《NEVER JUDGE》Chapter 10

“Why, if it isn’t Mrs. Reyes, what is it like marrying a man that earns less than you?” Lorisa asked, mocking Adrianna.
“It’s been a while Lorisa.” Adrianna said, refusing to engage.
“What are you doing here Adrianna? Your husband can’t afford to take you out to eat here. I’m pretty sure your family wouldn’t approve for you to spend so much on a meal here.” Lorisa continued to try to get a reaction out of Adrianna. Adrianna however refused to entertain her childish tactics.
“If you have nothing good to say Lorisa, I’ll go on my way. Have a good day.” Adrianna immediately left the women’s room and returned to their room.
“There is an annoying fly here today.” Adrianna commented to Cedric. He raised his eyebrow in response.
“I saw Lorisa De Jesus in the women’s room just now.” Adrianna complained.
“You’re a thousand times prettier and smarter than her.” Cedric said pinching her chin and giving her a light peck on the lips. He found Adrianna adorable when she was mad or jealous.
“It’s almost time to get back to work, shouldn’t you get the bill?” Adrianna asked.
“It’s already been paid for.” Cedric confessed.
“Please tell me you didn’t have to borrow money for us to eat here?” Adrianna asked suspiciously.
“No, definitely not. We just have to sneak out the bathroom window.” Cedric joked.
“I’m serious Cedric. Where did you get the money to pay for this.” Adrianna was worried about how they could afford to eat lunch there so casually.
“I told you, I got a promotion. Plus I saved up for us to have a good meal.” Cedric did get the biggest promotion you could possibly get. He suffered for thirteen years for him to get here and he wasn’t going to waste any time pampering his wife.

“Alright I guess that makes sense.” Adrianna tried to convince herself to believe Cedric’s explanation.
“Before I forget, I got part of my inheritance today. Here, my parents put this aside for my future wife.” Cedric handed Adrianna the bank card his father had prepared for her.
“Cedric, you need this more than I do.” Adrianna refused to take the bank card.
“Adri, my parents wanted you to have this. Please take it. I’m sure they would feel bad if you didn’t.” Cedric wasn’t lying, his mother would feel sad if Adrianna refused the money, they had a lot of it.
“Alright. Let’s go back to the office.” Adrianna said hooking her arm on Cedric’s. Before they exited the restaurant, Cedric called the manager over and whispered something to him. The manager simply nodded and the couple left.
In the elevator, Adrianna couldn’t help it and asked Cedric what he told the manager.
“I told them they had a cockroach problem.” Cedric simply said. Leaving Adrianna more confused than before she asked him.
At the 15th floor, the manager of Nouveau approached an exquisitely dressed couple.
“Miss, are you Lorisa De Jesus?” he asked.
“Darling, someone must have been in awe of your beauty that they decided to give us a treat!” Lorisa’s self absorbed husband, Anton Cruz said.
“Oh, I’m flattered Mr. Manager.” Lorisa said, pretending to be humble.
“No miss. I’m here to inform you that according to our owner you are banned from ever eating at Nouveau again. Please settle your bill and leave the premises immediately!” The manager said handing the couple their bill.
“This is nonsense! We’ve been coming here for a year now and you are banning us!” Anton said, furiously.
“It’s instructions directly from the owner sir.” The manager calmly answered.

“Where is this owner of Nouveau? He must be some new rich chef!” Anton continued to shout.
“I’m sorry sir but Mr. Reyes is a busy man.”
“M-m-mr. Reyes the owner of R Tower?” Anton stuttered.
“No sir, Mr. Reyes his son, heir to Reyes Group. Sir, if you refuse to leave I will have you thrown out. You would of course first need to pay for what you ordered.” The manager explained.
“The food here isn’t good anyway!” Lorisa complained as she handed her card to the manager.
The manager swiped the card and told them to leave. Of course other socialites were eating at Nouveau and witnessed the scene Lorisa and Anton had caused. News quickly spread that the Cruz couple was thrown out of Nouveau.
“That Adrianna, I saw her today and she brought me nothing but bad luck!” Lorisa complained as they were escorted out of the tower.
At the ground floor of R Tower, Adrianna and Cedric happened to witness as Lorisa and Anton were being escorted out by security. Adrianna couldn’t help but wonder what had happened.

