《The Divine Traits》Chapter 5: The Dungeon

-1 week later-
Jericho was settling in well with the convoy he got to know the lieutenants of the "Dungeoneers" as they called themselves since they were in the same cart as him, there was Quid the Birthmark guard who was actually really shy, Reynor who was the lead guard who was really surprising, he would never stop saying whatever was on his mind. Jericho enjoyed the company since he was alone for almost a week. Then when the week came to a close they arrived at the mouth of what looked like a cave. Jericho joined everyone at the entrance to the cave
"seems like its a wolfmen dungeon," Reynor said relaxed
"well this was a waste," Zelus said
"what's wrong with a wolfmen dungeon" Jericho questioned
"they are one of the most common and easy dungeons out there the only profit from this will be the boss core" Zelus answered
-well, that answers my question Not, what the hell is a boss core... know what I'm not even going to ask if he goes into a rant we won't get this done-
the group walked into the dungeon and was immediately assaulted by 3 bipedal wolf-like creatures
"Formations now" Zelus Called out not even in a panic
Jericho was then sent to the back of the group with 4 other guards he didn't know.
"Jericho lets test if you have magic, try and pull energy from your body and move it to your hands" Zelus stated as he casually blocked and ducked attacks from the wolfmen
Jericho tried to focus on his hands when immediately they started to glow gold, In the corner of his vision a blue screen popped up
Archaic Skillset 1/∞ unlocked Ethereal Ethereal Workshop Build any type of ethereal weapon in an instant, grade: slightly above average Ethereal Blade Dancer: combat mode While using an ethereal weapon the weapon will attack on instinct and will take over for weapon form if the user is not trained also block any attacks thrown the users way Ethereal Shift If the enemy tries to block an attack with a weapon the blades will fade through the weapon and hit the attacker

After Jericho read through the screen, 2 swords that seemed to almost be non-existent appeared in his hands and wouldn't come off, Just then a wolfman broke from the defenders and charged at Jericho, right when it was about to stab Jericho in the gut his hands seemed to move by themselves and blocked the attack, his hands then seemed to move at the speed of light repeatably stabbing the wolfmen in what seemed to be every weak point Jericho could see
*POOF*
The wolfmen fell to the ground defeated and exploded from existence leaving behind a small crystal behind
In the trees above a squirrel seemed to be laughing as he watched from his little alcove in the tree
"Um..." Jericho muttered "hah these things are so weak" Jericho gloated every eye from the "Dungeoneers" was on him
"What the fuck was that, new bearers aren't that strong" Zelus announced his temperature aura fluctuated as if even it was surprised
"um I've been trained almost all my life in swordplay" Jericho lied, He hadn't even seen a sword up until last week
"well thank fucking god for that, we might have lost you without it!! man those swords are cool seems you're a frontliner now" Zelus announced
Jericho picked up the little crystal that the wolfmen dropped it vanished without a trace, but the group didn't even notice it, but a blue screen did

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. Legend of the Guild: Point Blank
Status: On hiatus indefinitely, because I'm going to be busy and the story is now at a place where it needs major reconstruction. Curt is a young gunslinger from a small town called Ore Town, situated in a barren wasteland known as the Dusts. While sabotaging the gang threatening his town, Curt is forced to take a leap of faith, literally. He plunges into the sea of clouds expecting death, only to arrive in an entirely new world beneath his own. Saved by a young girl using magic, Curt isn't too sure what to make of his second chance of life. When he meets a fellow Duster who had fallen years ago, he's roped into becoming second-in-command of a brand new guild. Guild duties aren't easy, especially as Curt is tasked to recruit fighters to take on the Grand Guild Tournament, where the winning guild takes home an enormous prize pool -- and most importantly, a mysterious ticket to the fabled "Star City" that exists above the clouds. Going with the flow only takes him so far, and Curt soon finds himself burdened with more responsibility than he bargained for, including the fate of the two worlds. ==============================Wordpress This webnovel is written for fun, and everything posted is essentially a first draft. Beware of typos and lack of creative descriptions — my main priority is to get the story out over writing quality. Still, I hope you enjoy the story. Updates are sporadic, but I aim to release a chapter (~2000-3000 words) at least once a week. Average release time is 1 chapter/3 days. I took inspiration from the lore of the MMO, Dungeon Fighter Online (Dungeon & Fighter), and there may be easter eggs or references to the game, but the story and characters have become wholly original and standalone. [Note: Profanity tag is up because profanity is present, but infrequent]
