《Birth of an AntiHero》Chapter 112 - Any injured?

Alyandrea: “He’s … taking a lot longer than he did getting us. Could there be a ‘reason’ for that?”
Wayne: “What did he say he was doing? Checking for villains?”
Ophelia: “Getting Noel.
…
oh, and Rise. He’s also looking for Rise.”
Elijah: “Is Rise only an afterthought? Ahahaha.”
Ophelia: “...*Blushes*”
Oliviera: “Guys...I-I’m worried. What if he doesn’t come back…?
What...W-What if the villains got him? And...And were next??”
Ms. Daisy: “Don’t think so pessimistically, dear.”
The shrubs in between two trees part, giving way for two anxious women.
Before leaving, the security personnel tasked to protect Ms. Daisy offered a walkie for easy access communication, since she instructed them to oversee classes 1-A and 2-B. Despite her objection, a single guard is chosen to remain by her side. They shuffled through the bevy of coarse, young trees that connected, yet simultaneously separated both clearings full of non-combatants.
And very shortly, Class 3-C fell into plain sight.
Ophelia: “Ms. Daisy!”
Mrs. Haldeen: “Actually you should refer to her as ‘Mrs.’. Mrs. Daisy is happily married!”
Ms. Daisy: “It ain’t happily! Ophelia dearie, you just call me however you feel like.”
Ophelia: “O – Oka-”
Mrs. Haldeen: “Mrs. Daisy, must you misguide her?! You’re confusing them! Ophelia...I believe that’s what Mrs. Daisy called you. You mustn't call her Ms! only an unmarried female adult should be called ‘Ms’.”
Ms. Daisy: “Stop being a fool! Ms. is perfectly acceptable for use by married women. In fact, it’s the most PROPER term for both! It should be used by ALL women regardless of marital status! ‘Mrs.’ practically SCREAMS that I’m related to that man! MR’S. It sounds like ‘mister’s’! Like I’m property of that … that ABANDONER!”
With a huff, Ms. Daisy turned her head around, taking in the view of Ian, examining Aria’s pupils with a miniature flashlight.
Mrs. Haldeen: “...We should just agree to disagree on this matter. Regardless of what you want to be called, you are still married to your husband. Try not to shame him too often in front of the kids – lest they lose respect for the man when they meet him in person.”
Ms. Daisy: “Hmhmph! *Mumbles* You make it sound like I’m stupid…
OKAY! Everyone injured step forward now! If you do that, then I can heal you!”
…
Nobody. Even after looking around; searching, INVESTIGATING each and every child, moved their lips. Their hands stilled – not showing the slightest semblance of movement.

Ms. Daisy: “Are you kids being modest or is there something the matter with you all? Speak up now, or else I won’t be able to help. I can’t read minds and figure out where you need healing after the experiences you all had!”
Wayne: “Um, Ms. Daisy...I...I don’t think we have anybody injured. But I wouldn’t know since I never encountered the villains.”
Ophelia: “We do have somebody that needs your help Ms. Daisy. Over here. her name is Aria, she came along with Ian and I back when we met earlier today.”
Ms. Daisy: “Yes, yes. I remember her, the quiet child. That’s her laying down? Is she the only one that needs help? I can take care of more of you at the same time, if your injuries aren’t that severe.”
Elijah: “Well, Ms. Daisy...the thing is… Back when I was holding onto Leos, after I found him covered in blood and missing his head – he had no pulse, and I was certain his heart had stopped beating.”
Ms. Daisy: “Yes, darlin’. When you lose your head I assume it IS very common to die, soon after. Although in some cases, losing your head doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll die.
Such instances are far too rare to count on consecutively, but they DO happen. It usually means that the miracle survivor was housing a special ability that sustains their life even after losing a critical appendage or important body part. They would have activated it without realizing they even had it! Oh: but I’m not sayin’ any of YOU have this going on! Hahahaha! Such a miracle is rarely seen in one individual! Imagine a class full!”
Elijah: “…*Stares at Leos*”
Leos: “Hey – that is NOT what happened to me! What kind of magical superpower would even LET me regrow my own head?!”
Alyandrea: “If you had a body made of sand or clay, then losin’ your head and all the blood that came after can also be turned into sand or clay. Then, you just have to regrow your lost head or replace it with sand or clay.”
Leos: “Sorry to ruin your precious theory, but I’m not a walking sand castle and I’m NOT some...living clay sculpture. I’m just a normal human!”
Alyandrea: “It doesn’t HAVE to be sand or clay. Anything would fit there. Water, fire, electricity, air-”