Unliving
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon, November 2021] For the longest time, Aideen Fiachna had only one prescient wish; to be the daughter her parents could take pride in. The idea was a tall order, especially as her father stood at the head of the Templar order, and her grandfather as the Pope. However, she endeavored to try nonetheless. Yet fate had a different path in store for her. For all her efforts, all her best laid plans, were but the broken off crumbs of 'one day'. That day, she was brutally slain by a vile, accursed undead being. Though, not even restful eternity awaited her in death. She awakened inside a coffin. Her coffin. During her own funeral wake. Discovering, to her horror, that she had risen. Not somehow resurrected, no, but back in the form of that most hated of beings--the curse of undeath. What will fate deal her next? Chapters will range from 1-2.5k words, scheduled for release every day from Monday to Friday. --------------------------------------- Expect: -Character progression in a journey of self discovery that spanned the ages -World building -Tragedy and Comedy in roughly equal measures -Occasional action Do not expect: -Much in terms of romance -Politics, barring passing views and mentions -A lighthearted tale. This story will be a good bit grimmer than my previous one Any comments, reviews, and criticism will be much appreciated. And thank you for reading. --------------------------------------- Disclaimer: This story is my original work and only posted on the Royal Road website. Papercuts to Fell Immortals
Qing Shen is a girl from the counrtyside, forced into a role she never wanted by a Young Master who's infamy is spread throughout the land. As a Cultivator in the path to immortality, Qing Shen has to deal with her own problems as well as the mysteries surrounding her Young Master. Things, however, are not as they seem, and the young girl finds that sometimes the truth is more unbelievable than the lies we often follow. . . . If you want a less hidden-meaning summary: This story is about the struggles of one girl as she tries to become an Immortal. There won't be any meaningful romance, but there will be a plot that spans most of the story, and violence. Oh the violence! I'm not going to say that my ideas are 100% original (because hoo boy are there a lot of Wuxia), but hopefully I can write something entertaining. Guaranteed things: 1. Cliche events with a twist (I mean, it's literally in the description) 2. Important Characters will have backstories and motivations that will hopefully make them not one-dimensional (honestly, that's just normal stuff...) 3. Untrustworthy characters (everyone in the story lies, even me, so don't trust everything you read... but at the same time, trust everything you read) 4. Goodish grammar (not gonna say mine's the best, but it's readable in most cases) 5. Plot! (Everywhere!) 6. worldbuilding? (Should be there somewhere, but I probably won't do blatant info dumps... probably) 7. Character development? (Its there... at some point...) 8. The story gets dark at some points (if you don't like characters dying, then this might not be your cup of tea) 9. A strong main character? (She'll be strong, yes. However, her enemies are also strong. If everyone is strong, then is she no longer strong? My brain hurts) 10. Wow, this list is going on for awhile... uh, Believable and reasonable Action? (I mean, I'm writing for mainly my fun, so if I want a fight scene, then I might craft a scenario to explain it... or I might suddenly throw in a Dragon and call it a day) This story also goes by the same name over on Webnovel.com, but I'm going to be updating it here because, well I want to. They are both by me, and created by me. If there's anything that seems like a copy of another work, then that's just the genre being saturated by everything under the sun.

The Book of Hickory
Now why did Hickory go and punch that Angel? Sure it spooked him, popping up right there at lunch, and yet, it wasn't fear that balled his hand into a fist - Cause wouldn't you? Wouldn't anyone - with a sick Ma at home, Da long dead, buried, all them prayers piling up on bruised knees, unanswered? Hickory was angry, all right. He was fierce, now - cause that Angel didn't show up to give no help, that Angel came by asking for it - with all that power just plain to see, the power to fix the world and all that ails it! And now look what poor Hickory has to do - to save the world? Now how is he supposed to do that when its taking near everything he's got - just to keep them chickens safe, Ma fed, and himself out of trouble - All he wanted was maybe just a dance with May, maybe a bit more, to hold her close? That she's sweet, now, a voice like an angel, but now she's over there lookin at him like he's more than a man. And that's not to say Hickory is bad, not all the time, not ever on purpose - just there are things a man has to - That drinking and fighting ain't wrong just as long as the chores are done proper first, that those parts of life that make it worth living ain't no sin, that loving a lady is proper and Hickory just has so much love to give! And May is special, right, sweet and soft, now she's sophisticated. That she wears her passion like a pearl necklace? That certainly Hickory would notice, naturally - that she's already spoken for, perhaps taken? That ever since Hickory came back, that all she can think about is swallowing - those strange feelings, because it wouldn't do, would it? For a Lady? But certainly she can worship him and still be seen with Weston Covanger? Because Weston needs May, that what happens in the Study is only half the battle, the Men's Business, and he's far too proud to settle for half of anything. That if he wants to move up the ranks of his family, to be more than a Covanger, to become the Covanger? He's going to need a woman in the Kitchen as well - he's going to need May. And if that seems a bit old fashioned? A bit too much like the Wild West? Well the West is starting to get wild again now that everyone starts to Drink. A different take on LitRPG where answers aren't given - they must be earned, discovered and fought for, one at a time. An orator style, a long read, filled with magic buildings, crafting, alchemy, but most of all - This is a story about the human spirit. About understanding what defines a person, their morals, their beliefs, and also faith when everything they understand becomes challenged - changed. So do they. People can change. They will. Just not always for the better, not always - sometimes. Sometimes that's enough. Sometimes that's even everything.
