"INVENTORY."
Jack opened his inventory and took the pearl and the earing out to see what they looked like.
"Let's see now...
On his right hand he was holding perfectly round , green-grey pearl. It was not that big or eye-catching , but Jack could clearly notice that it wasn't normal.
On his left there was a red earing in the form of a cross. It in was a deep red color with several black scratch marks on it and radiated a certain aura making Jack instantly like it for no apparent reason.
"The 'Undead Pearl' seems to look exactly like I would expect from the description, but 'Lovers Whisper' is a cross?! I really didn't expect that , but maybe after finding a cross inside a bible I shouldn't be that surprised."
Jack then tried to equip the earing, but stopped in his tracks.
"This cross...is meant to be backwards? A inverted cross!"
He found out that if he wore the earing the cross would be backwards. Even he , as someone who didn't really believe in god got shivers from that revelation.
' F*ck, another problem. Well, if there is a fire burning why not add another log in it?
This clearly is not a good sign.'
"INVENTORY."
Jack didn't want to hold the earing in his hand anymore as it creeped him out, so he put it back inside his inventory.
"Now let's see what you can do."
Jack got ready to try the 'Undead Pearls' skill the 'Styx Arrow' to see it's power , but he remembered that something like that couldn't be wasted on an experiment. That skill could decide life and death.
' No ,I need to better manage my item skills. They are too valuable in battle as they don't drain any of my MP. '

With that revelation he put the 'Undead Pearl' inside his inventory also and decided to focus on finding the other parts of the key.
"I already have found one of the key pieces by solving the first riddle and with a little of ingenuity, so that's a plus for now."
'Heh...who the hell knew that a health potion could be effective against these creatures? It seems to have a very irritating effect on them, but the damage it causes seems not that big. This could be useful later on as maybe this could also work on the 'Wendigos'.'
"Anyway, the two remaining riddles are....
In the chest behind the vest, I serve better to no guest.
I pray to no one in sight, darkest night, holy light. "
' These two seem more difficult than the first one.
In the chest behind the vest? Does that mean that one of the other key pieces is inside a wooden chest in this house?'
Jack stopped to think for a minute as he tried to think over the second riddle a couple more times, but he only managed to give himself a little headache.
'No good. I can only think that the other key piece is inside a wooden chest and I need to find where the chest is.
On the other hand, the third riddle is a bit more easy understood. Going by what it explains and from two of the items I have found today it seems to have some religious undertones. So, the keywords in the second riddle are , pray , darkest night , holy light.
If that is the case maybe there is some kind of altar for praying in the mansion ? That's not that far fetched as this is not a place on the real world so everything is is possible. Darkest night I'm not sure about, but it may reference a bad period on someone's life of it just might reference the dungeon .

Holy light on the other hand doesn't seem to have any meaning for now.'
"So, where should I begin?
The first riddle I have not completely understood, but finding the key piece mentioned in this one should be easier. Yeah compared to the third one this is going to be easier to find. I just have to fight whoever is protecting the chest."
.......
*Tap Tap*
Jack entered the mansion in again and got ready to go explore the second floor. He started ascending the stairs for the second time when he suddenly started coughing.
*Cough Cough....
"Damn , it seems like that woman really did a good number on me. Even after having my health at 100% I still feel like someone punched me in the chest.
*Cough*
"I hope I find that damn chest....
Wait...no...
Could the answer really be that simple?"
Jack stopped as his brain worked at full speed to try to make sense of what he had just thought. His face scrunched and his forehead bulging with veins as he was solving the most difficult math problem. As confused as he was when the idea first came to him he headed again downstairs and headed towards the headless body of the butler.
The headless body hadn't moved since the last time he saw it, but still Jack was staring at it as if it owed him money.
"It couldn't be that simple right. The chest that the riddle was talking about...
Jack squated down stretched a hand and started to pat the headless body's chest and even took it from the dead body. After some more patting he managed to find nothing on the vest , but he wasn't done
*Babum Babum*
Jack's heart was beating fast, his hands were shaking as he completely removed the clothes of the body. As soon as he did that he started laughing.
"Hahahahah.... what a great idea. I really wouldn't have guessed...
In the chest of the headless, butlers body , there was a grey, metallic thing. Without hesitation Jack dug it from the chest and put it into his inventory.
*Ping*
"Let's see if I was right."
[ Initiating....
Mission Key 2/3.....]
"F*cking hell, I was right."

Azarinth Healer
A new world with nearly unlimited possibilities. A status, classes, magic and monsters. Sounds good? Well, for Ilea it didn't come quite as expected as for some other protagonists, nor was there a king or god to welcome her. The grand quest? Well, she might figure that out someday but for now, a new world with new food is prize enough. Her fists at the ready, she's prepared to punch and get punched, however long it takes and however many limbs she might have to regrow. A story I've started writing now quite a while ago. Transported to another world, somewhat standard fantasy setting with my beginner attempts to make it dark but funny. There are Litrpg elements here but I do hope it's not too heavy and annoying. The fights should be interesting and aren't just numbers vs numbers. Contrary to the title the protagonist will be quite an offensive fighter. Ilea Spears is your average sarcastic kick-boxing fast food worker and soon to be student. She will be transported to another world rather conventionally and will be confronted with survival in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. My experience is incredibly lacking. If you find yourself hating it early on, do convey your anger in a detailed comment or review :) I want to get better but without any feedback it's simply quite difficult. Quick heads up: Around chapter 120 there are a bunch of longer PoV changes that I discontinued again shortly after. The Arc around chapters 150-200 is darker than the rest and the themes shift quite a bit. Just know that it goes back to what you've come to know after that section. Thank you for reading. Quick update June 2019: Many complaints regarding the formatting, specifically spacing in conversations and of course the usage of the present tense in the first 36 chapters have been addressed. I'm of course learning by the day but compared to how it was before it should be an improvement at least. Chapters usually around 3k words Cover art by Kevin Catalan

Drinker of the Yew: A Necromancer's Tale
Updates Once a Week next update 10/5 Wracked with misfortune, a nameless village along the edge of the Gray Spine rejoiced at the arrival of a paladin. Those celebrations, though, turned to wary tension as the paladin brought an unknown into their midst - his wife Nayinis, who wears the markings of a necromancer. Who is this woman? Why has she come to their village? Nayinis divulges her shadowed past, for she needs the village's trust to defeat the powerful foe that she has been summoned by the divine to face. What to expect: This is a slow-paced, dark, epic-fantasy book written mostly in an archaic first-person style, remniscent of fariy-tale at times. I am expecting the final product to be close to 600-700 pages. The first few chapters introduce a somewhat-steep learning curve of names and mythology of the world that plateaus at aroud chapter 5.