Li Shun: “Air? A body of air? If that even usable..? Wouldn’t a light breeze scatter them, or even worse – couldn’t somebody just breathe them in?”
Elijah: “It’s not so simple, Shun. With control over air you would naturally gain control over wind. You wouldn’t get ‘blown’ away by it, unless it was completely out of your range of control. But that applies to any element, I would think. Like fire, being burned by hotter fire, rocks being smashed by a stronger rock. Destruction energy being destroyed by a more potent level of destruction. Creation energy being -!
Oh. actually, how would that work with creation powers?”
Alyandrea: “Li shun I said AIR powers, not FLUFF powers – you cannot assume air would get ‘whisked’ away by a gentle breeze! And about the breathing thing – First, horrible image. Thanks. Second – I would never try that. Since they have control over air: couldn’t they just control their air even while inside you?”
Ian: “*Lifts head up* I agree! Won’t ‘breathing them in’ like you claim, let them gain control over your personal oxygen reserves? They’d just tear your lungs and circulatory system apart before your body can breakdown their ‘air’ body and separate the nutrients it needs, like oxygen, from the stuff it doesn’t need, like carbon dioxide. Either way, I would never try that unless my body was completely indestructible or something.”
Elijah: “Even then you still have to be careful. Indestructible physiques are really not completely invulnerable to damage like we think. Sometimes a hard enough punch can make them bleed, or many punches can do the trick. Usually magic works, since indestructible bodies only prevent physical harm and does next to nothing about magic.”
Ms. Daisy: “So...Am I to take it that NONE of you have any type of physical injury on you? Any at all?
(That IS strange. Even the greatest of revival techniques just barely restore one back to life, leaving many major wounds in danger of worsening and just BARELY healing them enough to not immediately die. But from the sounds of it, that child Leos, he completely regrew his head without muscle or bone issues around his neck and shoulders. Not even the connective tissues or mem--
No, wait. I shouldn’t jump to conclusions so quickly. They are only children. I cannot conclude anything yet, until I give each and every one of these children a thorough examination. They have yet to notice anything wrong, but if it IS a reviving ability...they should still be in danger.)”
Oliviera: “Oh! ME – Me! I had my head or neck smashed in by a hammer!”
Ms. Daisy: “...I….I see. And you’re alive?”
Alyandrea: “I had my head cut clean off. So she says. *Points to Ophelia* I don’t know if it’s really true though.”
Brennan: “For the LAST TIME -”
Ophelia: “...It’s true. I watched her get it cut off by the enemy’s circular blade.”
Leos: “Ha! ‘The enemy’...such phrases are distasteful here.”
Ophelia: “...What am I supposed to call them then? They’re murderers and invaders. They’re our enemies.”
Leos: “My problem isn’t with you – it’s with this school! I can’t believe we have to use such words on the FIRST day of school. I thought this was supposed to be a safe place of learning, NOT a battleground! I was promised an experience similar to an ORDINARY school life, safe for some extra duties like cleaning, refereeing or nursing! NOT fending for myself against bloody murderers! I can still feel the pain from my neck being torn in ha—
*Looks around* let’s just forget it.”
Ms. Daisy: “(I see what’s going on now. These kids are tryin’ to be brave. They’re purposely joking around and snapping at each other, so as to avoid thinking about the pain they felt at the moment of their demise. Some revival abilities allow one the luxury of forgetting how they died. To the revived person, it’s as if they lost a part of their life. One person held that ability hundreds of years ago. It doesn’t seem like these children here had such a luxurious choice. They’re going to need some serious counseling.) Please withhold your anger for AFTER the treatments. I’m sure you all have specific degrees of pain and fear. For now, let me confirm something. Is this everybody from Class 3 - C? Can you all confirm with me right now that you feel NO pain from an actual physical injury? I would like to finish this emergency examination with only healing those in immediate danger.”

Nobody's Way
Foreign Thorn: Book 1 For eight centuries, the people of Isla have wanted for nothing. The Creator, Maere, uses Her power not only to keep them healthy and fed, but also to map the direction of each person's future Path - their vocation, role in society, and even the partner they'll spend their life with. In a world where infighting once threatened the very survival of humankind, the old texts say that Maere personally stepped in to help guide Her creations to harmony. All is not well among the people of the northern lands, however, as Jian discovers when she receives her own long-awaited Path. The Creator has chosen to favour some towns, but not others, leading to anarchy and unrest in the east, and fierce distrust between the neighbours who enjoy Her protection and those who don't. After many nights of disturbing premonitions, visions of a face uncannily familiar to her, and a voice beckoning her to "Homeland," Jian decides she needs to find answers for herself. She hires Madrigal, a surly young traveller hailing from an "unblessed" village, to take her to the southern lands. The swordsman is on the run from something, or someone, but Jian has no choice but to trust him. When the two leave the safety of the familiar and meet Quinn, a mysterious boy who seems to know more about Jian than she does about herself, it becomes clear that there are forces besides the old magics, forces completely unknown to the people of Isla, in play. Madrigal and Jian aren't sure if Quinn can be trusted, but they're certain he knows more than he's letting on...
