Chapter 1
Part 2
I’d have liked to experience the life of a normal elementary school student, singing songs and brawling with others brats. Yes, it would have been fun. Evidently, if that little dream were to turn true, I wouldn’t be traveling with a bunch of brats who are crying for their mommies all the day while I’m drugged and drooling all over the place.
What could I say? I didn’t even have a mother that would come to save me, so it’s pointless for me to cry. Perhaps my father would come if he were to know the true value of the book I’m holding in my hands. Now that I think about it, isn’t it weird that no one took the book when they captured? Or Why am I still holding it to begin with?
I guess they’re just idiots and my fingers are strong. As if I would believe that crap…. Wait! In the moment I thought about losing grip of the book, it disappeared!
Now I can understand why they wanted to capture me so stubbornly. This book is one of those weird books that form blood pacts with the owner. It can be only read by the owner and it’s registered in my mind, which means that I can read it without materializing it. It’s useful, but it can’t turn into a loli as in the TV shows I’ve seen. It doesn’t have a consciousness to begin with, so it would be stupid if it suddenly began to call me Master.
During some minutes, I tried to read the book. But I couldn’t understand any word in this book. It seems to be written into an ancient language and the pictures in it are too fuzzy.
My head was hurting, my sight was blurry, and my body felt like a sack of meat ready to be delivered. When I glance at the guards in charge of “protecting us”, the only thing I could see were their sadistic smiles. The suffocated pig is kicking a guard who is curled on the floor. But for some reason he’s not wearing a smile on his face like the guards and is frowning instead. Well, one doesn’t have to be a Sadist to do the job after all.

Then, I tried to focus my sight on the guard curling on the floor. I could see some tears coming out of the man’s eyes while he asked for mercy. But the suffocated pig continued to ignore his pleas.
The Empire’s soldiers were laughing as they were watching the spectacle. I doubt that they have the opportunity to see such thing so often, given that they seemed to be enjoying it.
Some soldiers were whispering something about a guard killing a valuable weapon. How can you kill a weapon in the first place? It’s not like someone would waste his precious time to explain such things to an eight year old brat such as myself anyway.
At this point, my mind seemed a web made by a drunken spider. I couldn’t understand anything of what is happening around me, I just wanted to lie down and take a good nap. In such situation, analyzing the information around me was too bothersome. So I decide to act like the brat I was and glare at the soldiers. As I was doing so, the children around me were having a heated discussion, if you can call it a discussion. According to this, I concluded that I was the only one who was sold by his cheap father.
-The Empire’s soldiers are so cool! Did you see that soldier’s blazing sword? -A drooling boy said as he was looking at me.
His expecting stare was so annoying!
-What is so interesting about it? Men carrying weapons like that came every day to get money from my dad.
- Eh!.... Your dad must be a high rank in the Empire then. So cool!
- Sure. If you consider a drunk man who sells drugs to the Empire’s soldiers a high rank. And, you shouldn’t forget that he sold my older sister for sports car and one free of charge night in the red district. Ah! And don’t forget that he just sold me to the Empire’s soldiers!

I was really frustrated. I tried to contain my own anger, but this damn little boy had to keep saying such nonsense! Yes, I learned to speak like that from my father!
-Sorry…. I didn’t know.
Excellent! I scared the only little boy who was willing to have a chat with me. Now I will be the isolated guy.
- It was my bad… Don’t worry.
I wore a smile as I try to fix this mess. I don’t want to be alone in the place where we are going to be transported. But my tongue isn’t working properly and I only get a weird stare from the boy when I tried to speak. Thanks to the heavens, this awkward situation was broken when a soldier walked up to us, sat next to us and closed the back doors of the armored vehicle.
The soldier seemed relieved for some reason. His mustache made him look funny. But at a first glance, you could understand that this man wasn’t some small fry. He was observing us, not opening his mouth. His gaze evaluating each of us, as if we were some kind of pet. I lowered my head to avoid eye contact, you never know when a good is as perverted as our neighbor who used to kidnap little girls.
-Oliver, the harvest this time is better than usual. The higher ups will be pleased with this. You think that we’ll get some free days thanks to this?
-I don’t know, we’ll have to wait for the boss’ response.
The mustached soldier walked to the front of the vehicle where the driver is getting ready. They were talking about something I couldn’t hear because of the distance between us and the children next to me. All I could hear were sobbings, screams and prays from the children, but at least I took a glance at the mustached soldier and the driver.
The driver didn’t look as experienced as the mustached soldier. He was a middle aged man and had a pale skin. Obviously, he wasn’t from this country where the most of the people have brown skin. I doubt that he works in a secluded place, given that he’s a driver. So he must be a foreign or some men who came from another world controlled by the Empire. What more can I say? He is not fat or thin. He’s lean and you can see his well-developed muscles under his shirt. His face is that of a disciplined man, the same as the mustached soldier. His way of speaking seems clear. Two cold hearted soldiers escorting a group of sobbing children. All of this only made me reach a conclusion, we are doomed. There’s nothing I can do, I only can wait for a hero to come and save us.
I want to cry, I miss my sister and I want to kick my father
I should have run away from my father as soon as he sold my sister. Then, I would buy her back and we could have lived happily. But I had to believe him when he said that he would bring her back. Now I’m stuck here because of him.
And the worst of all this mess is that I haven’t eaten.

