《How I Slayed A Dragon》Chaper 20

(Aug 22 Continued)
Mona and Cornelia clashed and exchanged blows, they were both extremely fast with their attacks and I had to enhance my eyes and my mind with dragon essence in order to just barely see their attacks.
Cornelia was lot faster then Mona with her rapier but Mona has a better weapon that was heavier and dealt more damage, despite that though she was still able to wield her blade with one hand and her other hand was used to defend and attack.
I could see sparks and magic flying everywhere as they clashed, the clangs of their blades and the force of the magical pressure.
Mona's magic seemed different, I think she's a fairy in fact... fairies were quite rare in our city, after all we were a human city and seeing devils or fairies were uncommon, less then 0.001 of our city's population were non-human.
So that would mean she would possess Mana instead of chakra which we humans have and Mana is usually the weakest of the three energies but has the highest control power, so she can manipulate and control her inner energy (which is Mana) easily.
(Chapter 3 explained how Humans possessed chakra, devils have chi and fairies have mana)
She manipulated her mana by pouring her mana into her weapon allowing her to move and manipulate her weapon by controlling her mana inside of her weapon as well as physically moving the weapon as well.
Since I was a part dragon, I could see energy itself unlike normal people who can only sense it but I can physically see energy.
I noticed Mana was a greenish colored energy, Chakra was usually blue color and Chi was usually red color, but will allow me to be able to see if the person I'm looking at is devil, human or fairy.

I saw Mona's green mana flowing through her weapon and the mana squirming inside of the weapon allowing her to swing it and control the weight of the weapon.
Cornelia jumped back in an instant, and then in a flash of light she disappeared and appeared behind Mona. Now how did she do this? She zigzagged extremely quickly which caused our eyes to lose focus in her because she suddenly turned and the average human eye can't keep up. Thus she also made use of misdirection to make us lose focus of her so she looked like she disappeared and reappeared behind Mona.
But I can see her movements because I can see the trail of Chakra energy that Cornelia leaves behind as she moves, recently I've been able to see energy more easily and even small traces and trails left behind from others.
Must be because I'm getting more used to my dragon powers.
Mona instantly turned around to confront Cornelia but was a split second too late and Cornelia attacked with her rapier, thrusting her rapier right into Mona's chin stunned Mona for a second but Mona raised her weapon to block.
Cornelia's rapier weaved around Mona's weapon and struck Mona in the chest and stomach three... no, four times. Mona swung her sword (as she coughed a bit) which made Cornelia jumped backwards instantly widening the distance by several meters.
Cornelia had the speed advantage, but Mona hadn't shown everything she could do yet, I could tell becasue she was holding herself back and her mana wasn't at it's full power, they were both holding back and observing the others movement.
Mona's mana suddenly surged and her weapon glowed all of a sudden, in a flash of bright light she swung her sword and a slash of light flashed from her weapon and flew towards Cornelia, and Cornelia barely reacted and it cut a bit of her arm causing her to bleed a little.

Mona had infused her weapon with her mana and when she swung it, she released her mana in a light slash magic spell at the exact moment her weapon swings, the control and precision needed to do this can only be done by fairies with the highest control of their mana or by humans who are only slightly inferior when it comes to control.
The power and strength wasn't amazing but still good, and not to mention the speed of that light slash.
Mona's mana surged and grew and her entire body was now glowing, she bent down and charged forward with her weapon behind her ready to swing forward and Cornelia leaped into the air.
Mona with all her force swung upwards with her weapon and Cornelia aimed her rapier down at Mona and using gravity she fell back from the air and thrusted the rapier towards Mona and they clashed again.
The clash of Mona's mana and Cornelia's chakra caused a mini energy shock wave that would make any normal person feel a bit sick due to the uneven energy, even I felt a little uneasy due to the disturbance of magic rippling throughout the air.
Cornelia landed on the ground and using the force she landed, she rocketed towards Mona but was blocked by Mona's weapon again causing more shock waves and they continued to clash against each other.
This continued for over 10 minutes as they just repeatedly swung their weapons at each other but were blocked by the other's weapon and it was an amazing tense fight, one wrong move and it would be all over.
This wasn't just a sword fight, it was also a magic fight. Both of them were using magic to enhance themselves and boost their abilities making the fight even more crazy, every time they took a step the ground explode where their footsteps used to be and they were both flying around the field at an insane speed.
I noticed the two of them were having a conversation with each other, they're mouths were moving and they were saying something but they were too far and the sounds of the battle muffled up what the were saying so I couldn't hear anything. Though it looked like the two of them were arguing...
After a while, they started to slow down a bit after depleting a bit of their stamina and their energy.
But then...
...suddenly the entire battlefield was dyed in a bright white light covering everything. A flash, many flashes of white light exploded out of nowhere blinding most of the crowd and including Cornelia.
Using the fact Cornelia was blinded Mona sneaked up on her and struck her down.
Mona had won.
At first I had no idea what happened, why did a bunch of white flashes of light explode from? But then I saw the traces of mana that Mona had left behind, I figured it out: as the two of them (Cornelia and Mona) were fighting and were clashing blades, running around the field, Mona had create a bunch of mini light bombs made from her condensed mana.
She planted them all over the field and didn't detonate them until all of them were planted, they were flash bombs basically but made from her mana as a spell.
When the time was right, she detonated her flash bomb spells and blinded Cornelia so she could get a strike in and it worked perfectly.
Very clever, I might steal this idea... ehehehehehehehe....
