《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 301 - Heaven's Loan

Zeel waited patiently as several doctors wearing white coats came into the room and took away Zeela's body.
No doubt they were going to put the body on ice to preserve it should Zeela one-day return but Zeel was upset for another reason entirely.
Agent Simpson walked into the room and Zeel immediately sought to satiate his curiosity.
"So you're not Americans?" Zeel asked, hurt that his guess was disproven once more.
Agent Simpson shrugged "We were paid by America and China to recover you, so you can say we are American-Chinese for this mission,"
"I'll take it!" Zeel replied, pleased by being half-right instead of completely wrong.
Agent Simpson laughed and made a gesture to the surveillance system as it zoomed onto his body.
Zeel was confused at first but he could finally understand everything through and through.
Why these people were so committed to their organization, why they didn't bat an eye when their comrades got hurt.
Their behavior was strange since the beginning and now Zeel knew why.
Before Agent Simpson could give his signal, Zeel raised his hand to pause the man and asked "Where did she find you?"
Agent Simpson smiled painfully and gratefully simultaneously. Zeel could not detect the emotion on Agent Simpson's face, it was too confusing for him.
Seeing that Zeel was confused, Agent Simpson replied "Some of the females were found being raped in Iraq, some of the children were found in human trafficking circles.
Some of us were abandoned by our countries and our families killed after we got injured. One of us even had almost all of his organs stolen by the Black Market,"
Zeel was impressed by Zeela's careful calculations concerning her selected humans. She selected humans that had lost all hope in life and gave them something to replace that hope.
Still, Zeel preferred to work with humans who had hope and lost it, that way they would do anything to get it back.
"She picked the correct gullible people to fool," Zeel said with admiration in his voice "What did she offer you in return? Aside from rescue and re-growing a couple of limbs?"
Agent Simpson paused and smiled widely as he swirled his fingers at the surveillance system.
Soon, dozens of people walked into the room and formed a line that was neither too casual or too orderly.
Their movements were refined but a bit clumsy, making Zeel aware of the fact that unlike Agent Simpson, they were not soldiers but just extremely disciplined.
The line was made up of women, men, and children of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.

"We were the ones she saved and in return… well," Agent Simpson hesitated, not knowing how to word his next statement.
Someone patted Agent Simpson's back gently, and he stepped aside to reveal a child about 9 years old that held a tablet in his hands.
"My n-am-e is Tim-o-thy," The boy typed onto the tablet and a mechanical voice translated his writing.
Agent Simpson stared at the boy with concern and said sadly "He was found in Human Trafficking circles. By the time Zeela rescued him, they had already cut out his tongue,"
"Th-e rea-son Zeel-a…" The boy started to explain why they all followed Zeela willingly after they were healed, but Zeel was quickly annoyed.
Zeel sent a jolt of lightning through the air that struck the boy's forehead, killing him instantly where he stood.
"If I wanted a mechanical voice to talk to me, I would have kept my Sentient," Zeel said waving his hand dismissively as if telling Agent Simpson to finish things up quickly.
Nobody flinched when the pitiful boy died, some people even threw envious glances at the smoking body of the child.
"Everyone can go except you," Zeel said pointing at Agent Simpson tirelessly.
Everyone else pulled a scalpel from their pockets and held it against their throats. Everyone took a deep breath and shouted in Latin "We dedicate our death to Zeel Crawford, God of Speed!"
What followed was a blood bath as each person, including the children, slit their necks from one side to the next fearlessly.
It was startling to think that Zeel would not be punished by The Restrictions after killing a child, but that was only because the child was already intent on sacrificing his life to Zeel.
Yes, Sacrifice! The act of sacrificing something to a God was not unheard of but an antiquated tradition.
Zeela had somehow convinced everyone in the facility to sacrifice their lives in Zeel's name. This would give Zeel the boost he required to advance into the 1stStage Godhood.
Sadly, Zeel had never considered this avenue for growing his strength since a God that used the sacrifice of life all the time would eventually be labeled an Evil God.
Evil Gods didn't get protection from The World Laws, and Zeel was already borderline Evil God because he previously received sacrifices from Abas while he was slumbering.
Zeel sighed in comfort as he felt the energy of sacrifice being consumed by his divinity causing it to enlarge and became more solidified.
Zeel's divinity was located in the center of his chest, and slowly it began to expand outwards with tendrils that created a channel of veins under his skin.

