Magic Weapon.

Back when I was still playing TND, magic weapons are stapled for adventurers and explorers.

The runes in the weapons represent the weapon ability, either passive ability like MAGIC CUTTER or active ability like SMASH

The ability varies from weapon to weapon, some also have the restriction for example, ability to penetrate armor PIERCE can only be used by the weapon that can pierce.

Unlike passive ability, active ability must be charged with mana first. The higher the amount of mana you supply the stronger the effect is.
