《Tales of Idiots.》17. Break In!

"Quiet down there you fucking idiots."
Lupin whispers angrily at Basil and Cyan. Lester and Drake were on a ladder that led to the vents watching Lupin, Basil, and Cyan.
"Why going in there?" A voice came from an earpiece in Lupin's right ear.
"Nothing. Just some idiots fooling around," Lupin whisper.
"Okay, just get caught," The voice said.
"Yes, I got it," Lupin said. He then turns to everyone else. "Come let's go and fool around," He said.
"""""Got it."""""
Everyone then proceeds to climb into the vents.
How did we get this? Well, rewinds time to find out.
*Severals Hours Before*
"Grimnarl said that it would take two more days for the armor to be finish."
Drake nod as he moved a chess piece across the board. "It has taken us ten days and around two hundred requests to earn back around two percent of what we used to get Grimnarl to make the armors," He said.
After Basil scares the earth drake to death, Drake and Lupin were called to cut the drake in pieces, Lupin tells them to drag it to Grimnarl's shop and introduce them to Grimnarl.
Grimnarl offers them a lower price to make the armors after he learned how the drake died while laughing.
They had also had to pay some fines with Basil ignoring the guardsmen's orders.
"It seems that Peter hasn't found anything since he hasn't contact us for two days," Drake said as he watches Lupin moves a chess piece.
"True," Lupin said nodding.
*Ring* *Ring* *Ring* *Ring*
Lupin's phone was ringing.
He took his phone from the table, where he and Drake were playing chess on and took a look at it as everyone in the room stares at him.
"It's Peter," He said as he answers the call. "Hello?" Lupin asks.
"Lupin, this is Peter," Peter said from the phone. "I found something and I need you and the others to come to me. To prevent unwanted people from eavesdropping in," He continues.
"I need you to go to West Landron Street and go to a bar which has a giant bear on its sign. Enter it, go to the bartender and say, 'Blackjack and hookers.' I'll meet you guys, got it," Peter said.
"Got it," Lupin said.
There was a moment of silence before Peter responds. "Good, and I gotta go, bye." He then hung up.
After a few moments of silence, Brick said, "Well, you guys can go since I got a business to run."

"Your only customers are us," Lester said deadpan.
"Oh, fuck off," Brick said rolling his eyes.
"Haha, come let's go," Lupin said chuckling.
*On West Landron Street*
The Bronze Turtle Party and Cyan were on West Landron Street and were looking around.
"Let's see...Where is the giant bear sign," Lupin said.
"It's right there," Basil points to a bar that was small and overshadowed by a big coffee shop brand and another bar that seems to be much more popular than the smaller bar as it was full of people coming in and out where the smaller bar has no one going in.
"Ah," Lupin said.
"Quite a small place huh," Lester said squinting. "Must be why Peter told us to meet him there."
They then enter the bar.
The bar was mostly quiet with jazz music playing. There some tables that were empty. Behind the bar top, was the bartender who had a magnificent mustache, cleaning a wine glass.
Everyone took a seat at the bar top.
"What is your choice of drink?" The bartender asks.
"Ummm...What is it we were supposed to say?" Lupin whisper to Drake.
"Blackjack and hookers," Drake whisper back.
Lupin turns to faces the bartender. "Blackjack and hookers for us," Lupin said.
"I see, I see," The bartender said nodding. He then put down the glass and the cloth he was cleaning the glass and gestures for the adventurers to follow him.
The adventurers obliged.
The bartender led the adventurers to the back of the bars and open a door into a small room for them to enter.
They enter the small room first with the bartender coming in second. The bartender closes the door and opens a small panel that has several buttons and presses one of them.
Handrails appear into the room from the wall as the small room starts to move down.
The small room was an elevator.
This surprised the adventurers.
"Wait, this is an elevator!" Cyan asks surprised.
"It's actually not that uncommon," Drake replied looking at the bartender. "A lot of bars, have a secret room that can be accessed through elevators, teleporter for the rich bars, or just stairs that customers can use for if a certain price is paid."
"Really?"
The bartender smile. "That is correct. Mr. Hornlock had reserved a room for all of you," He said. "Ah, we're here."
The elevator had arrived at its destination.
The door opens to a room which the adventurers enter and saw Peter sitting there by one of the tables with a glass of wine.

