《Gabriel "The Bastard Son"》Shadow Stone

After the battle with the Raiju, Gabriel and Mak took off for the airport, after what Gabriel did to Tamika and Asano, the two remaining onmyoji students, he couldn't stay for too long, even if there were only four in that group they mentioned that they were part of a massive organization that takes care of supernatural problems...
Gabriel-What time is the flight?
Mak-In one hour.
Gabriel-I see.
Mak-I just hope that the onmyoji are ok.
Gabriel-I just cut off one finger, she will live.
Mak-That's not what I meant, I am afraid that we might get in trouble.
Gabriel-I'll crush them as well.
Mak-Quite full of yourself, aren't you?
Gabriel-These people don't have the stomach to chase us, I figured that much from the talk with Tamika.
Mak-True, they don't have any reason to chase after two nobodies that just bullied a couple of their students.
Gabriel-I wanted to fight an actual onmyoji though.
Mak-Don't be fooled by the student status, Tamika wielded some serious power, chaos energy isn't something to laugh at.
Gabriel-It didn't seem to do much against the Raiju.
Mak-I didn't see the fight, if I have to guess I think that Tamika's Source wasn't that powerful.
Gabriel-Source?
Mak-Remeber when I said that espers have vessels, basically like an energy source.
Gabriel-Like a mana pool?
Mak-Something like that, the Source isn't actually a battery, think of it as a capacitor, it's the means to release that energy, even if the energy source is massive when it comes to damage the way you release it is the main aspect.
Gabriel-And Tamika couldn't release much of it?
Mak-Yes, unlike an espers vessel, it doesn't absorb energy from the surroundings and unleash it at command, it's a mean to unleash already stored energy, Tamika may have been able to release chaos energy and the place she took it from was probably endless.
Gabriel-Endless?
Mak-Yes, she claimed that her power source was a god after all.
Gabriel-Yes...
Mak-The only problem was that she couldn't harness too much of it.
Gabriel-Hm...What about me?
Mak-What about you?
Gabriel-How am I using energy?
Mak-Most beings use their own energy like stamina, you get tired after too much use and have to rest to regain it, if you ask about you specifically, I don't have an answer.
Gabriel-I see. Good night.
Mak-Are you going to sleep?
Gabriel-Wake me up when the plane is about to take off.
Gabriel lied at a couple of chairs at the airport and Mak was thinking about what Gabriel did, he couldn't comprehend the fact that he actually beat Tamika and Asano to gain their knowledge and power, he was always concerned about Gabriel's mental health but this reaches another level, if he thinks that he can gain everything by force then that would pose serious problems, as of now, they have operated in the dark, they haven't caused any issues for anyone to come after them, if Gabriel repeats this incident a lot then they will draw a lot of unwanted attention.
The flight was about to take off, Mak woke Gabriel up and they got aboard the plane, Gabriel fell back to sleep since the trip home would take hours, since they still had a couple of days until the binding spell was to break, Gabriel didn't feel any need to worry about it, Mak fell to sleep as well, he decided to forget about this incident and then another problem came up, about now Kevin would have noticed that they didn't bring the car back. The would have to worry about that when they

arrive home. They woke up as the plane was landing, after they got off, they made their way to Kevin's house...
Gabriel-We are back!
Carmen was at the kitchen cooking dinner, Kevin as soon as he heard Gabriel run out of the lab...
Kevin-Where is my car!?
Gabriel-Crap.
Mak-There is a good explanation, Gabe tell him.
Gabriel-It's not my fault! Mak drove after the Shinigami and after the fight broke out it destroyed the car.
Kevin-Why was my car there?
Mak-I had to follow Gabriel, he is too fast to follow by foot and I had to be close to cast the binding spell.
Carmen heard the voices and came by at that moment...
Carmen-Welcome bac...
Kevin-Not now Carmen, please. That's another thing you idiots have lost! Why do I ever let you take my stuff?
Mak-Because it's necessary for the mission?
Kevin-Mak go do the dishes, Gabriel clean the garage, since there is no car there, I will turn it into something else.
Gabriel-Can it be a bedroom? I am tired of sleeping on the sofa.
Kevin-Maybe, depends on how good a job you do at cleaning.
Gabriel-Something good came out.
Mak-What? I am gonna have to do the dishes and you have to clean the garage.
Gabriel-At least now I can kill that bastard.
Kevin-Yes, what happened in Japan? Did you guys find the onmyoji? Did they teach you?
Gabriel-Well...
Mak-Yeah! We found them at a shrine nearby the school dorm, they were happy to help us.
Gabriel didn't actually feel any guilt about what he did but he went along with Mak and kept it a secret.
Carmen-Dinner isn't ready yet though...
Mak-That's ok Carmen, Gabriel and I will go finish off our job with the Shinigami and then come back to eat all together.
Kevin-Then you will do the dishes.
Mak-Isn't that a little hard? We might actually get hurt fighting the Shinigami.
Gabriel-There is no need to worry, I can handle that bastard with ease.
Mak-What the fuck is wrong with you? I was hoping to get out of doing the dishes!
Gabriel-No, it's your fault for bringing the car there in the first place.
Mak-What would you have done if I wasn't there?
Gabriel-Fight it until you were there.
Mak-I should have let Koma slice you with his scythe.
Gabriel-Whatever, let's go ugly, we have a Shinigami to kill.
Gabriel and Mak left for the forest, once they got there they saw exactly what they expected, Koma was still bound in place, if anyone would have come by then probably there would have already been an uproar, Mak signed at Gabriel that he was about to break the markings on the ground and undo the spell, Gabriel got ready to unleash the chaos energy, as soon as Mak broke the spell, Koma has begun to move...
Koma-I am free!
Gabriel-Yeah.
Koma-I told you that your puny spells could not contain me, mortals.
Gabriel-Do you have any idea how long you were in there?
Koma-What?
Gabriel-Why am I even talking to you?
Koma-Are you ready to die?
Gabriel-Are you?
Gabriel raised his hands and a shape of a mouth with sharp teeth formed from the chaos energy, Koma saw it and froze, he knew at this moment that this attack would pose a problem...

