《ADEPTAVERSE》10 - First Fury Arc: Konstantine

Altara walked into a hallway, the oversized machete leaning on his shoulder still. "Damn this thing is heavy, but It's effective that's for sure." He spoke to himself, looking at the wound the blade caused in his fight with Kript. There was a door at the end of the brick hallway alongside another on the right wall in the middle of it. Altara tried the door to the right, opening it and walking into an office. It was rather bland, having a box TV in the corner of the room as well as an old wooden desk. The chair behind the desk was pretty large.
"Must have been Kript's." Altara mumbled, walking to the desk and searching through its drawers. He found a rolled-up map. "Perfect." He put it in his jacket's pocket and searched more, finding a key which was slightly rusted. Altara looked over the key and raised a brow. "Seems like this hasn't been used for a long time." He pocketed the key in the same pocket the rolled-up map was in and looked at the old TV in the corner of the room, walking up to it and pressing the power button, It didn't work at all, Altara shrugged and walked out of the room, going to the door at the very end of the hallway.
He slowly walked in, the room smelled of hay and mud. Altara coughed and pointed the machete with two hands as he walked in slowly. The room itself was very dark, a small light source coming from a cage fit enough for a large dog in the middle of the room. Altara's eyes locked onto the cage and walked up to it.
He crouched down and peeked into the cage, leaning on the machete's handle. Altara whistled. "Dogggyyy?~"

No answer.
He frowned and peeked into the cage more...soon noticing a human hand from a mound of hay. Altara's eyes widened when he saw this and quickly tried to get the cage open. Locked. He got the key from his pocket. "Hopefully this is the right key." He hoped to himself as he put the key into the lock, twisting it. The cage popped open and Altara rushed inside, kneeling and moving the hay off of the person inside the cage.
He soon stopped and leaned back, spotting a young woman with short black hair curled up in a ball. She was wearing nothing but a white vest and gray underwear. Altara gulped and poked her cheek, no response. He exhaled before speaking. "Hello??"
The young woman didn't move.
"Goddammit." He picked her up over his shoulder and put his oversized machete over the other, moving out of the cage then out of the room. He soon went back to Hugo, putting the girl down next to him and checking Hugo's pulse, still alive. Altara nodded to himself and looked at the girl, who was now sitting up, staring blankly at Altara with a pair of crimson eyes. Altara froze as he saw this. "Uhm."
The girl slowly looked at the dead bodies, then at Kript's. She slowly and weakly stood up, she was very skinny, but not to the point where you could see her bones in her skin. She walked over to Kript's dead body, picking up one of the men's rifles. She expertly made sure it was loaded with a swift set of movements before unloading a whole magazine into his body. Altara flinched and back up against the wall next to Hugo, standing straight.
The girl picked up another gun and fired the whole magazine into Kript as well before dropping the gun slowly, the gun bouncing off the floor slightly near her bare feet. She stared at Kript before glancing at Altara.

"Did you do this?" She asked, her voice was soft but at the same time had a menacing vibe to it. Her crimson eyes stayed on Altara, who gulped before speaking. "Uhm~ Yes. W-We came here to investigate the people behind the bounties put up against teachers of the Oligarchy of Magik."
The girl looked down at Hugo, before down at Kript.
"So you didn't come here to save me?" She blankly asked.
Altara went pale, looking down. "N..No, we had no idea."
"I see. So they really did leave me to these bandits." She simply said, walking over to Hugo.
"Can we go, please? I don't want to stay here any longer." She looked up at Altara, who stared for a second before nodding. "U-Uhm. Yeah, we can. Let's go." Altara went up to Hugo, trying to pick him up but failing. He sighed and looked at the girl. "C-Could you help me with this? He's pretty heavy."
She looked at him for a second and nodded. "I'll grab his legs, you get his arms."
Altara nodded.
The two eventually made it outside of the cave, putting Hugo in the backseat. The girl got in the passenger seat whilst Altara got in the driver seat, he closed his door and looked at the girl. She was in a state, her short black hair was dirty and her vest and underwear were stained here and there with mud.
She noticed him staring. "You have a lot of questions, I'm sure." She said silently.
"I do, yeah." Altara leaned back in the driver's seat, sighing.
"Hm. My name is Konstantine. I'm 20 years old and was sold to Eternal Chrome by my parents 6 years ago, I was hoping you and the guy with the ponytail in the backseat came here to rescue me under my parent's orders. Even if that did happen I'll kill them both."
Altara simply listened, nervous at Konstantine's threat towards her parents.
Konstantine looked at Altara, her crimson eyes locked. "What do you plan to do with me? Drop me off in the middle of nowhere?"
Altara quickly shook his head. "No no, I'll bring you back to the tower with me." Altara noticed a cut on the left side of Konstantine's neck that went down, going under the vest. He noticed this and quickly looked away, starting the car up.
Konstantine looked forwards, then down at her lap. "I would thank you but I don't wanna be too sure until I feel like I'm safe." She looked at Altara. "Understand?"
Altara quickly nodded. "I understand. Just uhmm.." He looked at her as the car started to go down the dirt path, away from the cave. "Rest, please."
