《ADEPTAVERSE》59 - Horned Man's Halo Arc: SINS On Their Backs

"Trinita..have you ever killed someone?" Kruger asked, driving at a high speed down a highway through a grassy plain. Trinita was sat next to him, her green eyes locked ahead just under her visor cap.
"Killed someone..? Why do you ask?" She asked plainly, her eyes locked on the road as she crossed her arms across her chest.
"Because I've never seen you kill anyone. Might not help that we've not fought alongside eachother before, you're mostly with Axel. Maybe I should ask him.." Kruger grinned and glanced at Trinita.
"Maybe I should tell him about the time you betrayed the Kalamitus as they were being destroyed? It will give him an idea of how much of a coward you are. Your magik isn't even your own, it was a gift." Trinita shot a mean glance at Kruger, who looked at Trinita, his eyes glowing a faint orange.
"Focus on the road, Kruger." Trinita strictly told Kruger, fearless with her tone. Kruger slowly looked at the road once more, his eyes going back to their normal deadpan blue as he looked ahead. He stepped on the gas and grimaced, the grey car roaring down the highway.
It has been three days since the attack on the Tower of Magik.
Inside of Tathan City, the city of the Alter-Elves, was a large black van with tinted windows. Inside was Grimjak and Axel. The blindfolded man was sat in the driver's seat, Grimjak in the passenger's.
"Trinita and Kruger will be here soon." Axel mumbled as he walked to the back of the van, squatting at a laptop to the side. "Zedarka told us this was the place, the place with a list of mysterious artifacts in this country."
Grimjak looked back from his seat at Axel. "And all are held by the Tathan military, yes? I mean if this is the place that lists all the locations of mysterious artifacts then it must be extremely well guarded." Grimjak looked out his tinted window at a large skyscraper, the largest in the whole city.

"We simply need to sneak in as a group, go to their servers, and identify anything resembling a halo on them." Axel typed on his laptop, sending a message to someone.
"Who are you messaging?"
"Trinita. I'm asking how far her and Kruger are.."
"Why would we go in two different vehicles anyways?"
"Less suspicious, we can't risk anything."
Axel then stood up. "They're almost here." He then walked to his seat and sat next to Grimjak, who he looked at.
"This operation will do you good. I have doubts we won't get out of there undetected, so it is good that you'll have something to hack and slash at on the way out. It'll strain your magik and make it stronger." Axel gave a slight smile after talking, Grimjak responded with a straight face.
"Alter-Elves are naturally weaker than most humans, yet their average IQ is slightly higher. What they lack in strength they may have in technique, and the fact they have created the majority of martial arts on Adepta. Technique ain't my thing..I prefer to get it over and done with." Grimjak looked back at the skyscraper through his tinted window. "Most technique is thrown out the window during a fight anyways, all you do in a fight is survive in the moment."
"And what about Hugo?" Axel simply asked, looking over at him still. Grimjak remained silent for a long moment, before looking at Axel with a small frown. "What about him? That hobo bastard only has one thing over me; strength. His raw strength is what makes him stronger, not just physical but magikal as well."
"You're talking like that isn't very important. He has defeated you twice, Grimjak. After we killed his friend, the young man with the golden canines, I have no doubt he and some others will be on our back. Next time he will kill you." Axel itched his cheek and adjusted his blindfold, his white fringe hanging over it.

"I have been training for this mission the past few days. I will train even further after it in preperation." Grimjak sighed in frustration as the laptop pinged, Axel going to it instantly.
"They're coming up the street now. Get your vest on, Grimjak." Axel opened a large box and gave Grimjak a bulletbroof vest, both of them putting them on under their top layer of clothing. Axel then took out two semi-automatic silenced pistols, giving one to Grimjak. "One magazine of sixteen bullets, use it in emergencies."
"Why don't we use magik?"
"Do you have any ranged techniques?" Axel asked in response.
Grimjak rolled his eyes and grabbed a holster from the box, attaching it to his upper waist and hiding it inside his jacket with the pistol inside. "Whatever."
Across the street a gray car parked. Axel opened the back of the van and looked at Grimjak. "Remember the plan?"
"Yeah, back entrance in two groups whilst the guards at the front of the building are changing shifts in so they don't see us walk to the back in.." Grimjak checked his watch. "..two minutes."
Axel grinned and nodded, hopping out the open back of the truck, Grimjak following. Axel closed the truck and waited for the street to clear, him and Grimjak going across to Kruger and Trinita's car on the other side of the road, standing on the sidewalk.
Kruger and Trinita got out the grey car and stepped onto the sidewalk, both of them facing Grimjak and Axel.
"Guards have gone inside; they're changing shifts. Let's go." Axel lead the three down the side of the skyscraper between it and a building, all four of them having a casual aura to them.
"Grimjak, with me to the eastern back entrance. Kruger and Trinita will go through the western entrance...and remember guys, use your pistols unless you're caught! Magik will make too much noise."
Grimjak extended his right hand towards his face, his nails extending and steaming red. "Good thing my babies are silent~"
Axel took out a walkie-talkie, talking directly into it. "Zedarka, we will commence now." He then put his walkie-talkie away, the two groups of two walking through their back entrances respectively.
"Remember. We are here to extract data, not kill."