The room has marble pillars at the corners of the room and decoration depicting monsters and heroes fighting on walls.
"Good to you made it," Peter said when he noticed them and gestures for them to take a seat. "Don't worry about Larry, he took an oath," He said nodding to the bartender.
"And I presume Brick coming since he has to run his inn?" Peter asks.
"Yes, and what do you wanna talk about?" Lupin asks.
Peter took a sip of his glass of wine. "I need you to break into a building," He said.
....
....
....
"What?" Lupin asks confused. "You want us to break into a building?"
The other adventurers were looking at each other confused as well.
"Let me explain," Peter said. "I went to slums investigate and found men in black with symbols of black ashes patrolling a building with cars coming in and out carrying something and I need you to break in to find what they are delivering," He took another sip of his wine.
"You really expect us to break into a building that is being guarded?" Lester asks. "And don't you have a job?" He added.
"There aren't many crimes being committed here," Peter said. "And I will pay you." He went under the table and pull out a small duffle bag and unzipped it.
Inside were full of gold and silver coins.
Everyone stares at the pile of coins.
Lupin whistle.
"That is a lot of money," Drake mutters.
Basil rub his eyes.
Cyan was speechless.
"Where the hell do you manage to get this much money?" Lester asks. "You could just hire someone to do this for you!" He yells.
"No one would take the job," Peter said. "And I presume this is enough money?"
The adventurers huddle together.
"We will take it," Lupin said.
"Good," Peter nods. "I'll meet you at the inn, you guys can leave," He then his glass of wine.
*At Night*
"Here's your gears."
Peter hands them duffle bags.
The adventurers open the duffle bags to see masks, night goggles, crowbars, black clothing, earpieces, gloves, and cameras. There was also a chip.
"To make sure you don't get caught," Peter said. "And before you ask, I got this from one of my acquaintances," He said smiling.
"Yeah, thanks," Lester mutter as he put on one of the earpieces.
"Brick and I will be giving you directions if you managed to insert the chip into the building's security system, if they have one," Peter said ignoring Brick's sound of surprise. "If you found what the packages that they are delivering, take pictures and the camera will upload it to the computer," He added pointing to the computer he brought with him.
After the adventurers finish putting on the equipment and armed with their weapons, they then went into a car Peter brought with him that had no license plate and start driving.
"I feel like we're doing a heist," Cyan said as they drove.
"Alright, stop the car and park it somewhere when you're near the slums and walk towards a building that has people in black suits patrolling it," Peter said over the earpieces.
"Got it," Lester as he parks the car into an empty building.
Everyone got out of the car and began exploring the slums.
"There is it," Lupin said pointing to a building. It had cars coming in and out of it.
"Let's go," Drake said.
They began sneaking towards.
....
....
"Hey, John." A guard asks another
"Yeah? What is it?" The other guard replied.
"What are we guarding?" The guard asks looking at the room they watching over.
"None of my business," The other guard said. "And I don't think I wanna find out," He added.
"Why?"
"Haven't you heard?"
"Heard what?"
"You haven't heard? Well, let me tell you. There are rumors of people going insane after peeking into these rooms," The other guard said pointing to the room they were guarding. "Turns out that ther—"
*Creak*
The guards became alert and point their guns to the left and right.
After a moment of silence, the guards relax.
"Must be the wind creaking the old wood doors at the entrance. This is building is old and they haven't replaced the floor of parts of this buildings," The other guard said.
"True," The guard said.
Between two rooms of the building was Basil trying not to make a noise as Cyan covers his mouth, Lester closing his eyes and ears, and Lupin closing his eyes.
"You guys good?" Peter asks from the earpieces.
"We're good," Lupin whisper. "Just made a little noise."
"I see. Be careful," Peter said.
"Yes, sir," Cyan whisper.
The adventurers close a door as quietly they could and begin to continue sneaking, not before checking for guards.
They were in.
