"Your imperial majesty! The Fifty-Fourth Infantry Crop has retreated from battle and has suffered heavy losses!"
"What do you mean that they retreated!" General Damarius yell at the messenger scaring him. "They should have been able to defeat those Bronach bastards!"
Putting a hand on the general's shoulder, Odin shook his head. "Now, now, calm down Damarius, you're scaring him." He then turns to the messenger. "Why did the Fifty-Fourth Infantry Crop retreat, what are losses, and why didn't they call for reinforcements.?"
The messenger straightens and clears his throat. "Your imperial majesty, Lieutenant General Mark reported that the reason that they had retreated is due to two individuals that were identified to be Justin the Frantic and Barbara the False Saint. And the losses were 25% of the Fifty-Fourth Infantry Crops being died or missing. As for why Lieutenant General Mark didn't call for reinforcements, it's because his radio was broken by the enemies as he tries to call for reinforcements," He said.
Hearing this, Odin sighs as he sat back on his throne. "I see, you may leave now and tell Lieutenant General Mark to meet me," He said to the messenger.
The messenger nod and leave.
After the messenger left, Damarius turns to Odin and bows down. "I apologize for my rude behavior, your imperial majesty," He apologizes.
"It's all right, after all, it's understandable for you to be so angry," Odin replied.
"Thank you," Damarius said as he stops bowing.
"However, to think that the two would enter the battlefield this early," Odin said. "This is a problem."
"It is a problem," said Chase. "Although it would be nice to see the situation itself. Too bad the news station stop reporting in on the war, would have made things a bit easier."

Odin chuckles. "Although the majority of Bronach is poor, the Royal Family have a hoard of that of a dragon so they could just bribe the news station to keep quiet," He said.
He then saw that Damarius looks confused. "General Damarius, it seems you are confused about something." Despite saying this, Chase already knows what Damarius was confused about.
"It's...It's just that I don't why these two people...Would pose so much danger," Damarius said. Hearing that the Royal Army that he claims were weak could win against them with just the addition of two people shock him. "I just don't know how these humans could exist."
"Ah, Damarius you weren't part of the Sixty Years War, right?" Odin asks.
"Yes," Damarius said.
"I see." Odin then opens a keyboard that was on his throne armchairs and being typing into it.
A screen appears in front of the three with opinions like records. Odin clicks on records and being swiping through it. He stops on one of the records and clicks on it.
"Play Record 342?" The screen asks.
Odin turns to Damarius. "The recording will be low quality," He said. "Also, this recording will explain everything." He then clicks yes.
"Playing Record 342," The screen said.
The screen shows a battlefield of two armies fighting each other. One of the armies was winning. The winning army bears the emblem of the Imperial Army. It seems like a close victory when all of sudden, the Imperial Army begins to get push back.
The recording then shows two individuals fighting the Imperial Army. The two were Justin and Barbara.
Justin was using his sword to cut down the soldiers and then he held his sword up and then the blood of the fallen soldiers and form armor over himself. Magic, arrows, swords were unable to leave a scratch on him.

Barbara was summoning beasts of horror. The beasts had no eyes, one giant mouth, arms, claws, legs, and tentacles and look to be a mixture of different monsters. She was also forming walls of corpses and bones to block arrows and magic.
"Dark magic..." Damarius mutter.
However, the horrifying thing was the soldiers of the Royal Army. They were deformed and were bigger than that of humans. There were foams at the soldier's mouth, their eyes were blood red and their skin was forming scales. Black veins could be seen along their body.
The deformed soldiers rip apart the soldiers of the Imperial Army and roaring like that of a beast
Tbe soldiers of the Imperial Army scream in terror. Some try to run away, other try to fight back and some let themselves to be killed.
The recording then became shaky as it moved and then it stops recording.
"Recording stop," The screen said. The screen then disappears.
Odin turns to Damarius. "And that doesn't even show their full power," he said to Damarius. "They split the earth by using the lives of their own comrades and the people that fought with them spoke of these two using holy magic with bright light and not what we just saw. Also, that recording was during the beginning of my reigns and they haven't aged at all. "
"I-I see..." Damarius said. "Thank you for answering my questions."
Odin nod. "The worst of this is that the Cult of the Righteous One where these come from holds great powers in Bronach and we don't even know how far the cult's influences are or what their true power is," He said.
Damarius bows and left.
He sighs. "Chase, leave and calls the generals, and Spymaster Rose that we're holding a meeting and only to them. Don't let anyone else hear of this."
Chase nod. "Your majesty, may I asks why?"
"It's time for the Prōtegō to enter the war."