The Humble Life of a Skill Trainer
For Joshua Still, Skills were the lifeblood of his business. He wanted to understand them, collect many of them, and teach a few of them. Which was a problem because while his profession of a Skill Trainer was perfectly legal, it was frowned upon by most of the kingdom. After all, it wouldn't do for a non-tailor to teach Tailoring. Or, so says the Tailors Guild. The same could be said by the Blacksmiths, the Bakers, the Butchers, the Candlestick Makers, the Mages, and every other Guild with enough money and clout to complain. But still, Skill Trainers provide a valuable service, and so he has managed to start his business and keep it under the table. To a degree. With many a bribe. But his quiet anonymous life of research, practice, and training was about to change. When the Baron demands you pay him a visit, you have little choice.

Born from a higher form of intelligence that was spending its immortality crossing between worlds, the creature's mission was simple : live and see. See what for yourself what the world has to offer. But what the world had to offer was sometimes quite overwhelming. ** [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] from chapter 2; be careful, chapter 1 has sexual content. Refer to the tags as the story can be quite dark. The story is a slice of life turned not so wholesome as the protagonist meets mostly freaks while becoming one themself.

Recently, they have been in a conflict for [Kokaine], a resource that can only be found between the borders of the two countries. Revered for its ability to significantly raise the magical and physical potential of anyone who uses it, neither kingdom could afford to yield the vast fields of [Kokaine] to the other. As the two superpowers clash, a single hero emerges, bestowed with overwhelming combat ability and strength. Possessing the finesse to turn the tide of the war either way, which side would he choose? Or will he forge his own path of solitary conquest and get high by sniffing [Kokaine]? NOTE: This story takes place in a medieval fantasy setting with swords and magic. There are Elves, Beastkin, Orcs, and monsters as well. There will be a lot of lame jokes and names, please don't be offended. And remember to leave a review! This is just a joke novel, although it gets a bit more serious after the first few chapters. Credits to user Tanaka Tomoyuki for suggesting me the synopsis.

Marakar
Far from the exploration he yearned to go on, Rae, the Kijah prince, finds himself in the middle of the impending war between Kijah'dar and Ga'ani. Unknown to him, or to the rest of the states, the Kijah Magister plots to overthrow the queen, and he will stop at nothing to achieve his plans. Marakar is a fantasy adventure series about the island states of Mar’narana (with focus primarily on the two states, Kijah'dar and Ga'ani). Tensions between the big players are rising, with more and more plots getting revealed, and powers are unexpectedly shifting. As the string of seemingly unconnected events grows taut, the smaller nations suddenly find themselves into the midst of things, struggling with the sudden shifting of their boards. On a more meta note, I am trying to develop two storylines parallel to each other. As you might have noticed, odd-numbered chapters are very different from even-numbered chapters. That’s because those are the two different storylines; odd-numbered chapters are in the present, while even-numbered ones are in the past. Once the two eventually meet I'll continue with just the present storyline. This story can also be found here where it currently updates every other Sunday (about twice a month). Feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to read. :) tw/cw list (please take care of your mental health! Don't force yourself to read these chapters if they may harm you). -------> Chapter 14: hate crime description.
