《Pokemon Black & white: The Complete Story》Volume 2, Chapter 16: A Sign Of Victory

Shiro and Kuro roam around the bustling streets of Castelia City, as Shiro was in a fantastic mood from the music that was playing earlier, Kuro adrift in thought. Shiro would eventually notice the blank stare Kuro had, as she would stop walking, and spin in front of him, as he would snap out of his daze, and she would tilt her head a tad bit. Shiro: Something on your mind, Kuro? Kuro: Yeah. . . Shiro would grab Kuro’s hand, as she took one step closer to him -- looking at him as she would stare into his eyes, Kuro would become flustered, as he would hold his hand down to hide his face, as the two walked beside each other once again. Shiro: I’m going to go battle the City gym leader. Are you going to come with me? Kuro: Actually Shiro, I want to be alone for a bit... Hearing these words sadden Shiro, as the look of worry and despair was all over her face, as she squeezed his hand tighter. Shiro: What’s wrong...? Kuro: I just need to think about some things..about my adventure, about what I’m really doing out here...you know? It feels every time I make progress; I lose everything I’ve done. There is something I’m doing wrong, and I can’t really think about it around trainers, or really Pokémon so I. want to walk around. Shiro: Oh, all right then Kuro! I can leave you to that, but just know that you’re an amazing trainer Kuro. Sure, you may be a bit shy, and scared, but I can tell you have a good heart, I feel like its one reason Osahwott has stuck by your side despite it having its Pokémon destroyed. You have to be able to stand on your own two feet more. You know? Kuro: Yeah... I get you... Shiro: Okay then, Kuro... Shiro would give Kuro a hug, as when he wrapped his arms back around her she would giggle, and she rested her head on his shoulder. Kuro would blush, and he would shake a little, this made Shiro laugh a little more. Shiro: Haha...like, right now. Don’t be scared, Kuro. She would remove her head from his shoulder, as she would stare at Kuro with the warmest and most loving smile, as her eyes just pierced his soul, her soft hands placed on both of his cheeks, as she stared at him, and he couldn’t help but stare back, mesmerized -- as if she was the most beautiful girl in the world. Shiro: You got this, Kuro. You’re coming back to me when you’re done, right? Kuro: Y-Yes! Yes, of course, Shiro! Kuro didn’t even think before he responded, hypnotized by the look she was giving him, he couldn’t bring himself to say anything that would take that look away, as her smile widened and his heart melted, and with that she ran off -- Kuro would hold his chest, as he felt a hard pounding, and his face was red. He had felt embarrassed before, but nothing like this. He wasn’t scared, and he wasn’t so much embarrassed; he couldn’t put his finger on what this feeling was. He would embark on his short personal journey, as he stalked the city streets thinking to himself. In due time he would find himself at the dock where ships come and go, he saw one ship in particular that caught his eye, as it was golden and white. A strange but pleasing color combination that Kuro hadn’t seen before. N: Hey, it’s been awhile. A shiver went straight down Kuro’s spine, as he would run away, and hide behind one bench at the dock, peering his head out from behind the bench as he saw it was just N. He would stand back up, and walk back towards N, scratching his head. Kuro: O-Oh, Hi N...I knew it was you... N would laugh under his breath, as something about Kuro caught his eye. The last time. Kuro had at least three pokemon underneath his belt; now he has none. N: Have you been liberating your Pokémon or imprisoning them within your PC? Kuro: They’ve been liberated..by Team Plasma. I only have one Pokémon... N: Team Plasma has been causing a lot of trouble recently, I would deal with them on Liberty Garden, as they are trying to capture a Pokemon to use it for their own selfish desires and motives, ruining the Plasma name...but, I feel its best if you deal with them. Here, take this. N would hand Kuro a passport, a ticket of some sort that was a simple gray card. N: That’s the ticket onto the ferry that will take you to Liberty Garden. If you want to more than one Pokemon to aid you during your journey...take this, and depending on what you decide to do, you will be closer to your answer. N said that, as he was walking away, waving at Kuro before he was gone from sight. Kuro would then board on the ferry that would take him to Liberty Garden, it wasn’t a long trip — as Kuro and a few others took to a small little island with a simple lighthouse, on this island, Kuro could see a pitch-black boat on the other side of the island, as he was confused, did another boat come here to check out the Garden? Soon, his question would get its answer, as he would see a Team Plasma Grunt, with an all-black and gray outfit that covered his mouth. The grunt snickered, as he tossed his Pokeball up and down, pressing the button in the center as a Krokorok would reveal itself from the confines of the Pokeball. Showing its fangs and screeching at the people who came off the ship. Plasma Grunt: Listen here, everybody. This island is under Team Plasma’s control. We’re hunting for a Pokemon so we can guarantee our victory and