《The Land of the Unknown》Episode 1 (Part 3)

Tommy and Antonio left the library and wasted more time exploring the unfamiliar town until it got around the time for the Planetarium to start. Antonio looked at his watch while Tommy glanced at his map, hoping they went in the right direction.
The two arrived back at the Planetarium where an attendant showed them the way to the back door as a line of impatient people stepped inside.
Everyone found some good seats on the floor as the doors shut, and the big room got dark. The woman working there moved toward the orb in the center of the chamber and turned it, showing off some pictures while she narrated. The audience oohed at the different things happening in the day and night cycles.
Birds would fly, and clouds would take shape in the daylight, while shooting stars and owls flew by in the night. A shot of a meteor also showed up as it hit a planet called Cobrichi, resulting in an explosion of stardust. It flew over the crowd, almost as if one could touch it themselves.
Eventually, the show ended, and everyone applauded. The crowd left the area and headed to the gift shop and the museum next to it. After a while, Tommy and Antonio headed out of the Planetarium.
“That was so cool!” Tommy exclaimed, getting pumped up.
“Yeah, it was like a mix of 2D, and 3D rolled into one!” Antonio added.
“Couldn’t you just say 4D?” Tommy said, rolling his eyes.
“Or maybe it’s like a 4D slideshow?”
Tommy facepalmed and walked away.
“Hey, wait for me!” Antonio exclaimed, trying to follow his friend at a breakneck pace.
.-.-.-.
“Ok, I think we still have some time left,” Antonio checked his watch and confirmed.
“All right, let’s head to that science place,” Tommy replied. He took the map from his friend to take another look at it. “Do you have any idea where it could be?”

“Hmm, I’m not so sure where it could be exactly...” Antonio glanced over and sighed. “But I know we’ll find it, eventually, hopefully.” He pondered for a moment and thought up an idea. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. He dialed up a number and placed the phone near his ear.
“Uh, what are you doing?”
“Calling my Uncle,”
“Oh, good idea.”
Soon, the phone came through. “Hey, Sam, it’s me. Yeah, I’m on a field trip with my friend in Aylont. Yeah. Uh-huh. I know. Can you tell me where your place is? Yes, that one. No, I won’t. I promise.” Antonio took another look at the map while Tommy tried to listen in on their conversation, for he did not understand what was going on at the other side of the phone. “All right,” Antonio continued. “I guess I’ll see you there then. Thanks so much and goodbye.” He hung up the phone and turned to his pal.
“So, how did it go?” Tommy asked, tapping his foot.
“Hand me the map." Antonio insisted. "I know where to go, just follow me.” He strolled along the sidewalk at a brisk pace.
“I take it you won't tell me until we get there?” He inquired, running over to catch up.
“Yep!”
“Ugh, of course...”

The Book of Hickory
Now why did Hickory go and punch that Angel? Sure it spooked him, popping up right there at lunch, and yet, it wasn't fear that balled his hand into a fist - Cause wouldn't you? Wouldn't anyone - with a sick Ma at home, Da long dead, buried, all them prayers piling up on bruised knees, unanswered? Hickory was angry, all right. He was fierce, now - cause that Angel didn't show up to give no help, that Angel came by asking for it - with all that power just plain to see, the power to fix the world and all that ails it! And now look what poor Hickory has to do - to save the world? Now how is he supposed to do that when its taking near everything he's got - just to keep them chickens safe, Ma fed, and himself out of trouble - All he wanted was maybe just a dance with May, maybe a bit more, to hold her close? That she's sweet, now, a voice like an angel, but now she's over there lookin at him like he's more than a man. And that's not to say Hickory is bad, not all the time, not ever on purpose - just there are things a man has to - That drinking and fighting ain't wrong just as long as the chores are done proper first, that those parts of life that make it worth living ain't no sin, that loving a lady is proper and Hickory just has so much love to give! And May is special, right, sweet and soft, now she's sophisticated. That she wears her passion like a pearl necklace? That certainly Hickory would notice, naturally - that she's already spoken for, perhaps taken? That ever since Hickory came back, that all she can think about is swallowing - those strange feelings, because it wouldn't do, would it? For a Lady? But certainly she can worship him and still be seen with Weston Covanger? Because Weston needs May, that what happens in the Study is only half the battle, the Men's Business, and he's far too proud to settle for half of anything. That if he wants to move up the ranks of his family, to be more than a Covanger, to become the Covanger? He's going to need a woman in the Kitchen as well - he's going to need May. And if that seems a bit old fashioned? A bit too much like the Wild West? Well the West is starting to get wild again now that everyone starts to Drink. A different take on LitRPG where answers aren't given - they must be earned, discovered and fought for, one at a time. An orator style, a long read, filled with magic buildings, crafting, alchemy, but most of all - This is a story about the human spirit. About understanding what defines a person, their morals, their beliefs, and also faith when everything they understand becomes challenged - changed. So do they. People can change. They will. Just not always for the better, not always - sometimes. Sometimes that's enough. Sometimes that's even everything.

Dawn Avante — The Record of Otherworld’s Cosmic War
The young man remembered. Through flames and ocean, he fought, all to be the symbol of hope. He started with a fist, then a gun, now a psychic blade. Some say the merging of his planet with this beautiful hell was a curse — that the Earth was doomed. As an optimist, he disagreed. They weren’t merged into a world with monsters and tyrants. The monsters were locked in the same world with a hero. What happened next was a tale as old as time. A sound of fighting was heard in the distance. He felt the presence of an old foe and several old burdens. It appeared Chronicler’s victory didn’t drill the lesson into that psychopath’s brain. Fine. He stood. He didn’t mind hard-carrying those idiots on his shoulder again. The hero vanished in the blur, speeding to save the day. … How did we get here? Well, let's go back a few hours before shit hits the fan. To a young porter who didn’t know that fate had a greater plan for him. Plans which involved comic wars, slaying outer-gods, and grenades. So. Many. Grenades.
