《Forbidden Book》Brawl in the Pool

Sato and Ai walked through some bushes and winded up at an outdoor pool. Sato looks around puzzled, "Hey Ai. Wasn't a hot spring here before?"
AI nodded, "Yeah. But that's just another one of the things Kaoru has changed."
Sato looked kind of upset. "I see."
A crowd runs up to the two. "It's Sato and Ai of the Heroic Four!" One girl shouts.
"Can I get your autographs?" Another girl asks.
"Hey, why don't you come swim with us?" A boy asks.
"Well, we'd love too." Sato starts. "But we're kind of busy."
"Come on just for a little while?" The boy pleads.
Sato sighs, "Fine. But only for a little while."
"Okay, come on big brother Sato." Ai grabs onto Sato's arm. "Let's go get changed."
"What?!" The purple haired teen yells slightly embarrassed. "We're not getting changed together."
Ai giggles, "Relax, Sato. I was just messing around."
Sato sighs, "Well, please stop.
"Not a chance." Ai giggles as she runs off into a changing room.
A little while later Sato and Ai are both in the shallow end of the pool. Sato moaned, "This just isn't the same."
Ai nodded her head in agreement. "You have no idea. Kaoru has turned all of Bakemonia into his ideal world." She clenched her fist, "And he's getting away with it. I couldn't do anything to stop him, so that's why I needed your help."
"Don't worry, Ai. I'll make sure Kaoru is stopped." Sato assures the Magic Bakemono. "And then you and me, we're gonna find Sakura and Arashi together. And beat the shit out of this Jiro dude for taking them away."
"Hey!" A voice shouts from across the other side of the pool." A dark skinned muscular green haired man walks toward Sato. His huge feet splashing practically all of the water out of the pool. "Your'e Sato of the Heroic Four, are you."

Sato grins, "Yeah, that's me alright."
"Nice to meet you. My name is Ben, Giant Bakemono. So then, how about a friendly little fight?" The man requests.
"Sure." Sato agrees. "I think I should use half of my full power."
"A little overconfident, are we? Just because you defeated Niji, don't think you're the best!" The Gant Bakemono throws a quick and powerful punch at Sato. Sato quickly catches the punch, closing his fingers over Ben's fist.
Sato smirks, "I don't think I'm the best at all. Matter of fact, I actually worked my butt of for two years to get this strong." The teen laughed, "I even started skipping some classes." Sato releases Ben's fist and quickly climbs up the Giant Bakemono's body. He flips off spinning around while bringing out his leg to deliver a powerful kick to Ben's torso, knocking the dark-skinned man back a couple of feet.
"I'm not finished yet!" Ben rushes toward Sato quickly decreasing their distance He slams his hovers his fist over Sato prepared to slam it downward.
Sato backflips just before the attack makes contact, re-creating their distance. "Hey, Ben! I gotta admit, you're pretty good." Sato praises him. "No one in my High School's Martial Arts club could get me this hyped!"
Ben smiles, "You're not too shabby yourself, Sato of the Heroic Four." Ben rushes towards Sato preparing for a kick, he swings out his leg.
Sato dicks under the kick, bending his knees. He extends his own leg swinging it around Ben's free one, tripping the Giant Bakemono over. He crashes into the ground rocks shooting up from the impact. "You know what they say, Ben. The bigger they all the harder they fall." Sato smiles as he lends Ben his hand to help him up.

The Giant Bakemono laughs as he takes Sato's hands. "Yeah, that's true. I look forward to our next match."
Sato grins kindly, "Me too, Ben."
A crowd of Bakemono begins circling around Sato again, shouting, "I'm next!" Or, "Sato, fight me!"
Sato laughed, "Guys relax, I have plenty of time to fight you all. Make a line please."
Ai sighs, "Since when does he have plenty of time? I sure hope this doesn't give him a big ego."
Several hours later the sun was starting to go down, Sato was breathing heavily as the last one of the Bakemono charged raised up her arm. A bolt of lightning shot down from the sky.
Sato quickly leaped out of the way. He ran towards her before she could summon more lightning. He extended out his leg sending a potent kick to her midsection. She caught herself before she fell and released a blast of lightning from her palm.
Sato started feel down on his butt. "Damn it. Oh well, that was a good fight. Nice job."
The Lightning Bakemono smiled full of pride. "Alright! Not only did I defeat, Sato of the Heroic Four, but he also congratulated me for it!"
Ben walks up to Sato offering to help him up the way, Sato previously did for him. "So you beat me, but you lose to my nine year old niece?"
Sato sweat drops, "She…was nine?"
"Well, that's what you got for trying to win one-hundred fights in one day." Ai spoke in a slightly annoyed fashion. You were bound to lose eventually. You're not invincible you know."
Sato laments, "I know. Okay, well it's been fun but we've gotta get going. Come on Ai."
Ai huffs, "I was the one who was telling you to come on"
A little while later Sato and Ai walk into Sihalia. Sato stops when he notices. A colossal corporate building stands in place of where the castle used to be. "What the hell happened here?"

Campaign: A Project Starfarer Sidestory
This novel’s lore, story and characters are entirely fictitious. Certain long-standing countries, institutions, organizations, agencies, and public offices are mentioned, but their histories and the characters involved are wholly imaginary. "What will you do with your freedom?"Growing up in a meritocracy, infamous for being lawless, Jordan Astros had been repeatedly asked this question, since times unmemorable. In a society where one's accomplishments and skills were tallied and ranked in order to determine one's standard of living however, Jordan quickly grew to understand that 'freedom,' was a reward earned by accumulating Merit. And so, after his 17th birthday, Jordan departed his Clan's habitat in orbit of Europa to embark on his century-long journey to rise from E-Ranker to S-Rank. And spread his name throughout the Galilean Powers. *** Campaign is a sidestory within its NanoPunk parent series, Project Starfarer. (Yet to be published. Be on the lookout for it!) In which the first transhuman known to humanity, the Starfarer, invokes a plan to seed terrestrial life throughout the galaxy. Campaign takes place around the middle of that timeline and explores the life of a key figure in that universe, Jordan Astros. And explores one of four great nations thriving in the Solar System during that time. A Meritocracy that spans Jupiter and its 79 moons, The Galilean Powers. What you'll find in Campaign: Brutal melee combat in airless and pressurized low gravity environments. A technology based progression system influenced by merit and accomplishments; using tech that's theoretically possible to exist in the near-future. An exploratory perspective of the dozens of Galilean societies, or 'Powers,' from Jordans; and sometimes others', POV. What you wont find: Romance. Harems. An MC who receives shortcuts, handouts, learns things unnaturally fast or has OP plot armor. Jordan is not a special individual. Jordan is not OP and he likely never will be. He's no different than any other citizen in the Galilean Powers and will certainly face as many defeats as he does wins. He'll suffer losses and grow as an individual, while the Powers evolves around him as well. This is semi-hard sci-fi/NanoPunk and takes place in a fictional version of our future solar system. Centered around technology that's plausible in the near-centuries to come. Everything abides by the laws of physics/thermodynamics (As best that I understand them, at least. I'm no scientist.) No artificial gravity, inertial dampeners, teleportation, FTL, or hand-wavy materials will be found in the Project Starfarer universe. Just advanced automation, nanotechnology, cybernetics and AI. Set in the backdrop of space. *I do not own the photo used for the cover*
