《Cutthroat》Episode 2: Chapter 18 - A Certain Travel Diary (part 6)

Day 183
We’ve been waiting for three days and still no signs of Li. Is she not coming? Back home when a sinkhole appeared after the earthquake, I remember her falling with us. Don’t tell me that she died in there?
Where is she? I can’t lose her now. Not again.
***
Day 207
We’ve waited near the river for a month and decided to leave. Marny suggested that we should go back to Eloheim and leave her to find us. To find Dragon’s eye.
I know. I know full well that I can’t just stay here. But what if I want to?
I’m finally with her after all those years and to lose her again.
***
Day 232
Li, I’m still here. We’ve decided to split up and search for a way to go back. At least we’re not wasting our time. For now, I’ve started a bandit troupe in the Meldrid forest. It’s a good excuse to make money and search for you.
Nadi was angry when we separated but I made sure to contact them through telepathy.
It’s like before, no? We split the work.
I wish you were here. WE wish you were here.
***
Day 286
Today a mutiny was formed. I didn’t care much because I still had Dragon’s eye. I just brought those who are loyal with me and went back to Eloheim. I doubt they can do much without me.
I guess human greed is like this anywhere. Even in a different world, we still couldn’t run away from it. Humans here are no different than those back on Earth. Selfish bastards that only see themselves, looking away from the sufferings of other people and washing their hands off of guilt.
It’s funny how I’m the same as the humans I despise both inside and out.

But, it’s not all bad things though, I was excited at first and had so many things to discover. Magic was wonderful and my magic was too OP if I do say so myself.
I’ve also met different kinds of people.
Those with long ears— the elves, animal-like people that can stand on two legs— beastmen, the cliché dwarves that smiths the best weapons you could ever think of and the daemons, whose existence was close to mana.
It was an interesting experience even with the ups and all the way downs, not one I want to continue, but interesting nonetheless.
Maybe I should travel?
At least to forget about Li, even for just a little bit.
Yeah, it might be a good idea.

Day 361 Sunlit-Earth 1, 752nd Light Years
It’s the start of a new year. I received greetings from the twins, calling me back to Eloheim. I guess I should go visit them soon. Plynii— one of the bandits who’s loyal to me, is getting tired of traveling too.
I need a haircut and I’m sure Nadi would be glad to do it for me.
I should also think about joining up with the two once again. If Li ever hears of what I did, I’m sure I’d be beaten or I might be tortured with healing magic?
No, stop. I’m too scared to even think about it.
It was truly an adventure. I’m currently staying with the forest-kins, I’m sure they’ll be surprised at what they look like. I’m glad I went to this journey, rotting in regret would be bad. It’s time to start my life again. I survived without Li when she left, I’m sure I can survive again.
No biggie.
***
Sunlit-Dark 3, 752nd Light Years
Today a report came.
It seems like the bandits I left in the forest was subjugated single-handedly. I left them alone because I still had men on the inside, I can’t believe anyone would be strong enough to annihilate the men I trained. I’m sure they were slacking off.

I’ll just have to find another way to get information on the river. Even though I said I’d given up on Li, I’m still so hung up on it.
Am I a masochist or what?
***
Sunlit-Dark 9, 750th Light Years
Yesterday, rumors of a big mission was circulating among the assassination leagues. Of course, Dragon’s eye wasn’t invited so I made sure to investigate.
It seems some nobles from the senate sent out a dossier for the whole Mastris nobility. I can’t have the only honorable noble with a working brain die on me. So I hurriedly sent Andi to the capital to watch over the Lady Marquise and sent Nadi to their estate in Turqo.
But it sure was an amazing surprise. Nadi excitedly announced something I’ve been longing to hear since coming here. All this time, my hopes of finding her was closer to zero but here she is. Enjoying herself like I knew she would. I want to see her badly but we still have a job to finish.
Their planned attack was delayed by Nadi’s actions. They’ve also hired more people now and it looks like it’s going to be a massacre. Well it will be, with Li and all.
God, I can’t believe I can still get this excited after I depressed myself into my self-discovery journey.
What should I say to her?
I think I won’t be able to sleep until I see her again!

The Summoned - Complete
In a world of magic, ruled by many warring races, the human kingdoms are being pushed to the brink of collapse. In a desperate bid to gain the strength to stand on an equal footing with the other nations, they perform a forbidden ritual to summon combat slaves from another dimension. Unluckily for them, Mors Letus, recently named by their world's God of Death, was one of them. **** Warning **** This is a re-release (The Summoned) of the first book I wrote in partnership with my brother (who later forced the story to be pulled (It was released on his account here)). I have started writing my own version of the story (BOM: The Summoned) and will continue to primarily invest in that, though, now I have permission to re-release this one, I plan finish this as I have the drafts and it was close to the end of the first book. Many characters/scenes and events match/Will match BOM: The Summoned, especially in future arc's (Past Flatner forest). If you don't like spoilers, don't want to get confused between the two stories or hate first attempts at writing (god awful grammar/sentence structure and storytelling), I would advise against reading.
