《Birth of an AntiHero》Chapter 194 – Tetra Terror vs the Young Pharaoh. Part 1.

Wea: “Young… Young Lord! I brought them as fast as I could! Miss High Priestess Ishzaa is here! She also sensed a strong disturbance in your mind before coming in! That basically confirms that something is happening during this match!
(Who would have thought that such a stupid fortune telling method … would ACTUALLY wind up coming true?! The danger he mentioned… and how there’s somebody that was going to intrude on our match and cause our loss, it’s crazily accurate!! And to think… That wild – looking guy back then figured all this out by… by sniffing us??)
Grandma- I… I mean High Priestess… What should we do?! If we continue going at this rate, the third match would undoubtedly be that bastard Tetra’s!”
High Priestess Ishzaa: “...Relax. Watch and see for yourself how grandma clears away this intrusive energy.
It’s that old crazy witch again… I just know it! She seems to have buried a fragment of her energy into poor Luxor’s mind where it would effectively shatter his mental state. No, wai… this is far worse than that… he is physically suffering!
Is she trying to kill our chosen prodigal inheritor?? Have the Balanced Lands gone crazy under this temperamental fool’s leadership?! Or… is another force at work? Regardless, this would’ve been completely overlooked if I had not come here in person. Her energy is just that discreet. But, if she really wants to play… then...
*ERRRRR~~HAAAAA!*”
Aleatha Eseria: “I am going to begin again. Miles, be prepared to begin the third ro--!
!!! Gaaah… it’s… it’s broken! WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?! WHO DARES TO INTERFERE?”
From the announcer’s booth high above, a steady stream of energy was flowing directly into the young pharaoh’s mind. It could entangle his consciousness, wrap itself around his brain and tear apart at his head from the inside. It was subtle at first, however, the very moment the matches began, like a spider thread, it directly entangled his thoughts, prevented him from thinking and froze his movements directly. As a result of his mind going blank, so to, did his body. Or, to be more precise, his body went completely limp.
If that was all though, things would be much better for the young Egyptian Pharaoh. Nobody except for Wea would have noticed a thing. But, for some strange reason, The boy continued to bleed from his ears and mouth.
And people already knew that Tetra Terror, as powerful as he is, cannot do anything to cause internal bleeding. At least, not by depending on his superpower. This is what confused people, letting people watching from the stands wake up from their trance-like gazes. New rumors, hypotheses and questionable analyses began to stir – because, although Miles the new announcer had the ability to ‘coerce’ people into following his rhythm like brainwashing, by tapping into their collective desires and beliefs, such a fragile state of controlling is easily susceptible to a change in the subject’s thought process, a well as what they deem believable and accurate.

The truth behind this matter, is quite honestly the woman’s vindictiveness towards those that disobey her or cause her plans to go astray. It was the same exact indignant vengefulness that led her to desiring an assassination attempt against Noel, Oliviera, Ophelia, Elijah and the rest, but mainly those four. The reasoning was simple: each of them had offended her! And anyone who dares to offend Aleatha, now that she’s practically taken over the school…
Well, naturally, they deserve nothing short of death!
But she wouldn’t kill this boy right now. Not here, in front of all these people. Not when there may be a potential witness who can speak out against her or report the school’s questionable conduct to Herotopia’s Elite, and especially not when doing so might implicate her newly attained pawn, the money-less and practically homeless child, Tetra. Regardless of her ‘feelings’ towards the boy, right now, when she has many enemies in this country, hidden all around the city within their own acquired places in society and vying for her spot by his side, when her plan is so close to completion, no less…
She can’t lose him yet. SO, for no other reason except for this important worry of hers, Aleatha Eseria is NOT planning on killing the Pharaoh – to – be.
…At least not yet. No. She can take him out any other time, like tonight, and frame one of the brainwashed nurses under her command. It’s such an easy plan, nobody would even care to suspect her!
With these thoughts in place, she controlled her energy to shift its density, physical traits and properties from ‘sticky’ and adhesive into something more ‘sharp’ and ‘rigid’. The energy transformed form a web of spider silk-like threads into a double – sided knife that tore away at him from within. After all, even if she wasn’t planning on killing him, it didn’t mean she wasn’t above venting her frustrations and anger at this disobedient and undesirable little brat! So for the first two rounds, after the match began, he secretly allowed her energy to work its magic and go haywire within the confines of his body.
All Tetra needed to do was stand there and look pretty. She already forced him to agree, since there was no way she was betting on him in this mismatch. It’s unfortunate that Luxor had to be the 3rd Strongest in the Hero Rankings…

