《NEVER JUDGE》Chapter 38

At the Bamboo Room, Adrianna was led to one of the tables with a view. The VP of Elisia Mall was already there when she arrived.
When he saw her, he immediately stood up and welcomed her.
Adrianna was a bit surprised as only important persons were greeted that way.
“Sir, why did you call for a meeting?” Adrianna asked once they were done ordering.
“Madam, I’m here on behalf of my boss.” The VP said standing up. He knelt on his knees and said in a loud voice. “My boss, the president of Mor Co. and the heir to the Reyes Group would like to seek your forgiveness.”
His actions quickly drew the attention of everyone in the restaurant, there were socialites, actors, politicians, and businessmen. They were surprised to see an executive of the Reyes Group, on his knees, asking the forgiveness of this woman on behalf of the heir to the whole company.
“Isn’t that Adrianna Hernandez? Did you hear the recent rumor about her?” Someone in the crowd whispered to their companion.
“What’s going on? I’ve never heard of the Reyes Group asking for anyone’s forgiveness, surely someone as powerful as they would have no need to apologize to anyone.” A businessman whispered. Aside from curiosity they were also envious that the Reyes Group was apologizing to someone.
“Miss Adrianna, my boss is truly sorry that rumors have tarnished your name because of people that want to create issues about him.” The VP explained, still on his knees.
“Please, sir, get up. There is no need for this.” Adrianna said as she tried to help the VP get back up on his feet. “Sir, I don’t even know what rumors you are talking about.”
“Miss, you really don’t know?” The VP asked as he fixed his suit.

“I really don’t, sir.”
The pair took their seats. Everyone around them remained silent, eavesdropping on their conversation.
The VP of Elisia Malls took a deep breath and proceeded to tell Adrianna about the rumors the way Cedric had instructed him.
“Miss, it seems that someone who may be very jealous of my boss, has decided to say that you were chasing after my boss. Mr. Reyes apologizes for dragging your name in the mud.”
Everyone around them gasped. Shouldn’t this scene have played the other way around? Shouldn’t Adrianna be the one apologizing to the Reyes family for the rumors going around about her?
“There is no need for your boss to apologize, I’m sure it was just a misunderstanding. In fact it should be I that should apologize. My actions seemed to have been taken the wrong way by people.” Adrianna said.
“I’m sorry miss, but I have strict instructions from my boss not to accept your apology.” The VP’s statement once again shocked the evesdroppers.
“Miss as a token, my boss wants to give you this car.” The VP tried handing Adrianna a key to what seemed like a Porsche.
“I cannot accept this sir. I really don’t want my husband to misunderstand.” Adrianna refused the gift.
“The boss said you might refuse. So here’s what we will do instead, you can ask for any favor from him, at any time and he will grant it.” In the back of his mind the VP was thinking that Mr. Reyes would grant his wife a million wishes if she wanted. His boss truly loved his wife.
The people who had witnessed what was going on quickly messaged their friends, and before Adrianna or Cedric could realize there was a new rumor going around.

By the time Ian had found out about the new rumor Cedric was already packing up to leave the office.
“Sir! It seems we managed to kill the old rumor, but it created a new one.” Ian said.
“What is it?” Cedric placed down his things and sat back down on his desk.
“Well sir, I recently joined a couple of forums that talk about you and the other princes.” Ian began.
“Ian, please get to the point, I still need to pick up my wife.” Cedric groaned.
“Well sir, people are now saying you have a crush on your wife.” Ian said hesitantly as he showed Cedric the trail in the forum.
Cedric took the phone from Ian and scrolled through the forum.
Zigzager: My uncle was in bamboo room earlier and he heard that the Reyes Heir was offering Miss Adriana a new car
Axw201: I heard she’s a married woman!
Darkiedo: Yes! She actually refused the car because of her husband!
Justagirl22: I don’t know if she is loyal or stupid.
IndigoSun: So does this mean the Reyes Heir has a thing for a married woman?
Sherly001: Of course he does! And I’m sure her husband is going to lose.
Cedric shook his head after reading just a few comments.
“Think of something to clear this up, I’ll also come up with my own ideas. This is just crazy, how can I steal my wife from me!” Cedric ended up laughing at the thought that he was just competing against himself and no one knew about it.
After picking Adrianna up she told Cedric about the crazy lunch she had with the VP of Elisia Malls. She told him how embarrassed she was at the scene the VP had caused.
“You know, there is another rumor going around about you.” Cedric said with a snicker.
“What is it this time?” Adrianna sighed.
“According to rumors, the heir to the Reyes Group has a crush on you!” Cedric laughed when he finally told her.
“That’s crazy!” Adrianna said.
“I think you’re beautiful enough to attract a CEO!” Cedric said quite lovingly.
“Stop teasing Cedric! I’m being serious here.” Adrianna scolded her husband.
“Adrianna, to me, you are the most beautiful woman in the world.” Cedric quickly stole a kiss on her cheek.
Cedric couldn’t see it but Adrianna blushed at his words and actions.
“Besides, I don’t trust those rumors. I only trust you.” Cedric said as they continued their drive home.

Ghostified City
‘Ghostified City’ is a post-dystopian sci-fi tale, set in a fading world that might be a future version of ours, running out on autopilot into oblivion. Adaman Yimmand is a simple robofactory operator in The City who's working with robots and machines every day. He doesn’t even realise that he might not have met another actual human being in years. Everything begins when he breaks his routine for once and enters a bar where he meets Evelith. This pesky other person does not let him go after he has had his -rather terrible- beer, because according to her actual humans are much rarer than he’s aware of. And from then on ‘the genie is out of the bottle and won’t get back in’, to use her words: Adaman meets more people, and gradually he has no choice but to accept that the reality of The City is not what he always thought it was, and to face the darkness of a fading humanity on the brink of self-inflicted extinction. Is there any hope left for him, and for his species? I have selected 'sexual content' and 'traumatising content' to be on the safe side, because there is a stripclub-like venue in the background of the story, and an almost-extinct humanity that has institutionalised suicide which might be disturbing to some. Apart from that it's not really a heavy 'adult' story.('Ghostified City' is my first long story in English as opposed to my native language Dutch, and an earlier version was published on my fiction blog 'Oranderra' until I stopped updating. This is a slightly altered version of the first series.)
