
The girl made sure that Eli didn't fall off by creating a portal with a golem's hand coming out of it and gently holding onto Eli. As she moved, so did the obsidian golem hand holding Eli in place.

A System Apocalypse Fan Fiction I started reading Litrpg about two years ago. I fell in love with Tao Wong's System Apocalypse series. He is an excellent writer and I loved his world building, but when the second series arc went elsewhere It kind of lost me a little. I wanted to create a little parallel world that was very familiar to his fans but skewed off in a different, darker direction. If you haven't read Tao's work, you're missing out! Look him up on Amazon and read The System Apocalypse. One of the best in the genre.
