《Heart Of A Servant》Chapter 25 : An unexpected result

With a weak voice, we heard the tier 9 Dragon say, " What have we ever done to you? I have lived in harmony with the humans of this world. What have we ever done to merit such cruelty?"
Seeing how pitiful the dragon looked, the Shadow went into a laughing fit. Slowly, a derisive smile was seen appearing on the Shadow's face. It said, " Shouldn't you accept your fate with pride now that you're on the verge of death? What is bound to happen will happen eventually, there's no reason to fight it. Your entire life has led you to this very moment. You've served your purpose in life, trust me. Now die knowing that."
As the Shadow finished its words, the dragon's body had already started disappearing in motes of light.
The shadow waved its hand and then the dragon's shadow vanished. I thought he had stored it somewhere and was wondering what he was planning to do with it.
As the motes of light converged into a white ball roughly two meters in diameter, I remembered that I had forgotten a crucial thing: Kyle's soul was only of the 1st tier.
There was no way I could split a soul so weak in two halves. The higher ranked his soul the less risk it would be for both of us.
Fortunately, I thought of an idea that would save us some time. I pushed my soul to the limit and scanned every human alive on the planet.
I cast a Greater Soul Call and every hardened rapist, murderer and thief saw their souls becoming a supplement for Kyle.
The number of souls I had called numbered in the tens of millions. Considering the fifty billion population on the planet, they wouldn't be missed.
As the Shadow feasted on the purified soul energy, its soul level kept increasing until it had reached the 5th tier also called Nascent Wraith. At that level, the soul had the qualification to fight independently of the body and possess objects and bodies of all living beings. Of course, the possession could only be possible if the possessed body's soul was weaker than Kyle.

Unfortunately, Kyle found his soul regressing to the 3rd tier after his soul was split into two.
The other part of his soul was then pushed into the two-meter tall ball of light.
Now all that was left was to wait for the clone to appear before us.
We waited for a good fifteen minutes as we watched the ball of light retracting onto itself. I was even starting to wonder if the clone would be the same height as Kyle. The reason I was wondering was that the ball of light had now reached a height of one meter and it was still retracting.
It was at that moment that the Shadow then said something that puzzled me, " You know, you're a lousy magician. You always talk about how great you are, but even you are flawed. I saw it in the future but I couldn't believe what I saw... Well, I will leave this to the two of you to handle. You've brought a disaster upon yourselves...hehehe..."
Upon saying that, the Shadow's black element in his eyes disappeared. The Seer rune also disappeared from his eyes. All that was left were the plain white pupils.
Kyle took over his body in confusion saying, " It has barely been an hour. His twelve hours aren't done yet, why is he giving me back control?"
It was my turn to ask, "What did he see in the future? Quick, tell me!" To be able to talk to him, I had already brought the ring close to him.
He looked at me in confusion as he said, "I can't see what he sees in the future, that power belongs to him since he acquired it from his mastery over shadows...and he seems to be able to tap into another kind of energy that doesn't seem to be soul energy to be able to see the future. That's all I know."

Seeing that I would never get to know the specifics of the kind of disaster I had brought upon us, I turned to the ball of light that had now reached a height of fifty centimetres.
It wasn't long until we started hearing gentle low noises coming from the ball of light.
My vast knowledge told me that those noises sounded like the murmurs of a...
"Heavens...it's a baby," I said in horror.

Drinker of the Yew: A Necromancer's Tale
Updates Once a Week next update 10/5 Wracked with misfortune, a nameless village along the edge of the Gray Spine rejoiced at the arrival of a paladin. Those celebrations, though, turned to wary tension as the paladin brought an unknown into their midst - his wife Nayinis, who wears the markings of a necromancer. Who is this woman? Why has she come to their village? Nayinis divulges her shadowed past, for she needs the village's trust to defeat the powerful foe that she has been summoned by the divine to face. What to expect: This is a slow-paced, dark, epic-fantasy book written mostly in an archaic first-person style, remniscent of fariy-tale at times. I am expecting the final product to be close to 600-700 pages. The first few chapters introduce a somewhat-steep learning curve of names and mythology of the world that plateaus at aroud chapter 5.
