"We are so fuck."
The man leaps toward the adventurers causing them to scatter. The man's nails scratch the floor leaving scratch marks. The man turns around to faces the adventurers still having a smile.
"Why don't we introduce ourselves?" He said. "The name's Ordell." Without letting the adventurers to speak a word, Ordell ran toward Cyan, he aims his nails to impale Cyan.
Cyan panic and tries to run away but trip and fell onto his bottom. Ordell's nails stuck themselves into the wall, missing Cyan.
Ordell looks down to see Cyan pointing his guns at him. Cyan uploads his bullets into Ordell's face causing him to recoil in pain.
Getting up, Cyan ran.
Cyan ran toward the door that leads the way out, got out of the room, and shut the door. Once he was out of the room, Cyan saw the other standing in front of him, looking at each other awkwardly.
Cyan look at them and then at the door he ran out from and then back at them. "Did you just use me as bait?" He asks.
"Not exactly," Drake said. "Just we were already running toward the door and that guy just ran at you giving time," He explains shrugging.
"Though usually, Lester is the one being targeted," Basil added.
"We don't mention that," Lester said.
"I think you guys you should just run," Peter said. "This mission is a still technically a success and so, there's no need for you guys to risks your life staying in the building.
"That's true," Cyan said. Suddenly, the door behind them went flying from its hinges as Ordell walks out of the room, his arms now have bone-like armor sprouting out. The bullet wounds that Cyan gave him were all healed.
Ordell faces the adventurers. His face rips open to reveal one giant eye that was hidden behind rows of teeth that were looking straight at them.

"I think we should end this right here and now," Ordell growls. Then, there was something was in front of his face. "Hmmm?" Ordell's eyes then went wide in realization.
The object exploded right in his face.
*BOOM*
"I always carry explosives on me," Lester mutter as he ran.
As the adventurers ran through the hallway, they could hear Ordell roaring in anger.
"GUARDS! CATCH THE INTRUDERS OR ELSE YOUR HEAD WILL BE OFF YOUR FUCKING SHOULDER!" Ordell roars.
"Oh, we're so fucking dead now," Lester mutters. "We now have both an angry monster and guards after our ass now,"
"You're the one that angers the creepy fucker."
"Let's not talk about that."
"Alright, I got an escape plan for you guys," Peter said. "There should be a crossway coming up, turn left since there'll be fewer guards there, and that where the nearest exit is."
"Got it," Lupin said.
Sure enough, as Peter had said, there was a crossway coming up as the adventurers ran, and just as they were about to go to the left, something rush by them and crashes into the wall.
Pieces of the building's wall blocked the adventurer from going to the left. "Well, we'll have to go the right," Lupin said.
"Yeah..." Peter said.
The adventurers ran to the right as Ordell rush at them. Ordell tears another piece of the wall and threw it at the adventurers. It barely missed them and crashes into the ceiling.
"Oh, fuck," Cyan curses.
Then suddenly, the adventurers could see a closed door.
"There're guards behind the door!" Peter yells.
Basil raises his warhammer and starts to run faster than the other, yelling while he charges at the door.
"INCOMING!" Basil yells.
*Other Side Of The Door*
"Alright people! Behind this door will lead us to the intruders," The captain said. "If we don't manage to catch then well..." He said shaking his head. "We'll be six-feet under the ground. So, got it?"