…Nevertheless! He’s in the way. And because he is in her way…
Luxor Al Amin, the young Pharaoh of Egypt and well respected prodigy of their current Generation, has to go.
…
..
.
And then that woman showed up.
...That woman! That damned hag of the Al Amins! What brought her here?!!
Aleatha couldn’t help staring out in disbelief. This woman was as old as her own mother, and could tangle with the best magic users and psychic powerhouses around! It’s hard to say who exactly would win, if they were to clash right now, while simultaneously trying to avoid the watchful eyes of those spectating staff who aren’t a part of their special forces.
She had no choice. She had to move her energy away as far and as fast as possible – lest that badgering hag make a scene.
Aleatha Eseria: “...Dammit! Miles, find someone to quickly send over a telepathic message for Tetra to DO something useful while he still maintains the upper - hand.”
Miles: “...I don’t mind, but… the third round of this match up is already underway. Should we really risk it over some minor detail like Tetra just standing still and posing?”
Aleatha: “...’Minor detail’…? Aha… hahahaha! Minor detail…
Minor detail…!
*Clenches fist*
If you weren’t so useful to me right now, then I would have already killed you! WHAT exactly do you think you’re doing questioning MY orders?? Are you calling that WOMAN down there… a MINOR DETAIL?! Get your head out of your ass and hurry up with the message I’m having you send to Tetra! Otherwise… You won’t live to see tomorrow’s light~!!!”
Miles: “Eep! Ye- Yes ma’am!”
Meanwhile, down at the arena, it was unclear what exactly was running through Tetra’s mind right now. But in Luxor’s case, a swathe of emotions bubbled forth all at once.
Fear at the inability to even process a series of thoughts properly.
Anger, rage and stubborn indignation towards the mysterious ‘helper’ Tetra had – when normally, the crybaby couldn’t even stand up to his own powers due to the disparity between a ‘God’s energy’ and a human being’s essence.
Depression, despair and absolute sorrow after lamenting on the two forced losses he’d just suffered through. Which he had unjustly suffered through, thanks to that unknown interference that caused him to blank out and lose control over his own body every single time a match began. Like somebody was far too cocky for their own good, and only though about suppressing him during each ‘round’ and then releasing control over him after the matches were over.
Were they planning to embarrass and cheat him like this?
After the three losses arrived, would Tetra say ’he overused his powers’ and cannot redo the match, or some other pitiful excuse to make the Pharaoh prodigy seem like a sore loser?
And finally...there was happiness, joy, gratitude and sheer delight in seeing the High Priestess giving him a resolute thumbs up. Now…
As the rage returned to the fore of his consciousness, a faint spiritual mark appeared on his forehead. The Ankh, the symbol that connects him to his God, Anubis, and a direct sign that a spiritual incarnation was about to take place.
A dark mist bubbled forth from his body. An especially loud and eerie ‘creak’ noise echoed throughout the stadium and pervaded directly into the minds of all present. A signal of Tetra’s impending judgment, Luxor Al Amin’s vengeance… and that mysterious individual’s doom, was about to come forth after borrowing Al Amin’s body. And through this body, an oath to deliver justice upon whoever dared to commit crimes against the young ‘host’ shall once more, be fulfilled.
The illusory sounds of the creaking gates leading directly into the underworld seemed to end in an instant, leaving behind a deathly silence, as the crowds’ only accompanying reminder to this majestic, awe inspiring presence.
A God of death, has descended upon the world of mortals.
And before anybody could even begin to register this eerie pressure…
It disappeared. And with its disappearance, the sound of three bodies could be heard collapsing to the floor.

Phantom Storm
"Have you heard, the entire Bonanno crew was brutally murdered!" Exclaimed a youth in his early teens. "What? you're lying, again!" Another similarly aged child responded with crisp denial in his tone. After all, the crew was infamous for their ruthlessness. An eery silence passed between them. Soon enough, the teens' curiosity trumped his ego, and he found himself inquiring in a meek voice. "So...Who did it?" "I heard my father talking about it while he was drunk. Guess what he said?..." The child responded, he was a natural-born storyteller. Listening intently, the other teen urged him on. "It was done by a single person. When the police arrived, the bodies were charred black, likely the work of an electro mage. Most had an arrow or two lodged in their body, and a few were even chopped into neat little slices by a sharp blade." He paused, inhaling sharply. "All the victims had shocked expressions on their faces. As if the enemy was invisible or something. That's why they call that person the Phantom Storm!" concluded the adolescent with an excited glint in his eyes. 2 CHAPTERS PER WEEK (Canada time) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] -------------------------------------------- Follow Itsuki as he is reincarnated in an unfamiliar world, left to discover where he belongs in such a place.
