《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 217 - Homo-Superior Origins

Shaking his head to regain focus, Zeel stared at the stars and moon as he began his brief story.
"To understand this story. You need to know that Homo-Superior is not a title we gave ourselves. It was a title granted to us by the Universe.
When Beings in a universe evolve through a specific method, the Universe rewards and recognizes them because it upgrades its standing amongst other Universes.
There are five evolutions necessary to become a Homo-Superior from a human. These five stages of evolution are impossible to pass.
That's why our race is so respected and feared because we went against all the possibilities to evolve into the peak of High Humans.
High Humans are the Elder race of all Homo-Beings and went extinct only thousands of years after the Universe was created.
Homo-Superiors are at the peak of High Humans, so there is not much difference and we are often referred to as such,"
Zeel was careful only to talk about information that was well-known by many Beings in the Universe.
"Anyways that is not the point. Humans evolving into the first step of becoming a Homo-Superior is called Homo-Genius.
My grandfather was the one to accidentally discover the method to evolve from Human to Homo-Genius. He was a kind man and shared this method with all humans across the world.
Of course, they were factions that opposed evolution. Humans could not agree with anything at that time.
In the end, most people acquiesced and a few broke off from the human race entirely as a form of the controlled variable.
Of course, this was over the span of thousands of years. Time works very differently in Universe Zero and I might be oversimplifying things too much.
My grandfather was an ambitious man and knew that Homo-Genius was not the end. When you become a Homo-Genius, you, of course, become more intelligent, stronger, faster, and all.
Basically, peak human with the added benefit of feeling every part of your body.
You can choose what microbes you want in your gut; you can choose the recessive gene for blonde hair in your DNA.

You can alter anything that is already present inside your body. You can feel your hair blowing through the wind with pinpoint accuracy of every strand.
Homo-Genius were overwhelmed, addicted, and wanted to experience more of everything.
Sex became better, divorce rates went down, crime almost entirely halted.
Humans were one almost perfectly synchronized, functioning body. It was a beautiful time in human history.
But again, everything functions with respect to time. Time is old and ancient. It was born long before any Universes came into creation, and will survive long after.
There was even a right time for the Big Bang to occur, so time is master and lord along with other concepts.
My grandfather experimented more and more and found a trend within time. He discovered that entire civilizations were wiped out in the past for growing too quickly.
It was not a matter of talented individuals but a matter of the race growing too strong as a whole.
The more a race strengthens itself, the more responsibility it has to bear in proportion. It is an infallible law of the world, time, and Universe.
Some Gods grow their strengths 5% more powerful in a thousand years not because they cannot grow faster, but because doing so has consequences.
My grandfather was not one for myths and legends and just wanted to continue forwards.
Within fifty years, he created a serum that would evolve Homo-Genius one step forward and it was distributed across the worlds.
Yes, we had more than one planet at that point.
However, growing too quick has repercussions in every Universe.
The consequences may differ but the result is the same – a price must be paid.
There are always loopholes but the price and cost are the same nonetheless. Homo-Genius wanted to evolve further, but time would not allow that.
So The Universe forced all Homo-Genius into a separate plane of existence called the Evolutionary Field.
It was Field across space-time where all Beings in a Universe that wanted to promote their strength would go to evolve. Homo-Genius were required to survive there for a brief period of time.

It was a nasty place that was constantly at war. I am talking about billions of Thermonuclear bombs detonating at every moment.
I have participated in Evolutionary Wars before and barely returned unscathed each time.
Hundreds of Billions of Homo-Genius were forced into the Evolutionary Field within an instant.
The battle was so fierce, everyone died left and right with no rhyme or rhythm. The very air itself was toxic, blinking was akin to dying there.
We were not so logical at that time, and our entire race might as well have shit themselves simultaneously.
That's how frightened my race was of the Evolutionary battlefield.
In the end, only one hundred came out a year later. Homo-Genius had basically gone extinct in a single year, and the remaining survivors had suffered serious injuries.
At the point of desperation, the one hundred made a vow that day – go for broke,"
"Haha!" The Red Queen burst out laughing before quickly controlling herself. It was a rare spectacle but Zeel also expected that result.
"Yeah, those old fogies decided it was all or nothing. Their solution was to force evolution once more and enter the Evolutionary Field again, but this time they did something different.
They used their brains," Zeel commented and The Red Queen grew intrigued to hear the rest of the story.
"Here comes the biggest, maddest, strongest, and most aggressive race in the Universe – Barzuls. Nobody dared to offend them in the Universe because they would die no doubt.
Homo-Genius was another matter altogether. They planned for three years and calculated for even longer on how to enter Planet Barz – home of the Barzuls.
When they broke in, they stole thousands of dead bodies of the Barzuls. Brazuls respected their dead like any other race but they believed if the body was defiled, they could not enter heaven.
So Homo-Genius went all over the Galaxy in the next five years and collected the shit of all Races they knew.
The Evolutionary Field was irrespective of time-space, so they would enter only moments from where they left.
They forced an evolution, took the corpses, and sneakily placed them all over the field. The Barzuls did the rest and destroyed anyone that had shit on the corpses.
By the time they realized that the Homo-Genius were the ones who did it. The Homo-Genius had run to the far ends of the Battlefield.
The Barzuls still caught them and killed them slowly and painfully.
But Homo-Genius ran through strong races and the Barzuls had to fight to get to them. It was the most chaotic Battle in the ever-growing history of The Evolutionary Field.
Homo Genius became the joke of the Universe and was treated like rats in the field.
In the end, out of the one hundred Homo-Genius, only fourteen survived. The fourteen were allowed to survive by the other races because they kept them entertained.
Silly right? A great race like Homo-Superiors were comedians that had to please the other Races just to survive.
The thirteen became The Homo-Superior Council at a later date. Their bodies were cryogenically frozen for Posterity,"
"That is an unexpected origin story for one of the strongest races in the Universe," The Red Queen commented.
"Everything starts off with sacrifices at the beginning before you reap the benefits. In the end, you will still have to give up those benefits for more sacrifices to keep what you have.
The world is shitty that way," Zeel said giggling to himself at how true that statement was.
Everything had a price and he was glad that he made someone else pay the price at all times.
"We should go, the sun is rising," Zeel said hopping into the air and continuing his journey without purpose.
He wanted to be idle for a couple more days before getting back to business.
The Red Queen re-entered Zeel's Mbeamer and sent another book to Alice 'How to Please a Man's Heart by Making his Grandparents Happy,'.

Twisted Skies
After his master's death, Thurain leaves his rural home behind and travels to Heliana, the cramped city founded on the scientific progress of cultivation. Under a fake name, he aims to enter the Elemental Path Sect, the place of his master's death, to find both his killers, and closure. However, surrounded by the strange and horrible wonders of Heliana and its mixture of heroes and villains, his master's death is not the only murder he may have to solve. --- First attempt at a xianxia novel from me. To shake things up from the usual formula, the setting is more steam-punk than you might expect, and there are elements of murder mystery mixed in with the standard formula (though I'm not entirely sure yet how far to go with it.) I wrote this a while ago for NaNoWriMo, only posting it now for various reasons. Enjoy. Also, cover is highly temporary. I'll probably replace it with something nicer eventually.
