《Dreamland invasion》Prologue: Forgotten dream

"So, did you manage to scout out what kind of enemy the end boss is?", the magician asked.
"It's a humanoid, maybe three meters in height.", the assassin answered.
"And?", the magician asked, hoping for more.
"Nothing, I'm not a scout. All I could see was a featureless, black, humanoid figure. I couldn't even see any weapons. I didn't dare to get any closer. Honestly, I feel completely useless. He will definitely detect me as soon as I get as close as a hundred meters.
Maybe I can get in a surprise attack or two when he is distracted during the fight. I just hope he isn't resistant against poison.", the assassin explained with a sad expression.
"That means the same tactic as always?", the magician asked in the round.
"Well, it worked out so far, so why not?", the archer answered.
"Very well, I'm starting with the buffs then.", the priest agreed.
"Barrier, magic barrier, haste, regeneration, strengthening, second chance, ...", several minutes passed as the priest layered one buff after the other until all five of them shone like Chrismas trees.
"You ready for your personal buffs?", the priest asked the warrior.
"Yes, begin.", the warrior answered.
"True strike, holy attack, bastion, avatar.", the priest layered a few more buffs before drinking another mana potion.
"Telepathy.", the magician cast their own spell that would connect everyone's minds.
"Teleport in 5, 4, 3, ...", the group heard in their minds.
The time for the last fight had come. In a flash of light, the group disappeared from their previous position.
Five lights appeared around a black, humanoid figure, the closest one right behind it.
The warrior held a katana, one hand holding the sheath, the other the handle.

"Iai, space cut."
For but a moment, space itself was cut apart.
In the same instant, an arrow pierced the figure's torso, separating it from the lower body it was still standing on.
Arrow and body flew towards a rock, nailing the torso against it.
The warrior let go of the katana which instantly reappeared in its sheath before dropping the sheath as well which began floating behind the warrior.
At that moment, a bright beam, five meters in diameter, incinerated both, body and rock, turning it into glowing lava.
For a moment, there was silence.
One second.
Two seconds.
Three seconds.
The pair of legs, still standing in front of the warrior disappeared as if they were never there to begin with.
"Well well, who have we here. A group of brave..."
The warrior looked up. Above him, a ball of darkness was floating, the assassin's daggers sticking in its side.
Before the thing had a chance to retaliate, the assassin disappeared again.
That was the signal. A shower of arrows appeared over the mass of darkness, each one glowing brightly in different colors. Suddenly, they changed directions, piercing the enemy from all directions turning it into a porcupine.
When the darkness started moving, the warrior jumped up.
"Martial arts: Axekick."
Kicking the ball with the heel, it got launched into the ground.
Pulling out a hammer from nowhere, the warrior continued.
"Combined hammer arts: Meteorite, Earthquake."
A red and brown ball of energy surrounded the hammer which the warrior hurled after the monster.
A cloud of dust got whirled up in a huge explosion.
A moment later, a sudden gust blew over the battlefield, driving the dust away.
There lied the beast in the middle of a crater, the ground cracked in all directions for almost twenty meters. The thrown hammer floated back to the warrior, placing itself next to the katana.

Just like before, the thing disappeared from one moment to the other.
This time, a black pyramid appeared, standing about a hundred meters to the side on the ground.
"Now that was just rude! You can sneak attack me all you want, but at least let me finish when I'm talking.
Did you really think you could win? I am the closest thing to a god on the material plane, you know?"
"Now.", the priest's voice appeared in their minds.
"Now what?", the pyramid asked.
"This!", the assassin answered, slashing the pyramid with his daggers clad in sinister energy.
The energy wrapped itself around the creature, restricting it.
A moment later seven lances of light rained down from the sky, pinning the thing to the ground. Another binding skill, this time from the archer.
A cross of light slowly appeared in the sky, a pillar descending from its middle.
Holy Light, the strongest attack of the priest.
"You do realize that it is quite the racism to assume that I am weak to light and holy attribute attacks just because I'm black and you think I'm the bad guy. Right?"
A grey, translucent sheet of energy appeared in front of the pillar, blocking its slow descent.
"Well, it's not like you are wrong.", the pyramid continued talking.
"Anyways, this is getting boring. Let's wrap it up."
Saying so, the pyramid disappeared.
First, the archer's voice disappeared from the warrior's mind.
Then, together with their voice, all of the priest's buffs disappeared.
Only a few seconds and two explosions in the distance later, the effect of telepathy completely disappeared.
Then, a formless, black mass writhing with tentacles reappeared in front of the warrior, holding tightly onto the assassin.
"There we go, sealed as well."
A spear appeared in the warrior's hands.
"Yin Yang arts: Dragon blast."
A beam of swirling black and white appeared from the speartip, cutting apart the black mass.
"Wow, that actually hurt a bit!", The black mass exclaimed.
The spear got dropped, and instead a greatsword appeared.
"Yin Yang arts: World splitter."
The world split into two, one half black, the other white.
"Ouch! For fucks sake! Stop this shit already and get yourself sealed!"
Planting a long staff in the ground in front of himself, the warrior continued.
"Yin Yang arts: Dawnbringer."
Everything went grey and silent, then it crumbled away.
"Hm? That didn't hurt at all? ... oh, you asshole! You attacked my goddamned soul!? How did you even do that?"
"Cough, Cough!", black blood splatters over the ground and the warrior falls to the knees.
"Ah, I see. You are killing yourself. Well, can let that happen. I still have a need for you. It won't work if I don't have all five of you. Now then: Seal!"
A defiant look on the face, the warrior got covered in darkness.

WARNING: despite the slow beginning does become very violent and gory as the story goes on. Images I have originally made are used in the stories, I also have a Wattpad where I upload only the images. Also a friend said it was a good idea to also upload this on Scribble Hub. Also, have exclusive stories I upload only on deviant art. Sometimes. When I remember.