Reincarnation: First Monster
Names. To most humans and other savory and less savory creatures, they are important–-an integral part of whom they are. To me, however, it is quite trivial, especially so when you have a strange ability to reincarnate. But that's the least of my problems, considering the life-threatening training and tribulations I have to go through as a baby. Did I also mention that my current mother is a dragon?Warning: Can get quite bloody later on and an indifference to killing and sexual content in the future

The Queen's Guard
Friedrich Schreiner is a proud gefreiter of the Queen's Guard, 2nd Company: the finest fighting infantry on the continent (barring the Temple Guard; but please don't bring that up). Service is honourable but, with the Empire on a peacetime footing, terribly boring. Affairs take a dramatic turn for the worse when a mysterious invader uses a forgotten and taboo magical means to breach the capital, plunging the nation into chaos and endangering the royal family. With events spiraling out of control, Friedrich is entrusted with a critical mission. Will hot lead, cold steel, and his determination be enough to see him through? The Queen's Guard is what I'm calling a black powder fantasy story: it's set in a loose equivalent of the early 18th century (plus or minus a few pieces I decided I wanted or didn't want). Magic exists, but not in a spell-slinging sort of way: it's Earth-shaking undertakings or minor enchantments forged in by master craftsmen, the grand working of a secretive cabal or a slight nudge to the course of a blow. I, the eternal optimist, have a full trilogy in mind. The first book is The Prince's Arquebusier, hence the cover and the title disagreeing! This is my shot at 2021's NaNoWriMo and RR Writathon! I've hitherto been terrible at writing long-form fiction, so this is an effort to break out of that by having some accountability in being supposed to post chapters regularly. Here's hoping it works! I have an outline, but not too much detail. I'll do my best to avoid continuity errors, doing anything glaringly stupid, or otherwise fluffing my lines, but I can't make any promises on that. Please do let me know any feedback! Always happy to improve. [participant in the Nov 2021 Royal Road Writathon challenge]

What do you get when you mix together an uploaded human brain, two different sources of alien technology, and a love for video games? My name is Ash. Thats the only thing about me I'm still sure about. I've been having a rough time of it lately. I used to be human, but I'm definitely not human anymore. For awhile I was a weapon, then a space probe, and now... Well, now, I'm a kind of dungeon core. A space-traveling, alien-hybridized, freaked-out of my artificial mind Dungeon Core. Everyone that might have known human me is long dead. Anyone that finds out what I am now will almost certainly want to make me join them. I'm all alone. And I'm hungry. What the hell am I supposed to do now?

The Card Thief of Culnivar
Deep with the cozy kingdom of Daeton, among the generation-old farmlands and villages, a young farmer’s daughter stumbles upon a dead man. His elaborate clothing has been torn to ribbons, yet his skin remains unblemished. His face is peaceful, and tucked into the hand lying across his chest can be seen a solitary playing card. He is a Ludum Haeres. The last remnant of a Summoner. Numbered among those few capable of changing their destinies. The unseen rulers of the world known as Vesperia, and one of the most powerful creatures in existence. The woman knows none of this. And so, she picks up the card... This is my third novel on Royal Road, the first being "Beyond the Horizon's Eye", and the second being "The Dawnfire Archives". This story is something of a test in a new genre, that of CardLIT. We'll see how well it succeeds as the story continues. It takes place in a different setting than my other tales, with an entirely new cast of characters. It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.

Perhaps the only thing more deadly then then the demons living in the Wasteland, are the demons living inside Nikodemus. Gaming on a MUD is difficult.
This is a story based on my characters background and journal that I played on a mud (Multi User Dungeon) over the course of several years. Dozens of people play a text based command line game at the same time. I figured I'd try to turn in into a story to see if anyone found it interesting. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. This is my first time so not very experienced. It is a story about how going into a multi player game expecting a typical RPG experience turns into something else because other players are involved.