ultimate completion of our goal. Better board back on that ship if you know what’s good for you. The people on the island would bicker among themselves, one of them would go on and try to contact the police as Kuro used this to sneak over to the other side of the crowd, and passing by the grunt without being noticed — there, he would go inside of the lighthouse. It was dark, but Kuro could see the light down the end of the hall, as he would approach it, trying not to stumble over anything within this darkness, but he would stop moving...as he heard the growling of a Pokemon, a Scotland. Scoutland would sniff outside the door, as its Grunt trainer would follow behind it. Team Plasma Grunt: Who else is in here? Show yourselves, and you may not be hurt badly. Kuro would remain hidden, hiding somewhere out of sight near the entrance of the lighthouse. Team Plasma: Whoever you are, I hope you don't have any intentions on stopping Team Plasma from releasing the Legendary Pokemon from its confinement! Kuro would gulp, gripping his fist as he yelled out to the grunt Kuro: I’m right here! His voice echoed out through the chamber of the room, as it caught the attention of Scoutland and the Grunt, they couldn’t quite pinpoint where the voice came from, but there weren’t that many options. The Scoutland rushed towards the entrance, as its owner followed right behind it. Kuro yelled as he would send out his Oshawott, who smiled, and look in front of him and saw a Scoutland right in front of him — Oshawott screamed too! The Grunt and Scoutland finally found the two locked within a corner. The Grunt pointed his finger towards the Oshawott, as Scoutland’s fang became cloaked with lightning, as it rushed towards the Oshawott. Kuro would grab his Pokemon and roll out of the way, as the Scoutland would ram itself into the wall. Kuro: Osahwott, Water Gun! Oshawott would lead into the air, as a strong beam of water would come out of its mouth, as it hit the Scoutland head on, but it didn‘t really hurt the bigger Pokemon. The Grunt laughed at how weak the attack was, as Kuro would run off deeper into the Lighthouse. Not too much later, Kuro would find himself in the Lighthouse's basement. Kuro would see a Grunt, and a small, rabbit-like Pokémon with large, pointed ears which form the letter V. It has large, blue eyes and around, cream head, which is comparatively large compared to its small, cream body, while the tops of its ears, crest, and extremities are all orange. The Grunt sent out a Watchog, and the Watchog's eye would be blinded by a wild small otter Pokemon, Kuro's Oshawott. Oshawott jumped up and blinded the opposing Pokemon by covering its eyes, Kuro ran in front of the small rabbit-like Pokemon, as it looked up at him in a sort of worry. The Grunt would stomp its foot down, as the Grunt yelled and pointed at Kuro. Grunt: Damn it, Damn it, Damn it! Watchog, you're so useless!! And get lost kid, I'm trying to catch this Pokémon so that Team Plasma can obtain ultimate victory in all our matches! Nobody can step to us...and you're getting in our way! ???: Now, Calm yourself, Grunt. A voice could be heard, echoing through the chambers throughout the entrance of the lighthouse. The door was open, and the Grunt and Kuro could hear it, as the footsteps put Kuro in fear, who could it be? He was praying to himself that this man he heard wasn't Ghetsis, it was someone Kuro had never seen before. A man dawning a poofy purple winter jacket with the Team Plasma logo emblazoned on it. The Grunt would return his Watchog, and bow down in front of this man. Oshawott would run back to Kuro. Kuro gulped, as a shiver went down his spine as he could see glowing eyes behind the man who walked in. Grunt: Z-Zinzolin....sir. Zinzolin: We'll have to abort this mission, someone had contacted the police. I had sealed off the entrance to the room, so we have time to escape. Zinzolin said as a small smile would become placed on his face, as he would stare Kuro down, and Kuro would take a step back. Zinzolin: And who are you? Are you here to interfere with our plans, Little boy? Kuro: ... Zinzolin: Silent treatment, I see. I'll know the answer if I see you around again. We will come back for Victini, Let's get going. Zinzolin would walk out of the room, and the Grunt would follow behind him. As Kuro would look at the Pokemon supposedly named "Victini". Kuro kneeled down, patting Victini's head as a small smile would spread across its face, and Oshawott would begin to talk with the Victini, as they dissolved the tension and fear the Pokemon had. Kuro: You're safe now, Victini. Kuro would think about what the Grunt said, on how Victini could grant them "Victory". He wondered if he should instead catch this Pokemon, to save it from being attacked from Plasma again, and so he can defeat whoever...he removed a Pokeball from his pocket, staring at the ball, and then staring at the Victini, he ultimately decided not to. The police officer would run within the room, as the officer would look at Kuro, and the Pokemon, Kuro would stand up back on his feet, and Victini would vanish. Officer: Is everything alright here? Are you hurt, kid? Kuro: No, I'm fine. Thank you, Officer. Officer: It seems like you scared off some of the Grunts too, thank you for your hard work kid! Come, I'll send you back to Castellia.