"Yes, sir!" The guards yell.
"Good!" The captain yells. He then turns to open the door.
"INCOMING!"
"Huh? What was that?" The captain asks.
The door then went flying from its hinges, sending the guards flying along with it. Basil continues running with the rest following after him, stepping on the guards as he did.
"Hahaha!" Lupin laughs.
Drake looks back and became worried. "We got a problem," He said nervously.
"What is it?" Lester asks.
"The one-eye no face creepy fucker is catching up to us," Drake responded.
"Oh yeah, we have a problem!" Cyan panic.
Lester pulls out more explosives more his pocket, he also pulls out several vials of something and threw it behind.
Ordell dodges the explosives, it then explodes behind him. Ordell held up his arm as the vials hit and break his thick bone armor.
What the vials left behind was chemical dust that irritates Ordell's single eye. "Arrgh!" Ordell growls. He then went crazy and rushes blindly at the adventurers slashing his nails, not caring about anything.
Ordell slashes Drake's legs, causing him to grunts with pain as he fell to the ground. Drake grabs his sniper rifle and fires it at Ordell.
Ordell blocks the bullets with his arms and smacks the sniper rifle away from Drake's hands. Ordell raises his hands to impale Drake's head, Drake tilted his head, dodging from being killed, and raises his camera and flashes it at Ordell's open mouth which houses his eye, blinding him.
Ordell grunts in pain. "You litt—" He was interrupted when he was stabbed in the back by Lester.
Lester leaps back and Basil smacks Ordell with his hammer sending him crashing into the wall.
Lupin helps Drake up, Cyan grab Drake's rifle and hand it back to him and start running with Lester and Basil following.
"Urgh," Ordell grunts as he pulls himself out of the wall.
"Sir! Are you alright?" A guard said running to Ordell.
"Shut it."
"Sir, We have man—" The guard start to talk but was unable to finish his sentence before he was killed by Ordell when his head was sliced off by Ordell.
"When I tell you to shut it, you shut it," Ordell growls. He then turns to the other guards that were nearby and orders them to run after the adventurers. "Go after them or else you'll end like him." Ordell points to the dead guard.
Lester threw a flashbang down the hall, blinding the guards, and then Basil charges at the guards carrying a door as a shield.
"I'm running out," Lester mutter as he ran down the hall.
"You guys are nearly out," Peter said.
"Good," Drake said as he fired a shot.
"There's the exist!" Cyan yells.
"Finally!" Lupin shout.
They ran out of the building and hurry back to the car. Piling into the car, Lester starts up the car and starts driving avoiding the main road.
On their way home, they could see guardsmen driving cars to the building, marked by the symbols that show that the cars belong to the guardsmen.
"Back At the Building*
"Where are they!"
Ordell rushes to the exist yelling. Dead bodies of guards that didn't get out of Odell's way litter the floor.
"WHERE ARE THEY! WHERE ARE THEY!" Ordell roars. However, fear soon settled into Ordell and he began quivering in fear.
"H-He's gonna kill me," Ordell whimper.

A world with a strange thing called a leveling system. Current update schedule: Tuesday 10:00 PM NZT Idea I had of an Abyss Watcher from Dark Souls 3 being transported into a LitRPG world. You don't have to know any of the lore from Dark Souls to understand this, however if you want to know more about the lore just google it or something, I can't stop you But it's not like it will be very useful in this story as I plan to not be focused on Dark Souls Lore. As a side note for those reading this while it is ongoing, I will occasionally go back to previous chapters and sometimes add certain elements to the skills and leveling. Not to worry though as I will tell you as to what I have edited in the authors notes, so be sure to pay attention to those when they appear as they may contain information required for continued understanding. Also, if you decide to drop this book then please leave a comment on the chapter you stopped on and tell me what made you stop.

Rimward Bound
Every citizen of the sky-cities of His Majesty's Star-Empire knows that a ship, both sky- and star-, is more then just a few bits of metal. It is the grand sum of it's hull and the crew that sail it. 'Hulls of battle-steel and men to match!' That's what the Navy's recruitment poster's claim at least. Every sailor knows that there is one more component that the city-bound folk ignore at their own peril: the soul of the ship. That it takes both man and hull to make a true ship, and that neither alone serve well or for long. In 8225 Lord Jeffrye Saltonstall the Fourth, Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps, demands semi-automated ships to 'reduce the loss of life among our brave crews', manages to convince the other politicians and bureaucrats to fund them, and gets the Office of Ship Construction to sign off on the ships as structurally sound. Dockyard workers shake their heads at the ships, muttering that they are cursed from birth, even as construction drags on. In 8230 the Explorer, first of her class, is launched. She sets out in 8233 to great fanfare on a trip expected to last six months. Neither she nor her twelve-person crew is ever heard from again. By 8235, the remaining seven Explorers are are commissioned. Lord Saltonstall managed to find crews for six of them but at the cost of mass resignations. The Night Horse, last of the Explorer class, sat in reserve as her sister-ships served well enough despite ill luck and misfortune. The Office of Ship Construction quietly issues notice that no more semi-automated ships are to be built and that all active Semi-automated ships are to be quietly retired and broken up for scrap over the next ten years. The Night Horse, sitting in reserve, is missed due to bureaucratic oversight. In 8250 Lord Ayland Wynstryngham the Eighth assumes the office of Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps. His first act is to issue notice that no ship is to be without crew nor sit in dock or reserve for longer then required for maintenance and upkeep. The Night Horse, all but forgotten, is quietly brought back into active service. Recruiting a crew for her proves another matter entirely. What poor or desperate fool would willingly sign on to crew, much less command, a cursed ship and spend months or years in deep space? Well, you would, of course. Where else is a kid from the gutters going to find that kind of freedom in the service of His Majesty? A [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] 2021.
