《Stardust Universe》Chapter 1.34 - Rose - The Great Crystal Roc

It was a spectacle. I have just watched an unbelievable feat done by one of my classmates. To think that Cyclone White would be able to gain control over an Elder Dragon, a far more superior dragon type compared to the common ones we learned about in textbooks. I know I’m being left out here so I asked both Zenith and Yumiko what was the logic behind White’s ability.
“If I have to guest…” Yumiko makes a guest and said, “It is probably related to the Infinitum Crystal that he ate.”
“…” Zenith suddenly created a spear out of ice. “Enemies…”
I quickly turned myself to the oncoming enemies and told them, “Looks like White’s isn’t the only one with a battle. We have a city to take back. Come on, guys!”
Yumiko sighed, “What a drag…Can’t be helped, I guess. Violet!”
Violet, her guardian spirit of some sort appeared from her psyche and stood proudly next to her.
“What is it, sis? Need my help?”
“Yeah. I could use some helping hand beating these monsters.”
“Wait.” Violet looks up at the sky and said, “Is that boy riding that dragon?”
“Surprisingly, yes.”
Violet laughed, “I only took down dragons in the past but I never encounter an Elder Dragon before. That boy is interesting. Don’t you think so, Yumiko?”
“Let’s not get carried away, sister.”
“Are you two siblings?” I asked Yumiko and Violet.
Yumiko then responded, “Not by blood or anything. It’s just one of the things that I wrote down in my contract with her.”
“I see…you’re that lonely, huh?”
Yumiko flustered, “I am not lonely!”
I giggled at that while Zenith manages to secretly smile at Yumiko’s vulnerable side.
“Did you just smile, shorty?!”
Zenith tries to hide her face as she tried to keep herself from laughing as well. “No…I…am not…”
“You’re laughing!”
Violet then laughed and said, “My lovely sister was very lonely. She always needs me by her side 24/7. She is very dependent. You guys won’t know this but one time at her room she…”
“That’s enough, Violet! The enemies are right in front of us!”
“Alright…alright!” she stopped trying to embarrass Yumiko as a group of Gem Soldiers approached us.
“What the heck are they?” Yumiko questions over the Gem Soldiers.
I explained to her, “Those are Gem Soldiers. They are non-living soldiers powered by the crystals and gems all over this city. They are the guardian of this city.”

“Vatherion corrupted them with his power…” added Zenith.
Meanwhile in the sky, The Chaos Champion, Vatherion and White were feverishly exchanging blows every time the Great Crystal Roc and Taloncryst came close to each other. The Roc pulled back and flew in reverse, facing the enemy as it flies backward. The Elder Dragon, Taloncryst then give chase to the Roc, as it tries to dodge from the oncoming crystal magic that the Roc throws at them. Taloncryst blew up all of the crystal magic that was sent by the Roc and quickly charged through the barrage. Taloncryst then head-butted the Roc’s stomach, sending it away and crashing it down on one of the many surrounding mountains. The Roc was staggered for a moment until it regained its consciousness back and returned to the skies.
Around the same time as well, we flushed out the Gem Soldiers with our magic. I transformed into a rabid hound and lunged and snapped all of my target’s neck. While, Zenith continues to create ice spears and throws at the soldiers as it approaches. She even used the spears as her melee weapon whenever an unsuspecting soldier was near her. Yumiko uses her Elemental Bullet which contains a randomized elemental effect on each bullet. Destroying the Gems Soldier with burning delight, freezing temperatures, stormy sensation or smashing strikes.
Meanwhile, Violet uses her water ability to creates a water serpent that moves around the field, chomping up all enemy that it runs through. After swallowing up about dozens of them, the water serpent turned into a floating big sphere and in just a few seconds later, exploded. Pieces of gems scattered all over the chamber room.
“This is room is too small for us, sister. Over here!” Violet says that as she was already outside of the building and making her way up to the mountain.
“Let’s go!” I ordered the rest to follow Violet. “We’ll use the mountain path!”
The mountain that we got up was a magnificent white mountain; its rocks were white in colour while the pathway was filled with dirt that came from the city. On top of the mountain was the inactive volcano that no longer have any forms of lava as it were all used up by the once great Gems Warrior to defeat The Great Crystal Roc.
Speaking of the Great Crystal Roc, White and Vatherion was still at the sky trading blows with each other until Vatherion suddenly stopped the Roc.
He then told White from the distance, “To think that you would be able to control the Elder Dragon, Taloncryst. I’ll have you know that this is The Great Crystal Roc! The Second Chaos Monster!”

