《Welcome To Terminus》Chapter 39 - S-S-SO MANY! THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM

"S-S-SO MANY! THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM!!" Jade stammered as she looked at the scene in front of her.
As far as her sight passed, she could see awakens roaming around. There were many of them. Too many to even count.
Sam, on the other hand, was calm as he spoke "What you are seeing is not even 0.1% of them. On the day when I came back, this whole city was filled with them. It's not any better right now, but still, their numbers have diminished by many times."
Then he looked at Jade and continued, "Now you get it. Nowhere is safe anymore. Our only choice is Sector-M, and to get there alive, all of us need to fight, protect ourselves and our friends.”
“We don't have any choice in this. Sooner or later, we need to fight. Otherwise, we will die just like other humans.”
“Right now, we have protection, Jade. This is the most suitable time to get used to these awakens, to get familiar with them, to get rid of us our all fears, if we didn't take advantage now. Then later, we will surely regret it.”
“This is why Chris, Lucy, Matt, and I are coming out every day and killing these monsters. Even though we know their numbers won't decline even if we kill and kill and kill them continuously, but we will get stronger. And the more powerful we are, the safer we will be. We all will be."
Jade took a deep breath as she nodded her head " I get it, brother. Now, I know what you were trying to tell me. I will do my best, brother."
Sam smiled and nodded his head " We will start by killing 'Normal Grade' awaken. Let's go."

Jade nodded as she followed Sam from behind.
Sam brought her to the South direction where there were many houses. The terrain itself was to their advantage. Congested, many ‘Normal Grade’ awakens, and less ‘Rare Rank’ awakens. This was the best place to train Jade right now.
"Why are we here, brother?" Jade whispered as she looked where they were.
Sam jumped from roof to roof and brought her on top of one of the small houses.
The house was small. It must have a hall on the ground floor, a kitchen, and two rooms on the first floor. That’s it.
"Cuz this is the best place to found a loner awaken.”
“Listen, Jade, even though awakens have numbers, we humans have our brains. We need to take as much benefit of it as we can.”
“First, you need to find the terrain which is most suitable for you. Secondly, make a plan, how can you bring the awaken where you want him to.”
“Thirdly, which attack are you gonna use? Fourthly, what if something outside of your plan happened. Do you have a backup plan for it?”
“Fifth, you always must have a run-away plan. The moment things get out of your hands, you need to run. But you need to know which way is the best for you.”
“You need to remember all these things before killing, and only then you should start killing those monsters." Sam explained patiently whatever he learned while killing monsters to Jade.
Jade also listened carefully and nodded her head " What if we don't have time to make a plan at all and the awakens came attacking us out of nowhere? What then?"
"Take the best way possible then. Keep yourself safe and protect whoever is near to you. But only those whom you know. Who you trust? Regroup as quickly as possible.”

“While killing monsters, memorize which move has what cooldown. When can you use that move again? Which move to use when.”
“And again, find a place which is best to your advantage. Where your killing power will double and monsters sink. Like stairs, doors, etc. which can keep the monsters busy and make it difficult for them to get close to you.”
“And one last and most important thing. Do not stop and do not hesitate when killing these monsters. You see them, you kill them. Uncertainty means getting yourself killed or others. So, do not hesitate, ever. Understand."
Jade nodded.
"Good girl. Now stand at the stairs. Knock the wall lightly five times. If there is any awaken in the house, it will come towards you, and you just need to point your gun, aim at its head, and fire it until it drops a card. Remember, aim at its head. Their brain is their powerhouse. Until it's safe, they won't die." Sam explained.
Jade nodded in understanding and spoke, "I am ready, brother."
Sam also nodded " Good girl. Now knock on the wall. Do not worry. Brother is here to keep you safe, but you need to kill it. Do not hesitate. You must not falter."
Jade again nodded and took a deep breath. She knocked on the wooden wall five times.
The sound rang inside the house.
Knock. Knock. Knock. Knock. Knock.
"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR…….." The sound of a small growling was heard.
Jade felt her whole-body shiver in fear, but she restrained her emotions by taking deep breaths. Her right hand had a gun on it as she was pointing downwards, waiting for the monster to come.
Sam nodded his head in satisfaction. Jade's posture was good. Gun was directly in front of her eyes, and she was patiently waiting for her moment.
Even though he could see Jade's body shivering but he was still satisfied. For fucks sake, she was just a twelve-year-old kid. Not everyone is like Matt.
The sound of small growling and thumping was coming from downstairs. Every step the awaken took made small noises. The closer the noise came, the faster Jade's heartbeat.
Her heat was now beating so fast that she could hear it completely. Even Sam could hear it. But it was normal. Completely normal.
And then, suddenly, the sound of thumping and growling stopped.
Jade waited, but the sound never came. She relaxed; her heartbeat slowed down. She turned towards Sam and whispered, "Maybe it left."
And the moment she whispered; a loud growl heard "GARRRRRRRRRRR………." And the loud thumping voice came and awaken came running as it hurriedly started climbing the stairs.

An Infinite Recursion of Time
I always wanted to be taken to another world, and as they say, there are no atheists in the foxhole that we call real life. I prayed, and prayed, and prayed until one day, I opened my eyes to see my dream had come true. I also saw the axe of an orc bearing down on my skull. You win some, you lose some. A time-loop fantasy story written after getting into litRPGs a bit. I wondered what it would be like if I just went and wrote a story about all the things I liked in web fiction without holding back: time loops, RPG stats, certain character archetypes, and harems played straight. Please be warned of lewd descriptions and depraved sexualization. If nothing else, this will be a sincere work. Completed EPUB (exported directly from Royal Road with no changes; let me know if there's any problems): https://mega.nz/file/Kxg11CoB#2J-rZ7MKSnd4UpNwx257_mjecMQ0wpc8-ixjYIse_40
