《Black Ice》Chapter 4

[Are we already done with school for today? wow that went by fast.] Heise thought as he walked outside to wait for his father.
"Heise come here for a bit" Mr Dom said.
Heise stopped as he turned around, looked at him and asked "what's the matter Teacher?"
"Well you see, There is no need for you to come to school anymore if your knowledge is already this good. I cant believe im saying this to a 2 year old, but we will be having High School level classes together from now on." Mr Dom said with a sigh. [I hope you dont know this stuff at least.] He thought.
Heise smiled as he said "Sure, but if its High School or higher level math i wont need to learn anything."
Mr dom rolled his eyes at that comment. [ He is only 2, how could he know about such advanced mathematics. He is probably just playing around again. Well at least This little monster wont be wasting his talents. I sure hope he has a high aptitude for cultiviation or his brains will go to waist.] He said to himself.
Heise waited for 10 minutes for his father. He arrived carrying a huge bird on his back. This bird is called a Hell Chicken and its one of the most common creatures around the village. Although Heise has seen a bunch of weird animals he hasn't yet seen something close to a monster. His father smiled and looked at him with a carrying gaze.
"Lets go back to the house, i've brought some meat with me today." He said.
Heise opened his mouth wide a really, happy grin could be seen. Ever since he came to this world meat has always tasted great here. For some reason he really enjoyed it even tho he didn't really like meat that much in his previous life.
They both disapeared in as his father carried him to their house. It was the same old house that heise was born. The wood had still the same texture and feeling as it did when it was cut, as if it would remain like this forever.
Leng Landed while leaving heise down and preparing a fire to cook the meat. Heise sat down next to the fire a pondering look could be seen on his cute face. His father looked at him and asked "Is there something bothering you?"
Heise pondered a bit more as he asked a question that has been bugging him for a while. "What is cultivation and heavenly energy?"
Leng laughed as he was expecting a question like that. Ever since his child was able to utter his first word he could speak and comunicate with him. He even was able to walk at only 2 months old wich should have been impossible since it takes many attempts for a child to be able to find its center of gravity.

"Well How do i explain this.." He said with a pondering gaze as he placed his hand on his chin.
"It all starts with the 81 gods, They are the reason why we are able to cultivate in the first place." Leng continued
"The ones in the books?" Heise interupted him.
Leng nodded and said "There are a total of 81 different species of intelligent life on our world. They are very different from each other and some have way lesser numbers than others thanks to war and low breeding rates. Such examples are ghouls, pheonixes, dragons, imps, cloud walkers,Golden crows, vampires and many more. On the other side there are a specific amount of creatures that have dominated the lands thanks to the amount of population, such as us humans, satyrs, merpeople, giants, demons, centaurs, dwarfs, cynocephaly, werewolves, elfs and angels. However from the pattern that you've noticed us humans are simply much weaker than the other creatures. For that reason we were given special body parts that we call divine body parts. For example my divine body part is my heart."
"what do those body parts do and what is mine? Is it the heart like fathers?" Heise said with intrest.
"Well you see every human has a different divine body part, but there are some lineages that everyone has the same divine body part but varry in power. For example the heart as a divine body part is special, since it can only be found in our Bing clan. We have the ability of controling ice. Think of it as making ice out of thin air or controiling ice. There are different ranks in our clan which im not gonna go in detail. Divine body parts can have different powers, depending on the person or even bloodline. Most of the people on the village have nature powers, but there are some with different powers thanks to a diviation on their bloodline. As for you Heise you are special." Leng said.
"in what way?" Asked Heise.
"Well go ahead and look at your reflection. All divine body parts are pitch black, but once someone focuses on them they can see the universe inside them." Leng said while bringing a mirror.
Heise Looked at the mirror and noticed something incredible. His eyes were completely black, no white could be seen, not even a difference anywere. He focused in his eyes as the universe itself could be seen inside. He gasped at the sight as he never expected his eyes to look like this.
Leng smiled at his sons reaction and said " You are the first person in our bing clan to have a different divine body part. Actually you are the only human ever known to have divine eyes. Even i dont know what ability you might have when you awaken."