White then replied, “The Second, huh? I see now…you guys just want to revive this thing to wreak havoc. I won’t let that happen though. Because I have other plans for the Roc!”
Taloncryst once again charged to the Roc and once again it hit the Roc’s stomach but this time, Vatherion jumped out of the Roc and onto Taloncryst.
“I’ll politely ask you to give me back my dragon!” Vatherion raised his sword to White’s neck.
White paused the time and blinked himself behind Vatherion but White’s surprise attack was quickly annihilated as the Champion’s quick guess captured White’s hand and throws him to Taloncryst scales. As the battle on top of The Elder Dragon was happening, The Great Crystal Roc was hit hard and crashed landed on the same mountain we were climbing. We rushed to the Roc to make sure if it was still alive or not while being careful of the Gems Soldier that was behind us.
Vatherion steps over White’s throat as it chokes the life out of him. White had difficulty of breathing but then he uses all his might to order Taloncryst to make a barrel roll. The Elder Dragon turned upside down, forcing Vatherion to hold onto the dragon scales while letting go White off from being choked to death. White fell down as he failed to grab onto the scales. He crash landed at the same mountain as well.
“White!” Zenith noticed that White just crashed down to the mountain.
She quickly made her way to the crash location by turning herself into a small snow phoenix. She finally reached White and turned back into her human self. She tries to wake White up.
“White…You’re not…dead, right?”
Then, White suddenly responded, “That’s a cruel joke, Zen…I’m not ready to die just yet.” He laughed off his pain.
“But…you fell from the sky…”
“Recordia kind of saved me at the last second.”
“Recordia?”
Recordia was lying on top of White’s abdomen as she lets out her exhaustion after saving White.
“Recordia…used her wings and strength…to carry White…Recordia…is exhausted…Recordia begins the shutdown process. Recordia said that as she closes her eyes.” She then slept.
White looked at her tiny little body and said to Zenith, “She saved my life…”
“Let her rest, White. She’s done enough for us today.”
“True. I’ll repay her with something after this…perhaps I’ll give her a present or two…”
Zenith then suggested, “How about a new dress for her?”
“That’s a good idea as well. We’ll go out together and look for her new dress and some presents.”
Violet, Yumiko and I finally reached them and heard what they were talking about.
Zen smiled and said, “I’ll take good care of her just as I always protected you…”
“I don’t think you did a good job at protecting me though. But I think you can protect Recordia…”
“Let’s take care of her together, White…”
Meanwhile, Yumiko comments on what just happened, “And here I thought those two won’t be compatible at all. Now those two are like parents now!”
“So you’re saying that, Recordia is their child now?” I raised my eyebrows.
“Well what else? That’s what I see from their conversations just now.” Yumiko shrugged. “It’s like a newlywed couple that just adopted a baby or something.”
“Why are you so riled up, sister?” Violet asks Yumiko resentment.
Yumiko replied, “I just don’t like seeing that smug face from White. I want him to be annoyed or anything else other than happy.”
“You resent him that much?” I wondered.
Yumiko then sighed and said, “Oh well. He can get his happiness for now.”
Then quite suddenly, the mountain begins to shake.
“So it’s not over yet, huh…” I said that as I saw a pile of rocks were crumbling near us.
The Great Crystal Roc emerges from the pile of rocks. Its wing was impaired and it was no longer able to fly thanks to the tremendous crash it just had. The Roc cawed at us as Zenith and I helped White to stand up.
White puts down Recordia on a soft and warm pillow that he brought out from his Dimensional Bag. Zenith then added in a ripped blanket that came from her egg shell.
“Violet…can you watch her for us?”
Violet nodded and said, “Sure thing, boy.” She then turned to Yumiko and said, “Yumiko, use this…” she handed her a bunch of bullets made out of Violet’s abilities.
“Very well then.” White turned back to the Roc and said, “It’s time we put a stop to this bird once and for all.”
“Oh gosh! We are just like the legendary four Gem Warriors!” I was excited when I realized what was happening.
“If that’s the case…” White then claimed, “Let’s go, Gem Warriors!”

My Pixie Familiar
Pixies are real. Not only are they real, but are considered pests due to their mischievous nature and love of pranks. Some people think they are magical and making a potion or powder from their wings will transfer that magic to a person. Any good alchemist will tell you that is not true. Most will gladly take your money and make you a "magic potion" though. My name is Jase Fisher and I thought I would follow in the steps of my mother and become an alchemist since I didn't enjoy fishing, hunting, or any of the other trades offered in Beau Ferry, my village. Not only have I been looking forward to being an alchemist, I was looking forward to bonding with a familiar. My biggest fear is not bonding with one of the exciting familiars such as a dragonet. If I can just make it through the bonding process, my life is set. Oh, and not run afoul of any pixie pranks.
