《My Incorrect Summoning Has Me On The Run》Prologue: The Calm? Before the Storm

They are nothing but pathetic humans. I should be feeling their severed heads in the palms of my hands right now.
“You can’t do that. It isn’t right.”
The strong devour the weak. It’s how the world operates, always has always will.
“Where I’m from it’s not the physically strong that devour the weak.”
This isn’t your world now is it, little one.
“That may be true, but I will always hold my values close to my heart.”
That may be true for now, but we shall see how much this world will twist your ideals.
“I have already been through so much, what else could it possibly take from me?”
More than you can possibly imagine. You just arrived in this world a short while ago. You have yet to see what this cruel world can truly do.
“I have nothing, and no one. The whole kingdom is against me, and yet you say I still have worse to come. I fail to comprehend your reasoning.”
You do not have power like I. I can see things that others cannot.
“So you’re telling me you can see into the future?”
Of sorts.
“Wow. That helps sooo much.”
Even in the face of true despair and evil you don’t cower, you don’t even feel scared.
“I guess you’re not as omnipotent as you think. I’m scared shitliss right now man, but how would that help me right now if I let that overtake me.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I think this will work out just fine, oh little one.
“Can you stop calling me little one, it’s freaking me out. Just call me by name. Call me Phobius.”
POV: Phobius Barnes
11th grade, the point where if you don’t know what you are doing with your life yet, you are royally screwed. Where maturity and childness merge together for some, but others are on one side. What a weird grade. You can have two people who are the same age, act like they are 8 years apart. This is why I don’t go out of my way to talk to people, too much of a hassle. Humans are too much of a pain to deal with, and that includes myself. I’ve been told that I’m a very pessimistic person, but I prefer to look at it as I’m a realist. It’s not my fault everywhere you look in the world is filled mainly with sadness and pain. The world we call Earth is filled with too much for the ordinary joe to handle, that’s why the majority of people look the other way when it comes to things they don’t want to see. That selfishness from the human race, is why you never know who you can trust, because when you trust someone, it almost always comes back to bite you in the ass.

“How did you do on the test, Apollo?”
“I’m not sure, probably average.”
“I bet you’re going to get number one again, Apollo!”
Apollo, resident pretty boy of our school. Great grades, great at sports, and always has a harem around him no matter what. One would think that this would make the other guys jealous at school, but somehow his charisma seems to be maxed out, because even all the guys love him. I swear that guy has hacks on, it doesn’t make any sense. Thankfully it doesn’t affect me at all, he is just this anomaly subject that I observe from time to time. I get to stay out of this strange world they are all in, except for when
“Hey there, Phobius!” She shows up. Lifting my head from the table, I see Agatha staring down at me. That same strange smile on her face, everytime she talks to me. I don’t see her put that smile on anywhere else, well from what I have observed, which isn’t much when it comes to her. I actively try to avoid making eye contact with her, as when we do she always makes an excuse to talk to me later. By herself that wouldn’t be a problem, but Agatha is something of an anomaly herself. Wherever she goes people follow as well, male and female. There is nothing worse than being around a group of people, especially when you're the topic of the conversation.
“What do you want, Agatha?”
“Ouch, right in the heart as always.” Dramatically acting like she got shot in the chest, I could tell people were starting to take attention to her talking to me.
“Don’t you have anything better to do during lunch than talking to me?” Based on the past observations I’ve made, she shouldn’t be in the cafeteria right now. Agatha and her little fan club typically hang out at the field or bleachers. Now that I am actually looking around, there are a lot more people in the cafeteria than usual.
“Well.” She started, taking a seat next to me. “Midterms are a real pain so the air conditioner in here is better than the heat out there.” She had such a good excuse this time, I clicked my tongue unconsciously.
“That’s a decent excuse, I guess.” I sighed, seeing that a group of people that typically hang out with Agatha were starting to stand up. “Welp, good talk Agatha. I’ll see you later.”

“It hasn’t even been a minute yet. You can at least give me that, plus I’ve told you before, call me Aggie.”
“Well, Agatha.” She audibly sighed at that. “I’m just gonna rest here, so how about you take your possy somewhere else.
“Possy? What do you mea-” Before she even finished her question, said possy arrived. 4 in the group was manageable but I knew that he was gonna show up eventually.
“Hey Aggie!” Possy 1 exclaimed. “Whatcha doin?” Even with my head down on the table in my arms, I could still tell he was a little annoyed. Why wouldn’t he though? Agatha is one of the more popular girls in the school. I guess it’s because people find her attractive or something. Someone who keeps trying to talk to you even when you give obvious hints you don’t want to, isn’t that attractive.
“Just talking.” She replied casually, her tone of voice seeming to shift a little. Maybe it’s just my imagination.
“I’m assuming that's depressing little P there.” Possy number 2, chimed in. I have no idea when that nickname P started happening, but it’s obviously there to belittle me. Why do people want to belittle someone who just wants to be left alone, you ask. It’s obvious, to help their fragile little egos. Making yourself feel better by putting others down has always been there in humanity, whether it be by strength at first, or now when it comes to popularity in school. Thos anti-bullying posters are doing great work, administration.
“And if it is?” Agatha’s tone of voice was getting harsher. In these situations hearing her like that almost makes me happy, but then I remind myself it’s because of her that I’m in this situation.
“Don’t know why you bother with the guy?” Possy 3 enters left stage. “He’s just a small pessimistic ball.”
“He’s taller than you, you know?” Agatha retorted. Everyone likes to call me small, but when it comes down to it, I’m taller than the majority of the students. Being 6 foot in 11th grade isn’t too common. Of course there are still some taller than me in our school, but only one or two of them like to make comments about me. Majority of the students at the school just look at me from time to time, whispering occasionally. It’s only the fan club that Agatha has that actually talks to me, or next to me in most cases.
“Hey, what’s going on guys?” Oh great, I hate when I’m right. Enter the star of the show, Apollo and whenever he shows up, his harem does as well. Just like that I went from enjoying my alone time, to having roughly 10 people crowding around me. I exhaled through my nose, somehow louder than intended because out of the corner of my eye, I could see Agatha turn to look at me. I couldn’t tell if she was giving me an apologetic look or a pity look.
“Nothin much, just seeing what Agatha was doing.” Possy number 4 finally chimed in.
“Ah I see.” Apollo exclaimed. I could never get a good read on the guy, if it was jealousy or confusion, or something else. His facial expressions always seemed to be two sided. I always wondered if Agatha knew this because she seemed to act a little different around him then me. Even though he was the shining star of the school, she seemed to act a little more distant to him.
“Actually, I was just about to head to class.” Agatha chimed in, grabbing her bag that she set down, less than a minute ago.
“I’ll head with you.” Apollo instantly responded.
“Alright.” Was all that Agatha gave him before saying one last thing to me. “I’ll see you in class, Phobius.” Her smile seemed genuine when I sneaked a peek but who can tell with kids our age.
“Yeah, later P.” A couple of student’s started to say in various ways, all in condescending tones. Between all of the insults, I thought I heard a sigh coming from Agatha. Maybe, I really am just full of myself, like some say.
After a couple minutes passed, I finally looked up again and saw that it was almost time for class, so picking up my bag I headed to class. Not knowing the fate that was about to befall me.
