《Trending News (According to Narrator)》014 - Welcome to RRL 3.0 [Unofficial]

Hello and welcome RRL goers, old and new. With the release of RRL 3.0, there are issues to be found, as there are with any new system or update release. The current RRL F.A.Q. is a WIP so I hope to answer some of the most common questions about the update in this thread. Keep in mind that this has not been fully vetted by the other RRL staff at the moment of posting and I am doing this on my own time and current personal knowledge. Any corrections to be made to this document may be edited as needed by any of the RRL staff.
Let’s begin with what changed in the RRL 2.0 >> RRL 3.0 shift. There are two major changes.
The forums have been moved from the old location. Functionality remains very much the same, but you will notice that the URL now reads forum.royalroadl.com instead of royalroadl.com/forum. If you see any old forum link, simply replace the “forum” location in the URL to fix it. NOTE: This does not work for fiction links.
The fictions have been ported over into a new system, separate of the old forum BBcode and now uses full HTML formatting. While fictions are no longer hosted in the forum setting, don’t worry authors, BBcode support will remain for a time.
Little has changed in regards to the forums so the remainder of this post will focus on the fictions side of RRL in a Q/A format. Updates to be added as they come up. Q. Where is my reading list?
A. The old reading list has been replaced with your bookmarks. Your bookmarks, read later, and favorites can now be found here. Navigate through each with the appropriate tabs. Q. What happened to all my fiction comments?

A. As with the site shift away from the forum system on the fictions side, the comments have similarly been moved. Any comments you make or have made on chapter posts may now be found under the comments tab. Q. I’m an author, how does this affect me in terms of BBcode and posting?
A. The chapter posts have been formatted into a what-you-see-is-what-you-get sort of deal. Most, if not all, formatting you have in a google doc, Word doc, or other word processor document should remain when copy+pasting into your chapter submission boxes. This means that font size, font color, font formatting, hyperlinks, and the like will remain upon posting. This may cause issues with the dark theme as some authors don’t remove the font formatting, causing the text to remain black in the dark theme. As mentioned previously, the fictions site now runs on HTML but BBcode is still supported for now. It is simply converted into HTML upon posting. Q. I am still having issues with advertisements on RRL. When is this getting fixed?
A. The problem lies with the advertisement hosts at the moment. There is little we can do but be patient for the next week for it to be fixed on their end. Apologies for the inconvenience. Q. I don’t like the forum/fiction/comments/updates/etc. formatting. FIX IT!
A. One, that’s not even a question. Two, if you don’t like it, send feedback so that the Devs might make it better. Don’t forget that the active RRL staff is actually quite small and the Devs consist of Kanadaj and Curvinho. They do have a life and commitments outside of RRL so please be patient. Feedback and bug reports may be made here. Remember, if you have any feedback, issues, suggestions, or comments, posting in the appropriate forum, or sending in bug reports is very much appreciated by the RRL staff. If you have any feedback or problems, we can’t help you if you don’t say anything. Feedback and bug reports may be made here. Please be patient as our Devs work out the kinks of the site. Thank you. Sincerely,

Maroon Odyssey: Story of the survivors of a plane crash in a magical world
This is the story of a myriad group of characters who had the misfortune of being passengers on a plane that crashed in the remote mountains of a fantasy world. They now have to survive the harsh environment; find civilisation and rebuild their lives in the best way possible. A marine rifleman, a competition archer, a juvenile delinquent, an aspiring musician and a physics student with a love of the arcane are among the many individuals making their way in a new world of adventure. The story is heavily inspired by dnd style fantasy but it isn't a true litrpg. There are progression fantasy elements where characters grow in power of time. But they can't see their character sheets or assign points to attributes or classes. The story is survival focused. All the characters will struggle to grow and none will become OP.
