《The Crawford's Multiverse of Madness》Chapter 390 - Battles End

Bullets rained and bodies fell…
Zeel killed Militants left and right…
Blood soaked the floor and the building's walls were quickly crumbling…
There was no rest for the wicked or fanatical…
Each Militant did not hesitate to offer their lives for whatever cause, and each kill brought Zeel both euphoria and deep concern…
Sure, his Death Divinity was getting stronger with each kill, making him healthier and healthier, but the Death Divinity would soon overpower the Speed Divinity…
And that could not be allowed…
---PEW---
With all the bullets being fired, even Zeel was bound to get severely hit at some point, and he did…
Zeel clutched his left leg as a bullet tore through his muscles…
The muscle would heal, but until then, Zeel would be forced to walk around with a limp – a very inefficient limp…
Zeel snatched another machete from the ground, and tossed it across the room with all the strength he could currently muster…
---CHING---
There was a flash, then came the sharp sound of metal cutting through the wind, and finally, three Militants froze and slumped to the ground…
Their heads were cleanly removed from their bodies…
---BANG---
Zeel felt a bullet whiz past his ear, and a couple more chops later, he finally gained some reprieved…
But thankfully, he was never someone to completely let down his guard…
A Militant slashed at Zeel's back, and in the process of leaping forward to avoid the blow, Zeel's leg faltered, and he fell to the ground…
The Militant's machete caused a bloody scar on Zeel's back – something most of his most dangerous Cosmic Enemies could not accomplish…
Yet, an insignificant human had accomplished the task…
Zeel was on the ground bleeding from the scar on his back, but there was an expression of respect apparent on his face…
'Humans are full of surprises…' he thought…
Sadly, Zeel's newfound respect for Humans did nothing to stop him from reaping the Militant's life…
Without any hesitation, Zeel kicked the feet of the Militant, causing the man to fall into Zeel's embrace, and with a quick twist, another neck had been broken…
There was no time to rest…
Before Zeel could hop to his feet, a grenade was tossed in his direction, and he snatched it out of the air, and threw it back without blinking…

Grenades were inefficient, and as someone who could count seconds accurate to a picosecond, there was no way Zeel could ever be on the receiving end of a grenade's explosion…
---BOOOOOM---
The Militant caught the grenade he originally threw, and it became the end of him…
But this did not discourage the other Militants… as a matter of fact, it gave them new ideas about how to fight…
The Militants pulled the pins of the grenades in their possessions, and darted towards Zeel with clear suicidal, fanatical smiles on their faces…
Zeel recovered a gun from nearby and started to fire with everything he had…
Many of the Militants slumped to the ground with grenades in hand, but there was no way Zeel could kill them all in time…
And as long as they got within ten feet of his position… let's just say, this would be Zeel's shortest visit to a particular Universe…
---POP---
---POP---
---POP---
---POP---
---POP---
Suddenly, gunshots rang alongside Zeel's firing, picking off the incoming Militants one by one…
[Warp]
When all the Militants had fallen, Zeel quickly warped a couple of feet backward, just enough to avoid the brunt of the explosion…
---BBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM---
All the grenades detonated at once and the building overhead crumbled…
When the dust cleared a bit, Zeel could see the dark-haired female guarding his back…
She was exactly the female that he unintentionally saved by picking the wrong time to interrupt a beheading festival…
'She is obviously a soldier…' Zeel could tell from the way her hands held the gun…
As for the Researcher, he was next to the female but judging by his trembling hands, Zeel knew he couldn't depend on the man to be much help…
Still, Zeel remained equally cautious of the Dark-Haired Agent and the Researcher…
Zeel closed his eyes and sensed movement in the rubble, and as soon as he detected movement, the gun would blaze in that direction, silencing what opposition was about to emerge.
Just like that, Zeel pre-emptively killed dozens of Militants as he made his way forward…
Thankfully, not the entire building had collapsed, so the Quantum Computer remained relatively unharmed…
The moment Zeel brushed his fingers against the Quantum Computer, he knew there wouldn't be much time…
He could feel the Quantum Computer was in a constant state of decay…

