A name huh. I take a good long time pondering what I'll name my partner. *He grows with me so he will easily be the best thing I can summon OH I KNOW* [I'll name you Max how's that] {You really can't think of anything huh} [SHUT UP YOUR NAME IS MAX AND THAT'S THAT] Letting out a sigh he replies {Alright Alright I guess it's better than being named Wolfie or something} now that I think about it I haven't checked his stats. [Inspect] a box with info pops up on my screen.

[WOW his stats ar- wait familiar to a Dumbass WHO ARE YOU CALLING A DUMBASS YOU STUPID GOD] After around five minutes of flailing my arms around and internally cursing the god who grants titles, I decided to start examining some things.
(Mutation)
(When the Familiar gets more power the Summoner can channel some excess power into body mutations such as sharper talons or new skills)
Okay, that's overpowered why do I get the feeling I'm going to be getting carried instead of the one killing everything. [Alright listen up because I'm impatient and really really want to test these new things out we're going on a quest] {What quest than Master} [I remember seeing a goblin extermination quest yesterday hopefully it's still there] {And how many are we supposed to exterminate, are their any special types like shamans, which route will we take to get their safely}? [Err Uhm uh It doesn't matter these things usually work out on their own]. {No wonder your intelligence never rose above three}. He proceeded to roll his eyes I knew he was making fun of me. [Shut up I'm the Master here and that's that]. After Max lets out a reluctant sigh he agrees.

[Wait how are we going to get you into town]? {It's fine I'll just hide in your Shadow}. His figure starts morphing and he disappears any traces of him disappear in my shadows. [Whoa you just disappeared]. {The skill was listed in my status you should have seen it under skills}. now that I think about it I remember he had the Shadow Hide skill I probably just skimmed it or something. [Anyways, LETS GO]!
I break into a Sprint as I go towards the gate. After showing my adventurer card I go straight to the guild. *Where is it where is it HERE*. grabbing the goblin subjugation quest I head towards the counter. "HEY YOU KOBOLD". Turning my head to the source of the voice I see a small party. "Want to be our party's meatshield, we pay enough to last you till the next quest". As he says this his party starts snickering in the background. I ignore them and continue to the counter. *I know I'm no match for then now but...* evil ideas about how to put them in their place start running through my mind however I mask my intentions with a smile.
[This quest please] I say to the receptionist while slamming the piece of paper on the counter "A goblin subjugation quest eh well it's not like the guild will lose anything if we sent you to your death so why not". With that, she stamps the paper to notify that it's accepted. And now it's time to embark on my first adventure. But man is everyone I meet an Asshole or just plain inconsiderate I cant tell. And with that, I make my ways towards the gates.

Summon Imp!
Travel with a newly born demon as he grows and learns in his own world as well as in other worlds as he gets summoned again and again. Usually to die or kill for others in strange and exciting places, but it's never certain what the next one will bring. It has its perks. With each new world comes a new story with new experiences and new lessons. There is always more to see, more to learn and more to know. Maybe, someday, it will all make sense. For now he will just work hard to become stronger, to be useful and, hopefully, survive that way. A coming-of-age story, but different. Things start to slow down to a crawl. Colors blur into one another until my vision is completely white. All I can think is "Shit, not this again!" I hate being summoned. _________________________________ updates once a week until I get more time The idea for this story began in two places. One was the ridiculously rapid pace of gaining power in many novels. Both in games and in novels, I enjoy the struggle of the beginning character, why always the rush? The other was the way many monster or non-human MCs always seem to hurry to become human (again). It always felt like a cheap way to grant the character extra powers without the difficulty of writing a non-standard thought process. Thus I wanted to write the slow(ish) progression of a monster character gaining strength and intelligence, while remaining distinctly non-human. There are no stats, xp or systems, no reincarnated soul or completely formed being to start with - unless I want to make fun of those. While the MC 'evolves', the process takes months if not years to proceed step by little step. Sit down with me and imagine, what would it be like if...

HEfTY
What if everyone in the world gave you $1? That’s what Hefty, a fat and cocky 14-year-old computer hacker tries to do. He bets on Bitcoin, and becomes a millionaire. Nevertheless, it’s short lived because Hefty is under the beck and call of his BPD mom. Hefty’s mom has leukemia. After seeing his mom’s hospital bill, he goes full tilt on the internet, selling crazy things on the Dark Web, like drones, drugs, and guns. And under his nose, someone’s been watching Hefty. Before he knows it, he’s abducted by ISIS and transported to Syria. ISIS’s chief tech officer was blown apart in an airstrike. All of ISIS’s money freshly minted into Cryptocurrencies. The passcodes in his mind blew up with the airstrike. The King of ISIS, forces Hefty to find the passcodes. At gunpoint, Hefty can’t say no, but tricks the King. The King makes a deal with him: If Hefty gets the money off the server, he gets to keep his life (and 10%). Hefty agrees and sees the amount from his 10%: $1.1 Billion in BTC. Drunk with money, Hefty joins the King and naively agrees to help ISIS, and starts buying everything he’s always wanted. He still misses home though, and after a google search brings up his mom, he throws bread crumbs through the internet. He creates digital trails throughout the back end of sites he hacks so people can find him. Even though his lifestyle is fun and exciting, ISIS starts to look less inspiring. Hefty sees the cruelty of ISIS’s cause and it disillusions him from thinking the Caliphate is noble. After some ISIS friends start dying, Hefty sees that war is dumb. Hefty tells his dying friend, on his last breaths, that he is going to take down ISIS. Mistake. With his last yells, his friend tattles on Hefty. Overnight, he goes from Multimillionaire to POW. The King gives him 2 options: blow up his favorite team on a game day of the Cleveland Browns, or his mother dies. Hefty chooses his mother. Within weeks, Hefty covertly writes software to defeat ISIS, leaving enough breadcrumbs to attract the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, General Tarvish. Acting quickly, General Tarvish works to find Hefty and uncover the Brown’s Stadium plot. Hefty finds a way to bomb the stadium, using an order that the president enacted putting all combat planes: no matter where over the US, had to be fully loaded and ready for war. Tarvish didn’t plan this into his counter measure. Hefty has set up ambushes against the Caliphate of ISIS… but the joke turns on him when he forgets to delete his code, and his terror attack on Brown’s Stadium goes off. Hefty’s location goes live, and an air campaign against the Caliphate starts. The US President angrily tries to drop a nuclear bomb on Hefty and the Caliphate. Tarvish kills the President before he can order the attack. The King flees by truck into the desert, but brings his cyber weapon: Hefty. Fed up, unafraid, and frankly pissed off, Hefty grows some balls and kills everyone in the car, giving the King his just reward, and careening down a mountain in the process.
