《Sona, A Goddess Queen in a Modern World.》03 - Etwahl

When Sona took etwahl, she felt the familiarity of the instrument and unconsciously began to strum her strings.
Etwahl was like a harp in the shape of a keyboard. A unique instrument that only Sona knew how to play.
When she started strumming the strings, she started to feel weaker, but she didn't stop. The happiness she was feeling in this new life, even though she had to start again as a mortal, could not be explained in words by her who used music to describe her own feelings.
The happiness she was feeling was being passed on by etwahl to Madison, who began to feel in her chest the feeling of happiness that she had not felt for so long because of her husband's death. The peaceful atmosphere that her daughter fingering that instrument was transmitting was something she missed.
Sitting on the bed to enjoy this rare moment of tranquility, Madison leaned on her daughter's shoulder and fell asleep.
When Sona realized that her mother was sleeping on her own shoulder, she quickly stopped touching and helped her mother to lie on the bed so that she wouldn't fall and something bad would happen to the baby in her belly. But Madison had clung to her daughter's arm as if it were the most precious thing in the world, something she wouldn't let anyone take away from her in her sleep. Sona wasn't going to try to force his mother's arm out and lay down next to the beautiful pregnant woman.
While Madison was sleeping next to her, Sona took the time to digest all the information she received from this place from Angela's memories. This was a planet called earth, she and her mother were English and lived in Liverpool. Her father was American and came to England looking for a job. Here he met her mother and the two lovers ended up getting married when they were very young.

But because neither of them had many studies, they ended up having a hard time working in very stressful jobs, making them both very tired.
After Angela's father died, Madison took another job and started working two shifts to make sure the house wouldn't be short of food, which would soon have another member.
Angela was a little rebellious when she was a teenager, she always listened to rock and hardly ever left home. With the death of her father, she started going out even less, not even to school did she go anymore. She spent the whole day playing GoA on her computer and didn't know what she was going to do with her life.
Another thing that Sona noticed, was that among Angela's memories, she had seen some of the characters in this game, GoA and noticed that they were like the God-Kings of her old world. Even Aatrox and Chronos existed there. She should investigate that later.
Another thing she noticed was that in none of Sona's memoirs had she found anything related to cultivation. She didn't know anything about people with superpowers except the comics she always read.
Sona had used some of the ambient energy without noticing when playing etwahl, when she observed her own body, she saw that just to play this song, she had used more than 70% of the energy that she had available. And she hadn't even struggled to use energy, this energy that was produced by playing etwahl was only used to facilitate the use of the instrument's indestructible strings.
While Madison slept next to her, Sona thought it might be dangerous if she used the energy of this planet to cultivate, since she did not know the energy here. Because of the amount of energy, this planet possessed, probably only a tiny part of the population could cultivate, unlike the land in its ancient life, where practically all had cultivated in life to attempt to attain immortality.

As Sona had nothing else to do, she relaxed and slept with her mother, enjoying the hug she was getting.
...
A few hours later, Madison woke up and saw that she was lying there embracing one of Angela's arms. She was momentarily worried that her daughter would get angry, but to her surprise, the blue-haired teenager was sleeping deeply with a small smile on her face.
Seeing that smile, Madison felt much calmer. The most important thing in her life was her daughter, Angela. Seeing her so well has left her carefree.
In light of the current situation, Madison was surprised. She never imagined that after giving the instrument she had bought to her daughter, she would know how to play it so well right away. The song she played was so relaxing that Madison felt she had rested in those few hours of sleep more than she would rest if she slept for 24 hours. She was reinvigorated now and she as a mother could feel that the son in her belly was also fine, that that song had calmed her from the frustrations she could have unconsciously passed on to him.
To her surprise, when Madison took her eyes off her belly, where there was her youngest son, Angela was looking at her with loving eyes that a daughter would give her mother. "Good morning, mother."
"Good morning, child." Madison responded with a smile as she felt at peace.
The two were hugged in bed enjoying each other's presence while each thought of something different. This tune of mother and daughter was something rare to happen, that the two were taking advantage not to leave this moment wasted.
"Shall we get something to eat?" Madison asked.
"Come on, let's go! I'm starving to death." Sona answered with a serene voice and a calm that Madison had never seen before. This calm was something that Sona acquired after living thousands of years searching for perfection in the music itself.
Sona got up first and helped Madison get up too, she didn't want anything to happen to the baby. As they were leaving the room, Sona looked at etwahl who was beginning to float to follow in her direction and told him to wait here telepathically. Madison would probably be scared if she saw the instrument floating behind her daughter like magic.

Toothpick
“Hello! My humble audience! I, the Bard of the North, am going to tell you a tale. Nothing new, nothing old. A story of a hero, some may say, others a poor boy who was hated by the world.” The storyteller paused as he waited, right timing was everything when telling a story. Pacing… Too slow and the audience became bored then left without tossing even the smallest of coins. If he spoke too fast and rushed the story. It would leave the audience confused and having no reason to be impressed. So like any good storyteller, the Bard has to do a balancing act of sorts. Not too slow, not too fast. Just perfectly in the middle. “In a shattered country in the south, a novice princeling has the ambition to mend a torn tapestry that is his birthplace. Struggling to fend off those who would usurp the throne in an unending civil war spanning centuries. A mercenary that left only death in his wake, unable to stave off the monotony and peace of life. He looks back at the path laden with bodies, wondering if it was all worth it. Wandering souls summoned by a madman, travel away from a wasteland in a foreign land, the first alone, the others as companions. A deity, ancient in her years, waiting to be freed from a duty she no longer enjoys. For all these people and their stories, none are the hero of this tale. No, the hero is not grand, not wise, not ready.. he was punished for nothing of his doing, who was an outcast that was unloved by many, including his father.” This was always the big reveal novices use to jump off into their story. He did not start here, instead, like any good fishermen, he set the bait and waited until the fish bit before pulling. As he saw the audience's eyes focus, he then started the backstory. The harness, that stopped the listeners from having metaphorical whiplash. The foreshadowing. “But that is not where the story starts. No, not even the hero's birth. Where the story begins, is the boredom of the deity, a deity many know of. She who hunts for the impossible, the guide for those who have lost the path, the Huntress of Mallon--” A small pause, a short breath. “--All old names for a single powerful being that has roamed the grounds of this continent longer than any line of kings or queens, lords or ladies. A being of worship for many an individual…” One last breath. And he began singing the first verse.
