《Dipp's Uncertain Adventure》Chapter 12: Aftermath

As if an icy wind blew through the room the three girls each shuttered as they stepped delicately around the bodies littering the hideout, their eyes clenched they relied on their saviour's voices for direction. The harsh night air surrounds them as they leave their old prison. Outside the doorway, unsure of where to go, they huddle for warmth. With a quick gesture from Dipp, the girls follow, the criminal's den quickly fading into the distance.
"This is the Dog's Mouth. The Innkeeper is really nice! I'm sure she'll give you a room to stay in!" He says in a cheerful voice, Pallas opens the door for them. Dipp walks in confidently, a smile on his face. Again Dipp gestures for the girls to follow, slow and uncertain they step into the inn behind Dipp. Dipp stops dead in his track as the towering dog-like Innkeeper blocked his path.
"Who are these girls?, don't think because I let your human friend in here I'll let you bring in every riff-raff you want," she says in a low voice, furrowing her brow as she spoke. Patrons turn their heads towards the mas they keep their heads down following behind.
"Please, we found these girl's locked up with some criminals. They called them merchandise! can't you help them a little?" Dipp says in a loud and determined voice. The girl's each showing their Forrest folk faces to the Innkeeper.
"Uhhh, Farr. Fine, Fine!. But, I'm not a church, so I'll make them work!. They can share a room, but they'll work to earn their keep for now!" she says while rubbing her furrowed brow.
"Yes, thank you! I knew you would help them! You're the best InnKeeper ever" Dipp says in an excited and cheerful voice, hugging the dog-women tightly. Her furrowed brow disappears, being replaced by a small but noticeable smile.

"You do know my name isn't InnKeeper, right?. It's Kelly. Okay, come with me girls I'll show you your room, tomorrow you can start work" She says in a joking tone, letting out a small giggle as she leads the girls upstairs.
The girl's gone, and the show over patrons turn back to tables. Laughter and chatter filling the air in the room.
"We should head to the room to Master Dipp. I'm sure your exhausted from your escapades tonight" Oliver says in a concerned voice as he recalls Dipps deathly battle.
"Yeah, maybe some rest will be good... come on Pallas, let's get some rest," Dipp says quietly. His body was aching from exerting himself, but the thought of sleep shook him to the core. Together the three of them made their way upstairs.
"Hey... now that I'm not um, you know. not quite alive, how does sleep work...." Pallas says in a low and quiet voice, the fear of going to sleep and never waking up chilling his body.
"Not to worry Pallas, from what I've noticed either you will find your self able to sleep or you won't. I wouldn't dwell too much on the thought you'll only find yourself worrying for nothing" Oliver says, reassuring Pallas' concerns.
A deep breath Pallas starts to head upstairs, trusting Oliver's words, his companions following close behind. A single candle flickers in the small room. Dipp and Oliver ready themselves for a nights rest. Oliver sits on the end of his bed. His hands shake as he begins to find himself lost in thought.
"I get it. We're undead. We're walking corpses but what the hell do we do now. What would the next step for undead like us even be?" Pallas says in a frustrated tone, rubbing his face, he struggles to come to terms with his new life.
"What do you mean, just like you said. Your undead, you've been given a second chance by Master Dipp. I believe this is a new chance for you to go on that adventure you always raving on about." Oliver says in a stern tone with a small smile on his face.

"huh, you could actually be onto something, if I'm ever going to find a grand adventure it'll be with the fella that can bring people back to life," Pallas says in an excited voice as he envisions a dramatic adventure alongside Dipp.
Ignoring his companions' conversation, Dipp sits alone. A small trickle of blood seeping from his hand, his brow narrows. The discussion between Pallas and Oliver crashing to a halt as the blood rises. Twisting and turning it spirals around his hand. Slow and steady it begins to form a slick and polished circle around his hand.
"That's amazing Master. it truly is remarkable how well you've come with your ability is such a short amount of time." Oliver says in a surprised voice, standing by watches his master practice in silence.
"I think I'm starting to get the hang of it a little, but it still takes a lot of focus," Dipp says slowly with his tongue sticking out as he narrowed his focus. Pallas' eyes are wide as he watches the bloody show, enticed by the elegance of the blood's movement.
"Master. Your ability truly is impressive, but you should keep into mind the drawbacks. Using your blood as a medium must come at a price. you should try to minimise the amount of your blood you use." Oliver says in a concerned voice as he worried about his Master's health. His warning falls on deaf ears as Dipp focuses harder, his curiosity expanding as he practised.
'How far could I go?' Dipp thought to himself. Slowly more and more blood began to seep out. Oliver's eyes widen as he drew more blood from his hand, gathering it together in a large sphere. No sign of fatigue or dizziness overtaking Dipp as he practised.
"Master, please be careful," Oliver says in a concerned voice, again his warning ignored. The blood sphere grows to the size of a human head before stopping. An uneasy feeling weighs heavy on Oliver, as he watched his Master toy with his blood to such a degree. Slowly the blood begins to morph, its original sphere shape no longer recognisable.
'if I can master this power maybe I can protect them, so they're never hurt again!' Dipp thinks to himself, his determination fueling his ambition to master his ability. Slowly it begins to stretch and narrow as it morphed precisely.
"What the hell..." Pallas' says in awe, all reason being thrown out the window as he watches Dipp. By the time, the blood finished morphing a thin curved sword without a guard hung in the air.
"Wow, that was trickier then I thought it was going to be," Dipp says in a tired voice as he falls back onto the bed, catching his breath. A smile on his face Pallas grips the sword's hilt. To his surprise, his hand hadn't gone through the once liquid sword hilt. Carefully he looks over the sword before swinging it with all his strength.
"Wow, to be able to make such a beautiful sword! Dipp. Your one of a kind." Pallas says in excitement as he swings the sword repeatedly into nothingness.
"You can keep it if you want. I'm not sure how my power works so guess we'll find out if it sticks around or not" Dipp says with a tired laugh, before his eye's slowly close.
"Master!."
