What the fuck happened?

After the rushed travel back from the capital I witness my brother brooding in the garden. I immediately went to Mastris’ manor because I heard they’ve found big sis, but why is he like this again?!

“Nadi?”

I looked at my twin for answers, but she wore a sullen expression, refusing to answer. You’d think I know what she’s thinking but even as her twin, I can only read her at an extent. I was tired, I called them for an update but no one answered, so my patience was running low.

What in hell happened here?!

“Bro, what happened?”

My voice was stern, I stopped myself from blowing my temper. I know nothing good comes from my anger but if brother turns useless, everything will fall apart again. The whole cycle of that tormenting year will come again!

“Tell me.”

I begged and waited, but I was met with silence. I felt an itch and it started to get annoying.

Throbbing, thumping louder and louder and louder.

“Fuck! How can we solve the problem if you won’t tell me!”

I kicked a nearby tree. I know it won’t do anything, but I needed to hit something! If not, my fist would definitely meet his face. I grit my teeth to the point it hurt and I turned to cool my head.

“Li’s not waking up.”

Brother’s silent voice echoed throughout the garden. A refreshing wind blew as I process those words. Big sis is what now?

“What? Not waking up… she— is she dead?!”

I looked at Nadi for answers and it doesn’t seem like it. What does he mean that she’s not waking up? Nadi looked at me, prepared to answer.

“When we met with her after the party, she was fine. She lost her memories but she was still the same as ever. We talked and talked and fell asleep together. But…”

She trailed off wore the same sullen expression earlier. Brother looked even more down after they said it. Was it so hard to tell me? She lost her memory and she’s still asleep?

“So she’s in a coma now? Doesn’t that mean her brain is trying to repair her lost memories?”

Shock is the word. It was written all over their faces. It was different from the face they often make at my jokes, it wasn’t like the usual: “How can this dumbass be my brother?” Or “What kind of human are you?” Right now, in their faces was pure astonishment.

What? What? Did I say something wrong? Oh…

“Waha! Don’t tell me you forgot that it was possible?! LOL! Bwahahahaha!”

Their face says it all! That silence meant that they really did forget. I laughed imagining the despair they went through for a week. And their faces, brother has bags as big as my fists and the ever dainty Nadi looked like a mess!

“S-shut up! We were really troubled you know!”

She stomped her foot and pouted at me. Li was a special existence to the three of us so I can understand their despair, I know, I’m sorry, but I really can’t stop laughing!

“I know I was stupid for over-reacting, but for Andi to point it out— I really am in another world! Wait, does this mean I’m more of a dumbass than Andi?!”

Oy, that was uncalled for!

Beside me, my brother insulted me right in my face. Yeah, I guess I deserved that for laughing at them but it’s not my fault we’re in another world!

“But really! How can we miss that possibility big brother! Her memory loss, sudden change in environment and body composition. We aren’t even sure what kind of magic she has.”

Nadi stopped the stream of insults leaving brother’s mouth. Good thing too, if not, I would’ve punched him to make him stop.

“Yeah, I wasted that whole week thinking it was a curse or poison from this world and to have Andi point it out—!”

Can’t you just move on?! I glared at my brother and gave a jab to his side. He curled in pain and trembled on a nearby tree.

“Not my fault you forgot that modern medicine existed for a whole fuckin’ week!”

I pouted and sat on the bench Nadi sat before. Recovering from my punch, he sighed deeply and his face looked clearer than before.

Feeling refreshed after a jab… What are you a masochist?

“Honestly, in all seriousness…”

He paused and stood straight up, fixing himself. The pause was quite long, but I felt a serious discussion coming so I prepared to listen intently.

“Li’s coma might’ve been caused by sudden stimuli from our appearance. If Li stays in a coma after three weeks, then we really have to worry.”

He held his bearded face as he thinks about what to do. He was full of despair earlier but it seems like his back on track. I never want to encounter that moronic brother again.

“Right now, we can supplement her body with mana so we won’t have to worry about IV drips and nutrients.”

He continued. He paused for a while, rubbing his unusual bearded face. Big sis never liked beards so he always shaves it for a clean look. Even though he can grow a perfect beard! One day, when my face can grow one, I will grow mine too!

“As of now, we can’t do anything but wait for her to naturally wake up. So while we wait, Andi, we’ll continue Dragon’s eye operation and our search for a way back. Nadi, stay here and watch over Li. If something happens call us. For now, we can make Li’s room our home base.”

He delegated jobs like he usually did back on Earth. I truly admire brother when he’s like this.

With him and big sis together, I feel like we can conquer the whole world! We can do a world conquest in Eorth! We’ll be like the demons who vowed to unite the world under their rule!

“What about Marny and Plynii?”

Then we’ll have an army! I will be their general and I will run off to the battlefield, rampaging and creating mountains of corpses. Then, I will stand atop of those corpse mountains and declare our victory!

“Hey you, listen!”

As I was lost in my dream of a game-like conquest, brother knocked my head.

“Just cancel our rooms and have them stay in two small ones. I don’t want to impose on Mastris, our debts are already enough to be his retainers.”

He shrugged his shoulder and eked himself to sit on the middle of the cramped bench Nadi and I were sitting on. He wrapped his arms over our shoulders and said.

“I’m sorry for being like that. Even though I promised…”

Yeah, you promised. So don’t you go breaking it.

From the wind drifting in the garden, I could smell something disgusting coming from brother. Wait, don’t tell me you two haven’t bathe properly?!

“Brother you stink! Get away from me!”

I tried to run away but the two stinky jerks pulled me back with a devilish smile and hugged me even tighter. I tried to run away again and again, but soon, brother used magic to paralyze me and I was stuck under the stinky embrace of my siblings.

“YOU BASTARDS!”

My angry wails reached no one as it echoed through the garden.