"Awaken? What does that mean?" Heise said with a puzzled expression.
Leng sat down and sighed "well you see thanks to our body parts being to powerful for us to control when we are born they are sealed till the age of six were we have a ceremony of awakening. Once someone awakens they can start cultivating their Heavenly energy. On the other side other creatures have the advantage over us since they can start cultivation earlier than us."
"What does father mean by cultivating Heavenly Energy?" Asked Heise once more.
Leng Laughed as he shook his head in defeat [This child is too much in a hurry to learn] He thought.
"Well lets start with what cultivation is. Cultivasion is stacking heavenly energy layers on your body which increases ones longevity and strenght, the more layers there are the stronger one is. Heavenly energy is something that is everywhere around us, Its the very air of our planet." Leng said.
"So how is talent measured?" Said Heise.
"Well when one is born an innate amount of heavenly energy resides dormant in their body. If the amount of the heavenly energy is 10 layers than that person will have the minimum requirement for cultivation. We call this innate talent, The more the better for their cultivation since it signals the speed of heavenly energy absorption. If one has 1 heavenly energy at age 6 his is going to be a mortal for his whole life and the maximum amount of heavenly energy layers he can reach is 50. While a 10 layer has the ability to break through 100 and continue since once reaches 100 he has stepped in the path of true cultivation. A 15 layer has even greater talent since he can reach 100 much earlier which makes him faster at cultivation and so on and so forth." Leng said while letting out a deep breath.
"So basically for one to be able to cultivate he will need to have at least 10 layers at the day of awakening. What is the maximum amount a person can reach with heavenly energy?" asked Heise. If any other person were to see a 2 year old ask such profound questions at that age they would probably have already gone insane, however Leng wasn't fazed at all since he had already been with his son for 2 years now, he can understand him completely. Its like a bond they built.
"Hmmm this is kind of complicated. There are ranks to cultivation, they go like this. 1-100 layers is called spirit start, 101-200 layers spirit control, 201-400 layers spirit divine, 401-700 layers spirit smite, 701-900 layers supreme master, 901-1000 layers godly hand,1001-1100 layers titled godly hand. There are higher levels but im not sure of their tittles or layers, but they should be the strongest being alive in this plain. Even a tittled godly hand is able to kill 100 Godly hand is able to kill 50 godly hand level cultivator, godly hand cultivators can kill thousands of supreme master level cultivator in one hand. On the other hand from spirit control to supreme master the difference isn't really that huge since godly hand is extremely hard to reach, not even 1/100 geniuses are able to reach that level in their life." Leng said.
Heise pondered as the info he received was too much for him. [So baisically for one to cultivate he will need to stack heavenly energy on their body. One need to reach 100 layers to be able to step into the path of true cultivation... and talent is also a big key. Insn't this world even harsher from earth? From what father said war and fighting happens a lot outside. I should probably focus on training in the future. I sure hope my talent is good enough for cultivation or this will be a waste of a reincarnation.]
"Dad when is someone considered a genius?" Asked heise since he wansn't sure.
"Good question! Well you see a 10 layer is considered the normal of normals, but in reality that is hard by itself, most humans are born with lower than 10 layers. Unless someone is from a cultivation clan they have a way lower chance of having an amount of layer higher than 10. So a 10 layer is considered a basic cultivator in the cultivation world, a 20 layer is considered a rare talent, a 30 layer is called a legendery talent and a 35 layer is considered a genius. However that isn't the final level people have placed, there are some that have 40 layers and they are called chosen. They usually are the main descendants of clans." Leng said as he got up and once again spoke. "Well that's enough for today you should not worry about cultivation from such a young age. You still have 4 years to learn about it."
Heise nodded his head as he got up as well, as they both were entering the house turned around and noticed a small creature, it had wings and looked like a wisp. It suddendly reacted after being seen and disapeared in an instant.
[what was that? did i just see things? no i'm pretty sure i saw it.] he thought as he went inside.

Dear Spellbook (Link to rewrite in blurb)
A rewrite of this story has been posted here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/49881/dear-spellbook-a-fantasy-time-loop-rewrite Live. Study. Repeat. Tal is a sorcerer in a world where they are killed on sight, traveling with a man charged with carrying out the task. Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. New entries on Mondays Credit to JackOfHearts for the cover.

Et Non Lucem
A lonely fortress, a (slightly) deranged assassin, secrets, intrigue, magic and war. What could possible go wrong? If you've ever wondered what would happen if somebody attempted to blend a realistic medieval world with fantasy, then this is for you. If you've ever wondered what happens when you stick some (extremely) flawed humans into positions of power and try making them save the world, then this story is for you. Or if you're simply bored and can't seem to decide on a new story to read, then this story is for you! This is my first ever attempt at writing a story after years and years of reading, so any and all constrictive criticism is appreciated!

(un)Lucky
After dying on his hospital bed, Jack is surprised to once again regain consciousness. Turns out he’s in purgatory where he learns that God has been pretty into gaming lately… you already know where this is going, don’t you? Yeah, yeah, I know, another LitRPG story like many others. SO original… But why then do we keep reading them and looking for more? The answer, for me at least, is because they’re usually just plain fun. That’s all I hope my story can be: fun. No fixed releases for now, nor any future plans. I’m just trying to enjoy my time writing it. Btw, the cover is something random I did and has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Don’t ask me why.

Life is Feudal
No OP stuff, status bars, levels or skills. This story is in favour of more realistic setting in a world of humans and various monsters. "Behind the mask of the assertive, resolute facade that employs ruthless routes at any given moment, lies the frail, anxious heart that were once but a puny human. Reviled and revered by many, none would ever know my true allegiance lies within myself, merely trying to survive this mess." Just the life of a grumpy man child living in a terrible piece of shit or a desolate state in which I call an alternate historical take on medieval Europe. Living as a peasant who is forced to take up arms to defend his own kin. This story grants an insightful take on the life of people living under constant danger, from vying nobles who commit atrocities in the name of justice, eager nations and barbarians aiming to take a piece of the bountiful land and mythical divine monsters who resembles a walking catastrophe in any possible way. [If you're easily offended by alternate-history religion and cultural practices, then you shouldn't read this.]
