It was mid-day when Jenna and Jericho had the Camp set up. They had set up a makeshift doorway at the entrance of the cave with Jenna’s geomancer power.

”now what?” Jenna asked

”we need food” Jericho coldly replied as he scanned the exit of the forest clearing

”I’ll go hunt for food while you barricade yourself in the cave.” Jericho turned and said to Jenna

Jenna was about to say something as Jericho ran out of the forest clearing into the forest

A half an hour later, while Jericho was. Hunting he heard some leaves rustling behind him, Jericho materialized two swords in his hands just at the right moment, when a wave of flames started to rise towards him. A figure with a greatsword charged from out of the trees at Jericho, when the brute was in sword distance Jericho slid down to the floor and chopped with the force of both of the swords straight through the man's legs, cutting them clean off spraying blood everywhere even coloring Jerichos hair a little.

Jericho heard a high pitch scream as he slid away from the legless man, Jericho turned to see a petrified little girl, she had to be at least 4' 6 she had purple eyes, black hair, and wore a torn version of the uniform Jenna had on with blood splattered on almost all of it.

Jericho looked into her eyes and just saw pure terror, he wanted to stop, but his momentum seemed to have carried his swords with enough power to decapitate her fully, the head rolled right in front of Jericho, Jericho looked down with no emotion, nothing at all made him sad or terrified that he had just decapitated a child, but his eyes they said it all, they had the look of petrified terror and deep mourning.

-what the fuck is happening to me, why can't I fucking take control of my body!, Why can't I fucking just lay here and die, I just fucking killed a child and I can't even cry for it, what the fuck am I!!!- these were the thoughts of Jericho as he looked down on the decapitated head

As Jericho saw the screen he started to weep, he wept for the girl's death, he wept for the entire hour, after the hour he started to get up, he walked to the now dead legless man and looted his corpse, he didn't dare to look the girls corpse, even with Battle Form activated he still didn't dare to loot it or he would literally break, he found a bag of fruit and some dried meat on the man those were the only useful items he could find on him,

Jericho walked back to the cave to see Jenna sitting on a makeshift rock bed relaxing,

"Finally, where have you been!" Jenna pretty much yelled at Jericho

"here eat up" Jericho tossed the two bags to Jenna and walked to the back of the cave, not showing any emotion towards her, but inside he was screaming and weeping.

-About two days later-

Jericho had been silent for most of the 2 days that they had spent since he last went to get food, they had taken down 2 more groups that had wandered into the opening to the river, they had supplied enough food for about a week, the problem is that the groups kept on getting harder and harder to kill, as if each kill just made it harder.

"We need to move, this place isn't safe anymore" Jericho announced on the morning of the third day

"sure.... are you okay?" Jenna asked with concern coating her expression

"yeah why?" Jericho asked

"you seem depressed, you haven't talked in the past two days, and whenever you fight you seem to be somewhere else, that just doesn't seem to fit you at all, even though I've known you for like four days, it just doesn't seem right." Jenna responded

"well its just this whole damn examination, it's just scary, killing actual people... it... it's just is traumatizing..." Jericho half lied he didn't want her to find out about the battle form or his actual background, he thought it might scare her or something bad might happen to her since he didn't know what else would happen due to his race and class,

"same here, guess people just show their emotions differently, we'll make it through this, lets move out!" Jenna tried to lighten the mood up a bit

the pair started to walk out of the forest opening when an arrow flew right in between Jenna's feet, she screamed when she could see a volley of arrows falling towards them

"Shelter!" Jericho ordered

Right before the arrows fell onto them, a stone like a barrier blocked the arrows making a "PLUNK" sound

"ill take care of the archer, try to back me but stay safe inside here we don't know what his teammates power class is" Jericho said as he ran out of the safety of barrier, Jericho looked into forest, he noticed a shine of an arrow aimed at him, Jericho leaped as the arrow flew towards him, barely dodging it

"shit this is just getting harder and harder!" Jericho hissed under his breath

once Jericho landed he rushed at the archer right when he was about to plunge his phantom swords into the man's skull the man backflipped, while in the air he nocked another arrow, the arrow started to glow with an azure glow, the man was about to release the arrow right when he collided with a stone spike, destroying his forward momentum, sending him to the ground, Jericho gladly plunged the blades into the man's chest, Jericho started to loot the body when he heard Jenna's scream

Jericho charged towards the unknown threat that attacked his teammate when he managed to make into the clearing he saw what he thought a monster of a man, holding a behemoth-sized Warhammer slamming down towards Jenna...

Time seemed to slow as he watched the eventual death of his teammate before his eyes! Jericho saw red, he dematerialized one of his swords with a quick flash, he then instinctively created what looked like an ethereal set of five throwing knives, he then instantly threw the whole set at the titan of a man, all but two hit the man, with a "Plunk" then a "CRACK" the man fell, thankfully not harming Jenna in the process

Jericho now seeing Jenna safe let out a sigh of relief, out of the blue the whole world seem to shout one thing

"Examination complete! Eight out of Ten surviving teams detected! now activating protocol Homeland01!"

The world seemed to gain a tint of deep azure blue as both Jenna and Jericho started to glow with the same effect as the teleportation feathers
