《The Class Of Dan ThunderField》48-Sleepy
Advertisement
Izumi is yawning in the middle of the ring. It seems that she is not at her full strength. This is bad. Horrell can’t fight and Izumi seems to be...Sleepy?
XXXXXX
“Hey, Izumi...” Horrell calls out for Izumi who is showing signs of drowsiness.
“Hmm?” Izumi looks at Horrell.
Izumi’s eyes are drowsy. It seems that redness is taking over her eyes from the lack of sleep she has. Plus the sleep bags have appeared on her eyes as well.
Horrell sighs in disappointment, “What were you doing all night? Did you not sleep?” Horrell asks Izumi.
“Nah, nah, I slept all fine.” Izumi says with a smile but there are clear signs that she is quite sleepy.
XXXXXX
“Are you sure you want that girl to fight this round?” The girl called Rachel Feeder asks.
“I don’t know about that myself...” Horrell looks at Izumi feeling nervous.
XXXXXX
“Dan ThunderField, that’s your name, right?” Pears, their teacher asks me.
I nod.
“Are you sure as a leader you should let that girl fight?” Pears asks me while pointing at Izumi.
“Oh no, I am not the leader, that girl you are pointing at, she is the one leading the team.” I say as I totally deny everything Pears says.
At first, Pears seemed to be fine, “I see.”
...
Suddenly, he bursts out, “HUH?!!! WHY IS THAT GIRL THE LEADER?! AREN’T YOU THE TEACHER?!”
“She is a better leader than me, that’s why.” I say as I point at Izumi.
“I thought you were a good teacher but you are just a naive teacher, giving amateur people the leader’s batch.” Pears says.
“What do you mean?” I ask.
“How do you see this girl as a leader? She doesn’t seem like a leader to me whatsoever.” Pears says.

I smirk, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” I say.
Pears sighs, “Is that so?”
XXXXXX
“So, should I believe that these two are fighting from your team, Academy of Wise?” The referee asks us.
“You betcha!” I say with a smile.
Even the referee seems to be surprised. Izumi...You better win this. It’s not only my pride that’s on the line right now but yours too.
XXXXXX
“Are you sure that Dan’s team can win this?” Carly seems to be nervously smiling.
“What do you think?” Sam asks Carly.
“What do I think?” Carly seems to be confused.
“Dan trusts his students, shouldn’t we trust him too?”Jake says with a smile.
“Father?” Carly looks at Jake who is smiling.
“Dan’s team will win, I know that for sure. I mean have you seen how strong each of them is and even if they are not strong, they are strong right over here.” Taani ends the sentence while keeping her hand on her forehead.
“I know that the last four fights that Silver boi’s team had been quite easy in all honesty but this one...I think it might be a little too tough for them.” Brake says.
Carly seems to be concentrated in the middle of the ring.
XXXXXX
Izumi yawns as the referee raises his hand, “ARE BOTH THE SIDES READY?!”
“BEGIN!!!” The referee brings down his hand.
“Let’s finish this quickly!” Euu Martin the other participant of the round says as he rushes towards Izumi who is an easy target.
*Swish*
*Smack*
“Guh-“
*Smash*
“Eh?! What just happened?!”
XXXXXX
Pears's eyes stayed widened from the shock that Izumi just gave everyone.
“I might be sleepy but I am still awake and that means I can still fight!” Izumi says as she stands firm.

She looks right behind Pears where she punched Euu who was rushing.
“Euu Martins, out of bounds! Eliminated from this round! The only person that remains is Rachel Feeder!” The referee announces.
XXXXXX
Pears seems to be in shock, “Euu was a Novice Class Mage, there is no way that he would have lost to a kid like that unless she is already...An Apprentice Class Mage. No that’s not it...Even if she was An Apprentice Class Mage, Euu would have given her a hard time since he is pretty close to reaching the Apprentice Class himself that can only mean one thing...That girl is a Knight Class Mage already...” Pear’s eyes widen.
XXXXXX
That’s right, she is the strongest student among the five I have with me. Izumi Roka, the one who broke through the Knight Class Mage within a month.

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.

Now on Royal Road! This is a series of short stories that take place in the world of the UnderCurrent. A world where 'plot-armour' is usually something the enemy have & where the machine you pilot may very well decide a battle before it ever begins.---- Now available on Royal-Road!For my review of 'Zeta Gundam' I wrote a short story detailing what the lives of the poor everyday background pilots must be like - In a war predicated on the fact that one man said another's name; "Sounds like a girl's name" - Leading to the deaths of 1000s. Since then I've begun writing an original novel, carrying over the characters from here, called 'UnderCurrent'.These stories can be read without knowledge of UnderCurrent and likewise it can be read without knowledge of this.Optimally however it may benefit you to read UnderCurrent to have complete context, the following are some words that may not always be in all of the stories should you choose to skip from tale to tale;Vijaik - A blanket term for mechs made of regular metals. They come in a variety of designs.Casnel - Specifically refers to any mech made of the rare metal 'Goibniu'. They are exceptionally advanced and powerful machines.Bhaile and Abhaile - The planets of UnderCurrent's people.IAFS - 'Independent Alliance of Free States', a rebel faction backed by private corporations, seeking change for the solar-system.TSU - 'The States Union', ruling body of all controlled space, known for often-times being callous and extreme in method.Remembrance - A somewhat 'wild-card' faction made up of former rebellion survivors operating from the 'Remembrance' continent. ----Thanks for reading😊👍.
