-----Riley's POV-----
Riley who had just recovered from most of her injuries using self-healing magic limped over toward the clearing the Deryun had made.
Right as she got there she witnessed John getting slashed across his chest by the Deryun’s claw.
Riley: “JOHN!”
However her yell fell on deaf ears in the next instant, the Deryun bit down right were John was standing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----John's POV-----
John was on the verge of passing out from the immense pain he felt running through his chest but he knew he had to do something, anything ,in order to survive.
As the Deryun’s mouth enveloped him, he caught a glance of something in the roof of its mouth and reached for it.
It was the handle of one of Riley’s throwing knifes John Poured his magic into it forcing it to expand he then grabbed a second embedded knife with his other hand and poured more of his magic into it in the next instant there was a loud *CRACK* as the Deryun’s skull started to break and then *SPLCH POP* its head exploded with a loud squelch and a pop causing blood, bone chunks, and brain matter to spray everywhere.
The instant John saw the sky again he let out a small chuckle and collapsed onto the ground.
Riley was momentarily stunned, one moment she thinks John is getting eaten, the next thing she knows the Deryun’s head exploded and John collapsed in front of its body.
--------Riley's POV--------
Riley: “Well that was Violent.”
She muttered to herself as she began limping as fast as possible towards John’s crumpled form
Riley arrived at John’s side and saw how deep the cut was on his chest.
Riley: “Oh man this looks bad.” *slaps* “JOHN CAN YOU HEAR ME!”
As she slaps his face and yells in his ear she started preforming healing magic on his chest.
Riley: “Ah shoot I used most of my magic preforming self-healing.”
Riley strains herself harder she manages to stop the bleeding when her vision suddenly starts to go dark
Riley: “#$%@ MP exhaustion”
She uses the last of her strength to cut off bits of her robe to use as a wrap for his chest the instant she finishes wrapping his chest she falls unconscious.
-----John's POV-----
John slowly opened his eyes he tried to move a bit and felt an immense pain shoot across his chest causing him to freeze up instantly

John: ‘that’s right I got slashed by the Deryun and killed it mmh I wonder where Riley is.’
John looks down and sees a bandage across his chest along with Riley collapsed on his stomach.
John: “haah she is going to give me so much crap for this.”
It was still pitch black so for fear of more monsters attacking them John slowly got up being careful not to open his wounds.
Once he got up, he slowly and carefully picked Riley up, wincing as he felt a tugging in his wound.
After taking a deep breath, and bracing himself, John started walking back to the cart using his cell phone flash light in order to avoid tripping, and following the massive path of destruction the Deryun made through the forest, he was able to find their fire which was still lit for some reason.
He dropped Riley having used all of his remaining strength and collapsed.
John: “@#$# looks like I over did it.”
He said as his vision turned black.
-----Riley's POV-----
Riley opened her eyes and looked around it was now morning she stretched and yawned but she felt something was off almost instant the events of last night hit her all at once and she stood up and started looking for John.
Seeing John right next to her collapsed and unmoving she immediately checked his pulse.
Riley: “Whew he’s breathing but he has a hell of a fever.”
She checked his bandages and sure enough he had reopened his wounds Riley was still recovering from MP exhaustion
knew she could do nothing right now so her first course of action had to be finding John a healer.
Riley: ‘There’s a village about a half a day’s travel from here if my memory serves me correctly.’
Riley thought to herself however she knew John was in critical condition so time was of the essence.
She bent down and picked John up in a Princess carry and walked over to the cart, she then laid him down in it and hopped on to the driver seat and started off as fast the horses would go.
Riley: “Haah what a pain in the #$% he owes me for this.”
Even though Riley said that she was constantly checking John’s condition making sure he wasn’t dead and using as much healing magic as she could.
4 Hours later the town was finally in site Riley Flipped her hood back over her head, looked down, and sighed at how ripped up the cloak had become.

She checked John’s condition once again and sadly his fever was getting worse and he was starting to make a pained face.
Riley: “Hang in there John we’re almost there.”
Riley stopped her cart right in front of village picked up John and started walking towards what looked like a healers hut.
She stood at the entrance knocked on the door and waited for some one to answer when no one did Riley got a bit mad and kicked open the door.
Riley looked around and spotted the healer sitting down eating a piece of bread the healer calmly stood up and walked towards Riley
Healer: “I’m currently on lunch break please come back later also you smell like a wolf and I have a personal policy never to deal with Wolfkin."
Riley: “KORRRA! No way in HELL did I just come this far to have some pathetic rabbit healer tell me he won’t serve me.”
Healer: “Get out my house before I call the guards!”
And that was the straw that broke the Camel’s back as they say.
Riley set John down, looked the healer right in the eyes and threw a right straight, into his face.
The stunned rabbit man did a triple spin in the air before smashing into the wall.
Riley: “Now I might be Woflkin but my companion is not he’s also in critical condition you want a lunch break that bad? How about I shove that sandwich down your throat and then make you heal him!”
The healer shuddered.
Healer: “Su s-suddenly I’m not hungry anymore very well if you can pay I’ll help”
Riley was emitting killing intent which caused the Healer to shudder again as he walked over to John.
Healer: “See this is why I don’t like Wolfkin”
He muttered to no one in particular.
Riley picked up John again and laid him on the table.
The healer then removed John’s cloak and shirt however when he saw John’s face he immediately paled and started backing away slowly.
Healer: “H-h hu-HUMAN!”
Riley walked in front of the healer and glared daggers at him.
Riley: “Is there a problem mister healer?”
She said menacingly as she cracked her knuckles.
Healer: “They were supposed to have gone extinct! How is one here?”
Riley: “Why don’t you ask him yourself AFTER HE’S HEALED!”
Healer: “Right, right, oof my head this is going to be a rough day.”
The healer walked back over to John and started un-wrapping the bandages when he saw the entirety of the wound he let out a gasp.
Healer: “Th-this is a Deryun claw wound!”
Riley: “Yeah, it is, we killed it right before we came, here how did you know it was a Deryun?”
Healer: “Deryun claws leave the outside of the wound black and dead it makes healing a massive pain, and the antidote requires the claw in question.”
Riley: “Oh great. @#$#”
Healer: “If you could retrieve the claw from the Deryun he can be fully healed the best I can do now is just keep him alive and asleep”
Riley: “Fine you keep him safe and hidden from others and I’ll get the claws. HOWEVER if I come back and he’s dead you can kiss your life goodbye.”
Riley emitted immense Killing Intent while looking at the Healer causing him to shudder.
Healer: “O-okay you have my word I will do my best to keep him protected.”
Satisfied, Riley then ran back to the horse and after removing and hiding the cart, she left.
Thankfully without a cart the horse was incredibly fast and was able to get back to the spot she left in half the time.
Riley: “Whew, at this rate I can make it back by night fall.”
She said to herself after dismounting the horse and following the path of destruction.
Riley: “Man how did John manage to get through this at night there are branches everywhere I don’t recall stories of humans ever having night vision.”
Riley finally entered the clearing where the Deryun was however what she saw next caused her to stop in her tracks.
Riley: “Oh #%[email protected]”
Surrounding the Corpse of the Deryun were 5 small bunny creatures with large fangs, and next to them were 6 legged gigantic bugs.
Riley: “Well here we go.”
