“Now is not really the time to bother me, Yumiko. Can you please get out?”

“Can’t you at least greet me back? It’s been a week since I haven’t seen you, you know?” the girl ignored my plead.

This girl. Yes. She is a special case. For some reason the academy had this brilliant idea specially made for me. Just because of something I did during the registration day, I ended up with her. This girl is now one of our dorm mates because she has been pinpointed to become a watcher. What is a watcher? As the name stated, they are to watch over a person. In this case, this girl will be watching over me. This all happened just because the two of us had a commotion back then. Jeez.

Allow me to introduce, Yumiko Ilieana Pavlova. Yes, it is quite a mouthful. This selfish long haired blondie is such a waste of space for me. She always annoys me with her distasteful joke. She thinks I’m such an idiot for being overzealous about the littlest thing. Throughout the past one month, she had been all over the place watching over me from god knows where. But I already know what her capability was.

She has this ability called Magic Bullet. It’s some sort of a utility based magic. Basically she has this different types of bullet ranging from Healing Rounds, Poison Shots, and many more. The most interesting bullet she has so far is the Portal Beam. She could shot this beam anywhere she pleases and it will open up a portal to wherever she wants. This kind of power reminds me a lot about one of my sibling. A rather annoying sibling but that is for another story however.

“Yumiko…I said, get out.”

“Can’t you at least get up and look at how cute I am right now? I just bought this new hoodie by the way.”

“I’m not interested. And besides, I already have a girlfriend.”

“Had. That’s the right word. I'm not wrong, right? Or do you even have one?”

She just blew me a charge. I got up from my bed and pushed her out of my room and slammed the door shut. Jeez. Can’t she at least be more considerate when talking about how other people feels? I’m not sure how it happened but it happened. I was friend zoned by the one and only crush I had in high school. Rika Lightning. She just said that her reasoning behind this was because she had to focus more on her study. The immature me however just nodded and said okay. Oh how idiotic I was back then to accept facts at face value. But still, I guess I blew it. I’m back being single. The only thing that remains intact from my high school life was Team Stardust. But that also end up with only a few of them leaving the group entirely.

Hosuke, Blax, Rider, Kirin, Lore, Haz, and Airi were the only ones that stick with Stardust. Meanwhile, Zone and Rulend decided that it is a good thing for them to part ways as they have other things to pursue in the future. I guess that’s that. What about the other juniors I had? Those guys are still studying their final year at high school. So nothing crucial happened between them. With that all have been said and done. I closed my eyes and went to sleep until it was night time.

It was then dinner time and all of the food was placed on a mat that we have prepared. We all had planned to have this dinner right after holiday ended. It is all fun and games but I have classes tomorrow. That goes the same for the others as well.

“You’re finally awake. Come join us, White.” Ziggs noticed that I was finally there.

I took a seat and joined the others.

“Hey, where is Yumiko?” asked Ralph.

Pye added, “I thought Yumiko was with you, White.”

“Not when I’m asleep.” I sternly answered that.

“She’s probably in her own personalised bathroom. Specially made just for her.” Hem guessed. “I wish I have my own bathroom. Hey, you know what? Let’s take a peek at her room and see what she’s doing.”

Pye slapped his back and said, “Are you serious, Hem? Now is not the time to be fooling around. You know what happens when you try to do anything funny to her, right?”

“Yeah, yeah. I know that. She probably planted a trap at the door knob or something.”

“What did she do to you the other day?”

“You really want to know, Pye? Well then, as soon as I touched the doorknob I was immediately sent to a forest nearby. I had to freaking walk 10 kilometres just to get out of that forest. It took almost a day.”

“That girl knows her way to protect herself. Especially with a bunch of guys in this dorm.” Kal concluded so.

Azreal then added, “Isn’t she an S rank Wizard?”

“Oh yeah.” Ralph agreed, “Compared to all of us, she’s way out of our league. Not many people can say that they are on the same level as that girl.”

To make things clear, ever since the beginning of this year. The ranking system has been updated to give a clearer understanding. Now after all of the assessment they made at the end of last year, my current ranking is B. Yes, basically something like that. So the new ranking system goes like this from the lowest to the highest, F, E ,D ,C ,B, A and it goes on to S. Afterwards, there is also SS and SSS. Which is blatantly obvious by the earlier explanations. You can see how far my abilities is right now.

Like what Ralph said. We are way out of her league. I’m on B while the rest of us are mostly B as well. Ziggs is the only A ranked wizard here. Just how much she had done anyway. But then again, the ranking system only counts on the things that we have been widely known for. I mean, I defeated a Champions of Chaos from bringing upon an apocalypse. But…know one even knows about that by the end of the fight. So I guess, my good deed was pretty much hidden from the world. Darn it. If you don't quite understand what I'm talking about, I've told that story already before.

Yeah, I kind of had a slight changes on that time that I've had before. Now that I remember a portion of it, I can’t help it how there was actually another girl that I seemed to have forgotten way before the Magic Duel group stage. A girl from the north. What’s her name again? Ach, forget it. It’s no use, that fuzzy memory that I have were just an old story now.

The only one who would believe me was both of my parents but even with that knowledge in mind, both of them said that I have to keep that fragmented memory to myself. Else it could cause some dangerous outcome. In any case, all of that is in the past and now is the present.

“We’re you guys waiting for me?” Yumiko appeared from the ceiling through her portal.

“I thought you were in your room. Where were you, Yumiko?” asked Pye.

She laughed and said, “I was indeed in my room. I just thought of going to the lounge through a different passage would be fun. And boy, what a topic was that.”

“Well. As Ralph said, we are way out of your league. There’s no way we can approach you that easily. This is all thanks to White, really” Hem patted me at the back.

“I never asked to be watched by a girl. It’s embarrassing.”

“Aren’t you supposed to be the happiest one out of us all?” asked Azreal. “I mean you get to hang out with one of the most popular girl in the academy.”

Then I replied back, “You mean an ex-popular girl? She’s no longer one of the Trinity as far as I remember.”

Yumiko dropped down and said, “Even so, I’m still considered to be one of the cutest girl in this academy. Aren’t you happy enough for that?”

“I’m sorry but you are not in the range of my preference, Fallen Trinity.”

“Fallen Trinity? Now that is a good title for me. It sounds way better than just being one of the Trinity. I can now be the ‘only’ Fallen Trinity.”

“Is that supposed to be something to be proud of, Yumiko?”

“To-may-to, to-mah-to. What’s the difference? Let’s eat!”

Yumiko begins munching down her food. Gently that is. She was still a girl. There’s no way a girl would eat like a freaking animal right? Unless you are a boy that is… Especially this two fella. Kal and Azreal was seen chomping down their food vigorously.

“Can’t you two please be more…human-like?” said Ziggs. “I mean, there’s a girl in our presence. Aren’t you guys ashamed of that?”

“Big deal.” Kal seems to not care at all, “It’s not like she cares about us that much. Her eyes are only on White, that’s for sure.”

I intervened as soon as he said that, “Why does that sound like she has fallen for me? There’s no way things are like that between us!”

“He’s right. There’s no way I would fall in love with a trash like you, White. I mean, you can’t even beat me the other day.”

“I was holding back the other day. Had I known you weren’t just a cutie face, I would just…”

My phone then decided to ring at just the right time. Huh, talk about a weird timing. I pulled out my phone and saw it was one of Team Stardust who called me. It was Hosuke. I wonder why he called me.

“Hey White. Do you happen to know of a girl by the name of…Astral?”

“Astral? Wait…”

That’s a name I haven’t heard for a long time…
