《Lives Of The Immortals - Rise Of The Strongest Magician》CHAPTER 002 - ATTEMPTING ESCAPE

After forming my decision to live, I take a deep breath and muster all the courage I have to throw the sheets off of me and get off the bed.
I take a through look around the room and am once again impressed and slightly intimidated by seeing the luxury in the room which I couldn’t even fathom existed. Ok, I am very intimidated.
I suppress my emotion and look through every furniture and go through everything that I could get my hands on just to find something which I can use as a weapon. But as my luck would have it I found nothing.
But I need something as a weapon, eventhough deep inside my heart I know that even if I manage to find actual weapons they will hardly be of any help.
So in order to satisfy myself I compromise by taking a very fancy looking brush as a weapon and a pillow as my shield. Then I move towards the door.
I take a deep breath before opening the door because anything can be out there. So I keep my makeshift weapons at the ready and bravely step out into the unknown place. I see a few other doors as well but I ignore them for I have to find a way out. After walking around for a while I find a staircase which tells me that I am on the first floor so I quickly but sneakily move towards the stairs.
Upon reaching it I did not immediately go down, instead I checked to see if the coast is clear. Seeing that everything is fine I climb down the stairs and just across the room lays the gateway to my freedom.
So far so good. It seems that I might successfully escape this place.
Once again I look out for anyone that might spot me but I find no one. Such a big place to live yet there are no people here. Not that I am complaining but I just find it odd. So, as sneakily as possible I move towards my freedom and to, even, my surprise I make it.

I proceed to open the door.
“Is this why you were moving around so quietly? Just so you can go out.” I hear a sweet voice of a girl.
As soon as I heard the voice a shock runs through my body and my hand tightly clenches the door’s handle and I was not being able to unclench the handle. All this was caused by fear.
In order to not look guilty, I reply without turning, “Why do you assume I was leaving? I just wanted to see what was behind this big door.”
“Oh! Is that so.” She says indifferently but adds after a pause, “Then why were you sneaking around like that? And why are you not looking at me?”
I hear footsteps of someone climbing down the stairs. Most probably her.
“I was just being polite. Seeing that its night, I did not want to disturb anybody with noises.” I reply trying to sound considerate.
The footsteps stop. Has she gone?
“I see.” She replies me from right behind me.
It shocked me enough to leave the door handle with a sudden jerk and turn around to face her while putting the pillow between us as a shield. For all I know she could be dangerous. And now the only thing between me and her is this pillow.
After turning I take a look at my opponent and my mind goes blank. Yes. Blank.
It’s not that I have been knocked unconscious or anything. It’s just that she is breath taking. That delicate face. Small nose. Heart shaped cherry red lips. Black hair. No wait. Upon looking closely I notice that her hair is dark shade of purple. Her eyes match the color of her hair. She looks perfect.
Never did I thought that I would say this but I am in love.
There is something about her that just makes me want to run upto her and take her into my arms and protect her. Maybe I’ll do just that. Afterall the only thing that stands between me and her is this pillow.

Just when I remove the pillow to reduce the barrier between us, she says to me, “They have been arguing about you since long. Daddy told me to bring you to them when you are up. So… Let’s go.”
And just like that the love of my life turns around and starts walking away from me. So ofcourse I follow.
While following her I feel something inside my mind screaming to me, telling me to control myself. I argue with myself that I am in complete control. But still something doesn’t feel right to me.
While following her I take deep breaths and try to clear my mind of her. I make some progress as I feel my love towards her lessen a little. As my love lessen, her words sink in. Arguments about me?
“Why would they be arguing about me?” I mutter to myself but to my surprise she answers.
“They were arguing whether or not to kill you. Dad says to kill you while ‘HE’ says not.”
Her answer surprises me but it was quickly overshadowed by jealousy over the way she said ‘he’. One thing is for sure that whoever this ‘he’ person is, he is now my rival. NO. An enemy.
What am I thinking? Something is definitely wrong here. I am in a house that may or may not be of a magician and I am probably being led to my death and instead of thinking of ways to escape I am fanaticizing about this girl I just met and declaring people as rivals and enemies.
We reach a door and she stops. I stop as well. I look at her now and notice that her hair color has become a dark shade of red and as she turns to face me I notice that her eyes match her hair. Maybe I noticed wrong.
“You go in here.” She says to me.
“Will you not be coming?” I ask her filled with hope.
She replies me with a sour face, “Daddy told me not to come in HIS presence, ever. I don’t know why he said it but I don’t like it.”
She looks really adorable.
After saying her part she turns around and walks away while I just stare at the departing figure of my new found love. As she walks away I notice that her hair changes its color to a dark shade of blue and I am only left imagining how her eyes might look.
“Hey! Will I see you again?” I ask her as she fades from my vision.
“Hmm! I’ll see you if you survive today.” Was the reply I heard with a beautiful chuckle as I lose sight of her.
It took me a while to get my head back together and the reality sunk in that just next door is where my life and death hangs by a thread. And also that I should have asked her for her name.
I ready my makeshift weapons and proceed towards the door of my judgement. Slowly but with confidence I open the door.
Damn it! I should have knocked. No matter. What’s done, is done. Just proceed with confidence.
So with confidence I step in with my makeshift weapons at the ready showing them that I am not intimidated which is, to be honest, extremely hard to do with a body that is shaking from top to bottom knowing that I am going in with a 50( chance that I’ll be dead.
I look around the room to see that this is one huge room with just a set of chairs and table. The walls are filled with book shelves which is filled with more books than the number of days I might have spent on this world.
Only two people are present in this room. One is sitting on the chair by the window staring outside while the other one is sitting in the middle of the room while writing something with a very beautiful quill.
