《ADEPTAVERSE》40 - Dogma Arc: End of Tragedy

"ANSWER ME!!!!" The distraught and hunched over Altara yelled at Nero, whose body was still steaming red magik. Altara kept his greatsword pointed at Nero, who kept his sword by his side in one hand. Altara looked over at his fallen friends before back at Nero, giving a sharp glare.
"Hm...I guess I should give you a history. Considering this is your last day...I will fill you in." Nero looked into Altara's eyes with his red Braveye.
"You are the child of Arkara Dogma. The Emperor who took Daraku's place after the Supreme War. But, his reign was cut short.."
Nero pointed to himself with his thumb.
"Because I killed him."
Altara's hands started to shake, still pointing his weapon at Nero.
"He beat me in the war inside of the war; the battle over who shall be the emperor after the war had ended. And you see before Daraku's death IT WAS ME who was chosen. But no...the elders of the Dogma family had decided that this would be a perfect chance to find the "absolute emperor" as they called it. One who would be everlasting in their reign. But no, that bastard ARKARA took it from me. I had been raised all my life to become emperor. I was the one who had been chosen yet fate dragged it away from me. So I started to pick out the other side of the Dogma family one by one, and I had soon built up a team of supporters who had assisted in getting me to where I am now. Your parents, Arkana and Shinra, had dropped you off at that orphanage before I could slit your sorry throat alongside theirs. I could never find you, Altara. What brings you here is fate playing on my side, finally it knows who the true emperor is."
At this point, Altara was having a full mental breakdown. He didn't know what was real anymore, this truth he had suddenly been confronted with...it was beyond comprehension. He zoned out at Nero's glowing eyes, his body shaking and his eyes wide.

"And that is why I will kill you now. So I can live this life of immortality and rule Adepta as the absolute emperor. No more false emperors..." Nero slowly pointed his sword at Altara, who didn't move at all.
"This is a mercy."
A low hum appeared behind Nero, and suddenly Altara flew past him. Landing next to Kry. This woke Altara up from his trance, he slowly looked at Kry, lying a few meters away from him.
"A-Altara..." Kry's voice was faded and whispery, he pointed weakly at Altara whilst lying on his back. "Touch...my finger, my fellow...astrologist."
Altara looked at Kry, nodding slowly and reaching out to him.

...
Altara felt energy filling him, his nose bleeding as new information slowly entered his mind...but before he could gain any more insight...Kry was stabbed in the back by Nero's greatsword. Kry's eyes widened as this happened, he coughed blood..slowly looking at Altara.
"I have given you as..much as I can...you...can do it, Alt..."
Cough...
Paf...
Kry fell lifeless, his dead eyes looking at Altara.
"K-Kry?...Wake up!...Kr-"
Altara reached out to Kry, but was kicked in the face by Nero who was standing over him. Altara flew back a few meters and coughed blood.
"No time to mourn..nephew."
Altara looked up at the sky, before slowly standing up. His back was facing Nero. "I know..I know everything.."
"Hm?" Nero stopped, looking at Altara from a distance with his blade over his shoulder.
"And now my eyes have been opened..."
Altara slowly looked around at Nero, glaring at him.
"I will use my new found fury to kill you. Nero."
Altara's eyes were blazing red, much like Nero's. Except they were much more firey and bright. His upper golden canines had expanded down to look like the fangs over a beast, hanging over his bottom lips. The wind suddenly picked up, a single tear running down Altara's cheek as it did, sparking off in the wind as it reached the bottom.

"So you have found your true will...hm. You wanting to kill me is no match for my need to create a more unified and powerful Adepta. That is how a Braveye has strengthened after all, and I will overpower you, ALTARAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"You don't care about Adepta. You are nothing but a sociopathic war criminal! It was your fault..now I know that as a Dogma, I have this power..that I am going to use to end your life!"
"EMPEROR!"
Nero split up the walls of reality once more. He started to run at him and Altara started to run at him as well. The two clashing with their greatswords as they did. Altara slowly overpowered Nero, but Nero closed his eyes.
...
Nero had paused reality, walking behind Altara and opening his eyes once more, facing away from him. He aimed to dig his greatsword in Altara's back. But instead of his blade meeting flesh, it met a hard material. Nero's eyes widened and inside of the gray reality outside of his observation, Altara blocked Nero's blow. Nero swiftly turned around, looking at Altara. "W...What?!"
Altara stood there, his Braveye blazing. "You overestimate your own mind..."
"His need to kill me...is stronger than that of my need to unify the planet under one banner?!" Nero thought, a drop of sweat pouring down the side of his head.
Altara stared at Nero, his extended canines shining in the paused sunlight.
"Emperor."
Altara mumbled.
Despite Nero's Braveye being active, Altara's had overpowered it. His need to kill Nero was beyond everything to him now. Beyond even Nero's sociopathic motivations. The paused Nero looked in horror at Altara just as Altara did when he was paused as Nero cut his friends down.
Altara slowly walked up to Nero, walking with his blade extended in front of him. He slowly drove the blade into Nero's chest, before ripping straight across it. He then took the blade out, deactivating the effect of the Braveye.
Nero screamed in pain and fell to the floor, his Braveye deactivating as well.
"How is it? The pain?"
"ARGHHH!" Nero responded with a scream of pain, clenching the wound in his chest.
"That is what my friends felt...they were helpless just like you are right now."
Altara slowly looked to his side at a pebble in the ground, he focused on it and thought of Kry...and his final words to him. The pebble slowly lifted off the ground, going towards Altara. Altara put his hand out to it and landed it in his hand, his nose bleeding from the strain of it.
Suddenly red magik started to glow from Nero's left hand, charging up an orb. Altara grimaced and sent the pebble flying into Nero's left shoulder with the Gravity Magik. This caused Nero to stop charging the orb, screaming in pain more.
"You...you fucking pig of a child..it was me who was meant to..to be invincible...I didn't come this far, just to be KILLED BY Y-"
CRACK..CRACKKK...SPLIT!
Altara dragged the pebble which was inside Nero's shoulder through his collar bone and into his neck. Nero coughed out blood and looked Altara in the eye. Altara then dragged the pebble back out towards him..straight through Nero's throat.
"Goodbye, uncle."
Nero drew his last breath...and died.

The wind blew through the unpaused area...Nero's greatsword desummoning with his death as the red crystal-like particles flew past Altara who looked into the distance, blowing his biker's jacket slightly alongside his black hair. Altara's canines went back to normal size as his Braveye vanished, desummoning his greatsword. Altara stopped zoning out into the distance and quickly ran to Hugo and Konstantine, pulling out Konstantine's potion and healing her. He then looked at Hugo, taking out his own potion and pouring it on his wound.
..He then looked over at Kry, crawling over to him and checking his pulse. Altara's eyes filled up with tears once more as he slowly closed Kry's eyes with his shaky hand. "Hahh...hahh..."
Altara wept and mourned the death of his friend...
.......
"ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
