《Stardust Universe》Side Story 1.2 - Hosuke - The Four Symbols

I’ve put on my old sweater and went downstairs from my home immediately after witnessing the mysterious object that has dropped few metres away to the ground. While I was on my way to the location, I tried to call the others on my phone but unfortunately, the phone service’s was out for some reason.
“What’s going on here?” I wondered as I kept dialling down my friends contact number.
This could be one of those EMPs attacks that White used to talk about. We’ve used to play around this one video game where it focuses a lot on strategy. It sets in a futuristic warzone and it was in this game where White told me about those EMP thingy. I don’t remember well what does it do but I think it is supposed to be a thing that happens whenever every single technology stopped working for a few moments. In this case, we still don’t know how long this attack was going to be.
As soon as I reached there, I saw a bunch of weird looking people begins surrounding the tall structure. As I looked closer, those weird people were building something around the tall structure.
“What are they doing?” Blax appeared right next to me.
“That was fast…” I was caught off by surprise of how Blax just suddenly appeared.
“The moment I heard that loud bang, I knew something was up. I just had to take a look at this and look what we got here…a bunch of grey hooded people building some kind of structure.” Blax was confused.
“Yeah…I got nothing as well. Should we interrupt them?”
“There’s too many of them. You don’t think the two of us would be enough right?”
I shake my head and said, “I think we’re more than enough. Reincarnation of The Sea God and A Black Knight…What else do we need?”
“Perhaps a mad inventor would help as well?” Haz makes an appearance.
“It’s been a while since we do this stupid thing don’t you think?” Blax laughed, “As acting leader…let’s make some noise.”
-
As the grey hooded people were building something around the tall structure, a large pile of metal started to pile up and combined with each other. Transforming into a robot of the size of a double-storey house. This was the work of Haz and his inventive ability.
“Introducing, Seven version 3.0!” Haz orders Seven to cause havoc. “Seven can now transform itself together with multiple parts to become something even better than before. Seven can now endure strong physical damage.”

To our surprise, the hooded people started to run around the place in terror. Some of them tried to fight back, of course. But we won’t let any of them escape…
“Hosuke!” Blax called for me, “Don’t let them get away.”
“Got it!” I nodded.
Water begins to circulate around the huge area. I raised both of my hand in the sky and gave out a pretty decent amount of Infinitum Energy. The water that has been circulating around begins to form a large wall covering the entire place in a huge circle.
“You’re not going anywhere…” I formed a watery aura around me to summon one single thing. “Come forth my katana, Mizusame!”
The water katana that I have forged last year was now more ready than ever. I slowly slashed the air with my katana and doing so unleashes a bunch of water around the katana. I was able to move around the water blast using just my katana. While I was busy capturing the escapees, Blax on the other hand uses hand to hand combat to stop those who were opposing us.
“Bring it on…” Blax taunted them.
A group of enemy begins casting a group wind spell. Blax begins to fly around as he tries to maintain his balance. With a quick swift, Blax got out of the wind spell and punched the ground. Causing a mini quake and stopping the wind spell instantly. He jumped up into the sky and punched down to the ground once again, dropping down everyone near him including me.
“Hey! What the heck are you doing, Blax? This isn’t funny!”
“Whoops? I calculated that wrongly, I think.”
It seems everyone today has grown a lot since our last battle. I’m now able to fully utilize my Mizusame to the fullest of its ability while Haz can now control a pretty gigantic robot made out of metal scraps. Blax however has grown exponentially stronger than before. His Super Strength has become more creative than before and not just that, he doesn’t rely on The Black Berserker’s Sword to help him out in this battle. Then again, not using that thing is probably the best thing right now. The enemy we’re facing against were not a big trouble at all to say the least.
After all have been said and done, the entire enemy stopped fighting and using my ability, I tied them up with water handcuffs around their hand. They were gathered up in one place while the three of us begin investigating the area.
“I think we need someone to keep an eye on them…” I told the other two.

