Ludius awoke from his slumber on the old wooden bed that Ed and Sandra owned in the spare room of their house.

Their house was home to the only apothecary in the area, and to keep up with demand the father and daughter duo often travel led to the forest to collect herbs.

His back aching Ludius attached his sword to his belt and went downstairs.

"Oh, Ludius you're down already! You only just went upstairs.", said a confused Ed washing up the cutlery and plates from their dinner.

"Er y-yeah. I just wasn't tired yet you know. I was going to head out for a bit."

"Okay, but come back before morning. We'll treat you some breakfast... By the way what happened to my daughter in that forest. She's telling me not to worry but I need to know!"

"Alright. Some bear covered in scars was closing in on her so I killed it."

Suddenly Ed dropped the plate and rag he was holding in his hands. His mouth was agape and his eyes were no better.

"S-Scarface is dead?.... Hallelujah!!!", Ed jumped up in the air and started laughing.

"Ha, ha, hooo. So~ how did you kill him. I expect it was quite the fight. Many bands of adventurers had gone after him before but none had managed to kill him till now. So how did you do it?!",

"I sort of just cut its arms off and then lopped the head off afterwards.", Ludius said bluntly.

"You weren't injured?"

"No"

... Come back in the morning I'll take you to the adventurers guild. They could do with someone like you, I assume your not a member yet?"

"No."

"Good! See you in the morning then."

Ludius stepped out onto the night time streets of the village. He wanted to just find a quiet place to think and maybe buy some new things from the points store.

It was quite dark and only the pale moon lit up the dirt streets. There were a few people dressed in armor and carrying weapons walking around or going into a nearby tavern. To which Ludius walked directly away from. Ludius wasn't fond of large groups of people since years and years ago, he didn't like how they mocked him and compared their lives to his.

Anyway, Ludius went over to the center of town where in a large square was an old birch tree with benches all around. Ludius, instead of sitting on one of the benches, swiftly climbed the old birch tree and sat high in it's branches away from the ground.

Comfortable, Ludius began to ponder.

"I must have bought too many points to start off with, I'll need to look for something to test my strength on later...