Gabriel-"Chaos Bite".
The mouth reached all the way to Koma and the teeth carved into him, the chaos energy had no problem dealing damage to a spectral being, even if Gabriel didn't use an actual onmyoji move, the chaos energy itself was able to completely destroy
Koma, once the mouth closed on Koma, it exploded leaving behind a small crater on the ground, the ground was as if burned by fire and at some places small black flames burned like candles, Gabriel looked at Mak and gave him a thumbs up...
Gabriel-I killed him.
Mak-Yes you did, that was easy, I guess with the proper technique it really is easy.
Gabriel-Let's go back...
At this point the ground started shaking, a couple of meters away the ground cracked and something started to come out, something like a rock, a tall black rock with red markings on it, Gabriel and Mak looked at it interested, they thought that
it might be one of Koma's attacks but it wasn't, it was an obelisk...
Gabriel-What the fuck is that?
Mak-It looks like a monolith.
Gabriel-Did Koma do that?
Mak-No, I don't think so, did you do that?
Gabriel-Well, I don't have much experience with chaos energy but I didn't try to erect a monolith from the ground.
Mak-Let's go near it.
Gabriel-There are some red markings on it.
Mak-It's Latin, it says: Here lies the essence of shadow, Nefaris.
Gabriel-What?
Mak-There is more: This is the prison of Nefaris, the shadow lord that walks in the night, he who commands the darkness.
Gabriel-Prison?
Mak-This is a Shadow Stone, it is used to invoke elementals, this Nefaris guy must be a shadow elemental.
Gabriel-Ok...Should I break it?
Mak-No, there is no reason to break it.
Gabriel-Will the elemental go free?
Mak-No, this might prove useful, we should let Kevin know about it.
Gabriel-Ok, let's go back.
Mak-Wait, I will cast a large scale Glamour spell, it will prevent anyone from coming all the way here and messing with it.
Gabriel-Why did that thing come out of the ground?
Mak-Chaos energy is similar to shadow energy, I guess that the chaos energy blast you shot forced it to appear, it must have been buried for decades.
Gabriel-You are right, Kevin might want to take a look, do your thing and let's go back.
Mak-Sure.
Mak cast the Glamour spell to secure the monolith and they went back to Kevin's place, Carmen had dinner ready, Gabriel and Mak joined Carmen and Kevin at the table and begun to eat, there was no reason to ask about the Shinigami, if they are back, it clearly meant that the job was done, Kevin was also mad about his car so he didn't even talk to them, Mak then mentioned the strange thing that happened...
Mak-Kevin, while Gabe took care of Koma, something came up.
Kevin-What?
Mak-A monolith appeared from the ground, apparently, it was burried there and the chaos energy that Gabriel used forced it to the surface.
Kevin-What kind of monolith?
Mak-A monolith dedicated to a shadow elemental, I figured that some research will make you feel better about the car so I told Gabriel not to break it so that you can study it.
Kevin-It would be fascinating to study it, very thoughtful of you Mak but you are still doing the dishes.
Mak-Fuck.
Carmen-Come on Mak, don't swear at the table.
Mak-Whatever.
Gabriel-Is that why you didn't want me to break it?
Mak-More or less, elemental monoliths were used for mortals to form contracts with said elemental, apart from that, it's just a rock, there isn't any reason to even worry about it.
Gabriel-I see.
Kevin-Tomorrow morning, you and I will go take a look at it.
Mak-Why me?
Kevin-I need you to undo the Glamour spell.
Mak-Sure, maybe then...
Kevin-No.
Mak-Fuck.
Carmen-Mak...
Mak-Right...
Gabriel's job is over, after a long trip to Japan he was able to take care of the problem, even if his method was unorthodox he didn't care, he did what had to be done and by him that's all that matters, as Mak said, the onmyoji group wouldn't go after someone who just bullied a couple of students and there isn't any way to find them now that they are outside of their zone of influence, for the time being, everything is calm again and Kevin has taken some interest to the Shadow Stone that Mak said, people died at the hands of this Shinigami and at the hands of the Raiju back at Japan but Gabriel didn't even give it much thought, he wasn't concerned at all, the same can't be said for Mak who has been thinking about Gabriel's doings, there probably was another way to deal with their problem, he thought that maybe they could find another group and ask them for teaching, if Gabriel wouldn't blow it with his words then Mak would probably be able to convince them to help, they had a couple of days to locate another group and maybe they could even ask the onmyoji students about it and find it easier but Gabriel had other things in mind, he was angry by the stance that they took when he told them about the
situation and he decided to take what he wanted by force, for now, they are enjoying their dinner and tomorrow Kevin said that he wanted to take a look at the monolith, as for Gabriel, he has the day free...