But then Haz barged in and said, “Not to worry, let’s use Seven and its brothers Eight, Nine and Ten.”
“You’ve been making brothers for Seven?” I snickered a little.
“Well what can I say, I’ve been busy.” Haz was very proud of his hard work.
Now that the guarding duty has been out of our way, the three of us begin to look at the mysterious tall structure that has come down from the sky.
“What do you think is this supposed to be?” I asked the other two whether they got some ideas or not.
Haz then replied, “I think this is a totem pole.”
“A totem pole? I think it’s more of a pillar to me…”
“It could be both” suggested Blax.
“This thing has some pictures around on it…do you guys know what it might mean.”
“It’s called Hieroglyphs, Hosuke.” Haz corrected him. “And no, it’s an ancient writing. Meaning that, no one over here knows how to read it.”
“Well…I can’t read it…” Blax walks toward the pillar and touched it, “But I can tell you guys what are these picture is representing.”
Of all the hieroglyphs that were around the pillar, Blax stopped his hands at one column. It was a picture of four different animals.
Blax begins to explain, “These are The Four Symbols…”
“Symbols of what?” I asked.
“That’s just it. They are called The Four Symbols. They are four mythological creatures in an old constellations map. They are the Azure Dragon of the East, the Vermillion Bird of the South, the White Tiger of the West, and the Black Turtle of the North. Each one of them represents a direction and a season. Each has its own individual characteristics and origins.”
“Interesting…” Haz was intrigued.
Blax continued, “These animals have come across by a lot of different names for the past decades. But the most popular names they had were either from the rising sun land or the largest land in the world. Let’s just use the largest land in the world’s given name in this case. The Azure Dragon goes by the name, Qinglong. The Vermillion Bird is called Zhuque. The White Tiger is called Baihu and the Black Tortoise is called Xuanwu. These are the four guardians of the largest land in the world. What this pillar doing here however remains a mystery.”
“Wow. I never knew something like that existed. Are those animals real, then?” I asked Blax just to make sure.
“I’m not quite sure if it’s actually a real animal. It could probably only used to represent certain aspects of the largest land in the world. Qinglong represents Spring, Zhuque represents Summer, Baihu represents Autumn and Xuanwu represents Winter. In fact, the colours of these animals also match the colours of soil in the corresponding areas of the largest land in the world way above Crestia.”
“Really?”
“Yes.” Blax continues, “The bluish-grey water logged soils of the east, the reddish iron-rich soils of the south, the whitish saline soils of the western deserts, and the black organic-rich soils of the north. What’s missing here is the centre…”
“What do you mean, Blax?”
“There is supposed to be a fifth animal over here but it looks like it’s not here at all. What could that possibly mean?”
“Beats me, I’m not into the past. I’m more into the future.” Haz expressed his feelings to us.
“Can you tell us about the fifth animal, then?” I asked Blax for more info.
“Sure thing. Supposedly, the fifth animal is the Yellow Dragon in the Centre. Huanglong is what the people called. It is the embodiment of the element of Earth in the five elements of the people in the largest land in the world.”
“Five elements?” Haz was confused.
“It’s a different elements compared to what we known. They called it Wu Xing, also known as Five Elements, Five Phases, the Five Agents, the Five Movements, Five Processes, the Five Stages and even the Five Planets of significant gravity: Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Venus, Mars. The Five Elements are, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. It’s pretty different compared to the classic four elements of fire, water, earth and wind. But it has its roots deep down in the largest land in the world.”
“That’s good and all but what does that mean for us over here?”
“We are trying to resurrect the animals…” a mysterious voice was heard.
We all looked at where the voice was heard and saw a girl. The girl had wavy hairs and her hair had a bunch of flowers over it. This girl reminds me of someone but I can’t seem to remember who it was…
“Who are you…?” I asked her.
“I’m Mei…and I’m the leader of this group…We’re from the largest land in world that you seem to deny calling it by its real name…Zhongguo.”
