《ADEPTAVERSE》8 - First Fury Arc: Red Stained Crystal

"So this is where the coordinates lead, huh." Hugo said with a slight frown. In front of him and Altara was a large cave amidst the forest they stood in. Altara folded his arms, "You think that these Eternal Chrome guys live here?" He asked Hugo, who simply shrugged. Behind them was the car they arrived in, which Hugo locked with a button on the keys before turning around to the cave, starting to walk in. Altara followed with a slight skip.
"It's getting dark..." Altara mumbled, keeping close to Hugo, who stopped walking. Hugo pointed ahead at a dim light that came from around a corner.
"Altara, keep quiet." Hugo mumbled, crouching and sneaking to the corner and peeking around it. Altara waited behind and watched their backs.
Hugo saw a group of men stood around a barrel, they were all smoking. The armor they wore was very similar to what the men from the club wore, being made out of thick leather. Hugo looked back at Altara, who came up behind him. "Three men, just like the ones from the club. I'll take care of them." Hugo summoned his battleaxe, running at the men. Altara saw him do this and decided to stay around the corner. He stared at the floor as he heard a large slam alongside a scream, then a single slash of flesh.
"Alt, let's go." Hugo said, desummoning his battleaxe and started to walk. Altara quickly caught up, ignoring the bloody mess on the floor. They were met with a steel door which was built into a rock wall at the end of the cavern, next to it was a keycard slot. Hugo took out a keycard and swiped it, unlocking the door.
"W-Where did you get that from?" Altara asked, looking at the keycard.

"This? I looted it off one of the bodies, heh." Hugo pocketed the card.
They both walked through the door, leading to a large white room. It was big enough to have around 50 people in it, maybe it was a briefing room of sorts. The door closed behind them, their footsteps echoing as they walked in.
"From a rocky cave to a pitch white room, totally normal." Hugo said sarcastically. He noticed at the end of the room was another door, he started to walk towards it slowly. "Altara, be careful. Having only a few guys here is totally unrealistic." Altara nodded and kept close. "Got it."
The two stopped walking as the door at the end of the room opened, a group of armed men ran out in leather armor, making a line in front of Altara and Hugo. Hugo frowned and stayed in front of Altara, summoning his battleaxe. The line stretched out before them, the men aiming their rifles at them.
"Shit. Altara stay behind me!"
"But Hugo!" Altara tried to talk Hugo into out of fighting but it was already too late, Hugo ran ahead, a light blue crystal shield summoning in his other hand as the men started to shoot. Altara quickly got behind Hugo as they started to shoot, using the shield to protect himself. Hugo soon got close enough to attack, bashing a bandit with the shield and breaking their skull. They fell to the ground as Hugo spun and swung his battleaxe into another bandit's neck, sending them flying into two others. Hugo quickly summoned another smaller shield and gave it to Altara. "Protect yourself and my back!" Altara nodded and took the shield, sweating slightly as he swung the shield over his shoulder to protect his and Hugo's back. Bullets started to ping off it and Altara grunted slightly.

Hugo took care of the ones in front of him with three swings of his axe and turned, running next to Altara and forming a shield wall with him. "Heh..good job Alt!"
Altara was shaking slightly but kept his cool. "W-What about the ones in front of us?" The bullets were hitting their shields.
"No worries." He reached behind him and took a rifle from one of the bodies, firing it over the shield. The men fell except for one, who leaned against the white wall with a wound in his chest. Altara saw this and lowered his shield as Hugo walked up to him, placing a hand on his head and stunning him with lightning magic, which sparked outwards. Altara saw this and quickly looked away.
"Don't worry. He ain't dead." Hugo looked at Altara, walking to him and desummoning the two shields and the battleaxe.
Suddenly the doors the men came through opened again, a large set of stomps approaching...