Still, Zeel was a bit dissatisfied since his divinity was growing too slow, and he knew exactly why that was.
"I don't understand why a man with a happy family would want to sacrifice himself?" Zeel said despite his earlier jab at Simpson's 'one-ball, Zeel could tell both Simpson and his wife were happy.
"When I was at my lowest, couldn't walk or talk, my wife and daughter abandoned me at a Health Care facility," Simpson replied "I just don't think true love is so fickle,"
Zeel's face contorted, recalling a distant memory of a time he felt the same. He quickly thought of another topic to dismiss the memory.
"They're not the smartest bunch right?" Zeel asked Simpson mockingly.
Agent Simpson furrowed his brow and asked "Is something wrong with the sacrifice? Can I sacrifice myself now as well?"
Zeel shook his head and pointed to a man on the ground.
"See him?" Zeel asked "He can't even slit his throat the right way… and I don't know if you watch too many movies and think that slitting your throat is the best way to die…
Half of these people here aren't even dead yet. It will take minutes for a human to die when they slit their throats,"
Agent Simpson frowned and retrieved his weapon from its holster, walking around and shooting everyone in their heads to put them out of their misery.
Zeel closed his eyes once more in contentment as his Divine-veins stretched under his skin all the way to the tips of his fingers and toes.
Zeel could feel the lightning and ripples of warps in his veins more vividly than ever before.
Previously, Zeel could only access his Divine-Lightning while it was rippling on his skin, but now he could feel the Lightning at the tips of his fingers.
Zeel could now generate the lightning directly from his chest through his veins and into his fingers without the need to project his lightning outside his body or use excessive motions to guide the lightning.
*Shew*
*Shew*
*Shew*
Transparent lightning began shooting out of Zeel's body, forcing Agent Simpson to take a couple of steps back.
Zeel's lightning danced and burned the white room into black coal until a shattering noise finally rang out signifying his advancement into 1st Stage Godhood.
Zeel's eyes reopened with a slightly more transparent quality to his ruby-red slitted eyes.
"Is there anything else?" Agent Simpson asked from the corner of the room, he was impatient to also sacrifice himself like Zeela originally intended.
Zeel frowned and decided to test his refined abilities another time.
"What did she give you to be so loyal to her?" Zeel asked since he could tell that none of the sacrifices were brainwashed into their actions.
Had they been brainwashed even a little, the sacrifice would have been rendered useless.
"She gave us you," Agent Simpson replied.
"Pardon?"
"She said she would show us that Gods walk the world so there is a life after this one and we have seen you. After all the suffering, all we wanted was to know that Heaven existed,"
"Suicides aren't allowed into Heaven. Aren't your actions ironic?" Zeel stated looking at Agent Simpson as if he was a fool.
Agent Simpson smiled wryly and said "Suicides aren't allowed into Heaven unless their deaths are sacrificed to a God unselfishly,"
Zeel's face went rigid as his eyes widened in realization since that was indeed the case. Suicides were not allowed into Heaven unless sacrifice to a good-aligned God.
It was like a sort of loan from Heaven to Good-Aligned Gods, and Zeel was still a good-aligned God at this time.
The sacrifice of mortal Beings would grant the God power, and in exchange, the sacrificed mortals would be allowed into Heaven without having to pay the 'entrance fee'.
However, the God who benefitted from the sacrificial power would get the 'bill' from Heaven, and then they would have to complete designated tasks of Heaven or perform good deeds to make up for the loan.
Zeel's face was rigid because he wanted to stop himself from laughing since Agent Simpson and the others were obviously bamboozled by Zeela.
Had it been any other God, then the Heaven 'loan' would apply but not for Zeel because he fucked two Apollonian sisters. There was no way that Zeel's name held any importance in Heaven.
'Different Universe… different Heaven so maybe they'll get into the Kingdom," Zeel thought shrugging but not caring much for the sacrificed idiots.
Suddenly, Zeel furrowed his brows and asked "How many of you sacrificed your lives?"
"67…" Agent Simpson replied, "Why?"
"Because the energy doesn't match up…" Zeel stopped mid-sentence as his eyes widened in realization.
"Fuck!" he whispered.

He Ascended from Earth a thousand years ago. A millennial NEET shut-in at heart, he enjoys video games and holo tube while spending time with his female companion, who does all his deific duties for him. Join the crazy adventures of a lazy God and his unwilling follower's rise to power. The first few Arc's of the story is an Academy arc. I think you will know if you like the story by chapter 6 as the first chapter may be confusing (or sucks, idk I like it so whatever)._________ The story is a slow burn. If you are expecting quick progression, I suggest looking at some of the other great stories on RR. I personally enjoy and Patreon several, but that's not what I'm writing. That might hurt my chances of trending anytime soon (or ever lol), but that is fine with me. I'm sure some of you will appreciate the story as much as I do in writing it. FAQ: The story has elements of xianxia and wuxia along with some GameLit (at some point). The story takes place in an age where tech has advanced to a complete integration with magic. Imagine everything running on mana or qi instead of electricity, and you will get the idea. There will be crafting but not until later in the story. It's actually a core plot elemenet for Layla. I'm writing this story for my own enjoyment and as a way of relieving stress in my life. I'm not a pro author or a naturally gifted wordsmith. I don't have beta readers and every chapter posted is a first draft. I'm still learning and will strive to improve as I continue the story. If you don't speak up I can't work on improving as an author. I welcome any criticism and encouragement that would help me become a better writer. I can't believe you read this far down! ;) Enjoy the story. --Cover Credit-- Cover art (emblem) by: Oxana Che Cover Design by: Miblart

The Book of Rune
If you like moderately well-researched semi-medieval military logistics with some fantasy twists, and also conspiracy, and exploration, and violence, and maybe a dash of road movie, hey, Ruen just might be your thing. Plot-wise, basically there's a guy who got fired by Death, a kid with pyrotechnic tendencies, and a slave general who wouldn't mind retiring but ended up on a mass suicide mission. If you were looking for a less TL;DR version, a guy who got fired by Death meets a kid with pyrotechnic tendencies, and they try to get the guy un-fired while also trying to come to terms with death together (ooohhhh, look, I'm deep). Meanwhile a slave general does something stupid and ends up being sent on a suicide mission, and he tries to wreak havoc and save lives at the same time. The threads come together, I swear. This is a rough draft of a fantasy semi-book that I've had in the back of my head for some time. I've written a variety of short stories set in the world over the past three years, and I finally kicked myself into writing the actual story. Very much a slow work in progress. Occasional violence (okay, well, maybe more than occasional), occasional foul language.

The world is dynamic, constantly changing through the story based on the actions of the characters. The story is intended to be told not just through writing, but through music and animation as well. The first music video was released along with chapter six. If you want a taste, you can find my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2LG4UHDJYqNWn6YS5Q2CVA
