《Airant》The First Time I Faced A Boss!

I exploded in a flash of light. The cave lit up completely, golden waves washing everything away. A bat I didn't even see on the ceiling was blown away.
20 EXP obtained! Proficiency reached, skill Mighty Blows obtained.
W-what just happened? Did I unlock a power up form? I’m sure my hair was golden for a second there. If I start screaming can I do it again?
"AHHHHHHH." I screamed.
…
Nope didn't work. I guess it was a one time thing. Maybe it was because I leveled up? That's weird. Shouldn't it just be a normal thing? Well it was cool and that's all that matters.
Oh, I wonder what my stats are now?
Skier. Level 2. Exp 20/200. Beginner, Head: Empty, Chest: Chosen’s Cloth Shirt, Legs: Chosen’s Pants, Shoes: Chosen’s Boots. Weapon: Small Shortsword, Off hand: Empty.
120/120 HP, 60/60 MP
STR 16, INT 13, DEX 16 LUK 15 WILL 12.
It looks like my STR and DEX increased the most. Probably because I leveled up Reversal and Power Strike. Luck went up a decent bit too. What about my INT though? I'm a smart kid!
Oh, I do have a free stat point apparently. I dump it into INT. I'm feeling smarter already!
With that settled, I continued my adventure.
Eventually, after vanquishing a few foes (How do you spell vanquish?) I came across a massive set of double doors. Weird designs were on them. They looked like something out of a magic book, or those weird decorations my neighbors like to put up for Halloween. On top of that, there was also massive chain, locking the doors up completely. The heck? How am I support to get in then?
I put my hand on the door and tried yanking the chain.
Level 2+ Area. Requirements achieved. Opening area…

The chains fell with a massive boom. Wow, I am strong! Some dust collected as the doors opened up seemingly on their own.
Now that was spooky. Who opened them? Was it a ghost? I felt tense. This didn't seem good. I took my sword and held it ready for any oncoming threats.
I entered the room, it was large, much larger than the rest of the cave. Oddly evenly square and flat, the complete opposite of the rough terrain I was on before.
Terraaainnn. Fun word!
I approach the middle of the room. There's nothing here! No ghost or anything! Where’s the dumb pendant so I can complete thi-
A massive spider fell from the ceiling. The shock of its landing knocked me over. Yikes!
It’s million eyes started at me, saliva dripping from its mouth as it approached me, I quickly got up and readied myself.
Seeing that I was ready to fight back, the spider rushed me. It’s fang bearing and ready to chomp on my head! Too bad though, since I got you now!
"Reversal!"
Spinning in place, my whirlwind struck the spider… but that was it. It wasn't knocked back like every other foe I've faced so far. It's attack wasn't stopped and bit me straight in the arm.
My hp lowered by quite a bit, a fourth of it is gone in one strike! Worse, it wouldn’t let go either!
I took my sword and struck again, right between the eyes! It let go of my arm then.
Alright you wanna play like that? Watch this!
"Power Strike!" My sword glowed and sliced it's leg, the spider crumbled on my blow. Ha! Take that! Once more!
"Power Strike! Power Strike!" I ran around the beast, slicing each leg off. It tried to attack back but I was too quick for it to reach me, It's HP dropped as I did so until it reached half!

I hopped back. It was dead in the water now, half the amount of legs, half the amount of HP. I just need to take it down with another good blow!
As I ready another Power Strike, the spider stood on it's remaining legs and shot a web out towards the ceiling. It attached itself and quickly rose.
What? That's not fair! Cheating! Cheeeattting!
The spider shot web out its mouth, balls of web hitting me, entrapping my legs that slowed me down.
Grrr… How am I gonna get it now? It's so high up!
I racked my brain for a moment before the solution came to me.
I picked up a stone on the ground,
"Stone Toss!" I tossed it with all my might! The stone glowed blue as it launched from my hand and hit the spider square in the face!
The spider lost its grip from the ceiling and fell back down, it lost another chunk of its HP, leaving it with just a sliver of health. This is my chance! I cut myself from from the webs and charged up my Power Strike.
I leap into the air and struck the spider, my blade entering it's flesh for the final time.
200 EXP obtained. Power Strike Proficiency reached, Rank increased to D. New skill derived from Power Strike. Finishing Leap obtained.
Level up! Skier level 3!
I exploded in another flash of light. This one was powerful enough to knock me away from the body and into a nearby wall.
Cool!

Blood Seekers -- The Monolith
Blood Seekers - Book 1, is now on Amazon, including the final chapters not posted here! https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07MYJ5ZRC “You will die!” That's what the developers of Blood Seekers promised them... The most challenging MMO ever created—that’s how they advertised it. Taglines like, “Not your granddaddy’s game,” and, “Only for the hardest of the hardcore,” had gamers going crazy. Set in a gothic, Lovecraftian world, with fully realized A.I. NPCS, gamers were desperate to get their hands on the new game and dive in, and Clay was one of them. It was going to be tough, but he was ready for it. What he wasn’t ready for, was countless players having their minds hijacked and being transformed into mindless, hostile creatures filled with nothing but hate who killed anyone on sight. They called them the Bloodless. Clay’s best and only friend, Rey, moved across the country she was twelve, but they kept in touch online, playing countless games together, and when Blood Seekers was released, they were both ready to step up to the plate and face the new challenge together. But now, Rey has been taken by the plague, her mind held hostage as one of the Bloodless. A mysterious black monolith has appeared at the center of the highest level zone in the game, a place no one has even come close to. Some say it will provide us with answers. Others say it will only lead to more questions. Who’s behind all this? Why are people’s minds being taken? Will we ever get to bring them back? How many more will be lost if we stay logged in? Nothing is certain, but if there’s any chance that reaching the monolith will bring Rey back back, then Clay will do everything he can to reach it. This is Book 1 in a new series from Stephen Roark! I will be posting chapters here until the book is done and published on Amazon!

Tales of the Willful Autonomous Nanobot Generator
Due to over-engineering and poor parenting; a nanobot generator is sent into the wider universe, ready to solve any and all problems...though probably not the way that was intended, or even hoped for. This story is a first time attempt to use a literary device I came up with, where I use 4 randomly selected songs to write short stories. As such there really won't be any cohesive story thread between chapters. If this gets traction, the likelihood for reader polls to influence the next story are high.

The Meaning of Life
It all started with that voice. One day, a slightly psychopathic teenager named Krey heard a voice in his dream. A goddess's request, a new world, the legacies of the Divine realms, the never-ending storms in the world of Salratia. With the carefree thought of "I shall live as I please~!", Krey sets out to begin his 'otaku' dream. But it is not smooth sailing. Troublesome divine entities, mortal politics and the relationship with his new companions. How could he, a former assassin and former odd-jobs part-time high school student worker (not to mention an otaku), a perfect example of a loner (though he himself doesn't seem to realize it) be able to handle this problem? "Ei! Whatever, there's still a few more centuries! I'll go travel the world in peace!" [Author here. This is my first time writing a story in RRL. Criticism is very welcome as long as it is educational and has some tips and bits of advice for me. I am still learning]