It probably had a couple of hours left before complete degradation…
Zeel's fingers moved like a blur as he began altering the fundamental makeup of the Quantum Computer…
This hastened the degradation of the Quantum Computer, and Zeel was forced to sacrifice the phone in his pocket as a means to slow the degradation process…
When he ensured the Quantum Computer would not degrade before he finished obtaining all the data he could, Zeel quickly programmed a makeshift AI into the core…
Zeel was not simply creating a program with the Quantum Computer, he was fundamentally altering the material state of the Quantum Computer to create a 7th Generation Homo-Superior tech…
Humans had programming languages to instruct their machines…
Homo-Superiors had programming languages that could link devices to the Cyber-Void – a data stream where the matter of the Material Universe was metaphysically designed from Computronium…
"Backup is coming!" The Black-Haired Agent yelled, and Zeel typed even faster…
A couple of seconds later, Zeel was finished and the Quantum Computer broke into a strange liquid and reformed as an armband that he quickly attached to his left upper arm…
It was not Zeel's finest work, but it was the best he could do with the limited time…
---PEW---
---PEW---
---PEW---
---PEW---
Zeel ducked as reinforcements arrived and the battle started anew…
The Black-Haired Agent and the Researcher returned fire, but not very accurately…
Zeel similarly raised his gun, taking aim and pulling the trigger but nothing happened…
The gun was empty, and he had no time to look for any more ammunition…
---ZZZZZZIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGG---
---ZZZZZZIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGG---
---ZZZZZZIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGG---
---ZZZZZZIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGG---
The grating sound of something sharp bombarded Zeel's air, causing internal bleeding unlike any other…
He clutched his ears and screamed, trying to fight the pain, but failing spectacularly…
'It's potent and directed…' Zeel determined, immediately identifying the source as a sonic device, but what was such a device doing in the desert?
He didn't know…
Zeel's ears bled, but eventually, he got accustomed to the noise and manage to bear it for a couple of seconds – just enough to retaliate…
Without any better options, Zeel smacked the ground with all his strength and a dust cloud appeared, blocking the sights of the Militant holding the sonic weapon…
The weapon had to be directed at the target, and without a clear line of sight, the Militant panicked and dropped the weapon…
A rock sailed out of the dust cloud and relieved the Militant of his head…
In a better state of mind, Zeel would have been able to warp away, but since warping required all his senses to plot an exit point, there was no way he could warp with his hearing affected…
There was no way to tell the proper dimensions…
Zeel shakily stood to his feet and walked out of the dust cloud, expecting the majority of the battle to be over with, but the worst was yet to come…
"Rocket Launcher!" The Black-Haired Agent yelled, but with his hearing impaired, Zeel was a bit too late to react…
[Shallow Time-Zone]
The world in his eyes slowed, stretching one second into five seconds…
Again, warping was off the table, so Zeel attempted to run, but a couple of steps later, he was utterly exhausted…
Moving in a Time-Zone required a refined control of Death Energy that he did not currently possess, so each movement was akin to dragging his legs through sand…
Zeel turned around and watched as the projectile grew ever closer in his direction, and since there was no way to outrun it, there was only one option left…
He had to ensure the projectile detonated before it arrived close enough to kill him…
The blast radius was about twenty feet, but the instant death radius was about ten feet, and the projectile was exactly twelve feet away…
So, there was some time to guarantee a degree of survival…
Zeel forced his Divine Energy to its maximum output, causing black lightning to flicker on his fingertips while he simultaneously maintained the current Time-Zone…
Using two Divine Abilities at once was taxing on a 1st Stage God, but Zeel had no better options…
This would probably exhaust him for a couple of days, but that was a good sacrifice compared to his life…
When the lightning had accumulated enough, Zeel deactivated his Time-Zone and sent the lightning towards the incoming projectile…
---BBBBOOOOOOOOOMMMM---
The black lightning and projectile met in a massive explosion that blanketed the area…
Zeel's was blasted away, smacking his head on a nearby rock as he submitted to unconsciousness…

Wander West, in Shadow
BOOK 1 COMPLETED A young wizard journeys west, through dark forests and dangerous lands, searching for something. Accompanied by a wild witch who has secrets of her own, they come across terrible creatures, hauntings, cursed villages, and memories from their past. Who else will they meet along their journey, and to find what he is looking for, how far will the wizard have to wander west? NOTE: The above synopsis is intentionally written to be as spoiler-free as possible. If you would like a more in-detail synopsis, one that contains minor spoilers, please check out the "Synopsis" chapter at the beginning of this fiction. If you read and enjoy, please leave a rating or review! FORMERLY TITLED: THE GLIMMERLING This story was formerly titled "The Glimmerling", because the first part was a short story of that title; it has since been expanded upon, thus the title change. Chapters 1-8 (30k words) are the first 'arc', if you want to get a feel for the story. To give some context on the setting: Magic is a bit weaker in this story than you might be used to, and we start off following some relatively new magic users. For some perspective, being able to light a campfire with magic is considered relatively advanced for someone who is the age of the main character. Magic can become very powerful - and there are some examples of powerful wizards within this story - but it's not where the main characters are yet. Part of the story is about following them as they learn more about magic. Enemies are also very dangerous, and running, hiding, or trying to talk their way out of a dangerous situation is often a better choice than fighting for the characters. While I have added tags for traumatizing content, sexuality, violence, swearing, etc. I try to avoid super-explicit descriptions of these things. But they are part of the story.
