《Repeat》34. Welcome to Demon’s Realm

It would be nice if you would point out the mistakes. Thanks
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We ended up with Reis’s plan. Now that I think about it, her plan is not so bad. I guess Ariana and I was too eager to take revenge and Kurua also too eager to fight. Ariana took Nevi back to her place to give her a proper burial.
She can’t take all of us with her because a displacement magic is one of the highest magic a wizard could master. Gate of the world is a machine created by using the displacement magic as the base. The one came with gate of the world is the angels. They said it’s a gift for the world. Yeah, right. Gift for the world my ass. They wanted to show the world that they could make a machine at par with the highest displacement magic. They wanted the world to see that they could mass produce it anytime. So, a high grand kill magic machine is nothing for them to create.
It’s been a week since we left Sairkhan and right now, we’ve arrived at High Port. By using the Keeper and the Perfect Role Play, I could easily get the picture of the whole city. As all of them died inside the Keeper, the Perfect Role Play takes me as the killer. So, all of their memories are flowing endlessly into me. By using their memory, especially the memory of the king’s man, I get the inside of the castle picture. By that, I could locate all of their treasure, weapon, vehicle, etc. I moved everything that I deemed as useful to my castle and left the rest in the city. I did all of it inside the Keeper. By using my curse of perfect memory, this is just a child play for me.
We travelled by using the carriage that we used from the Loos Port then we changed into our mana carriage. When we arrived, we got checked by the High Port security. Apparently, news of the missing Sairkhan has reached this place. Fortunately, we changed the carriage with our mana carriage way before we reached the city, so their suspicious toward us is not at troublesome level.
To put the suspicion level as low as possible, we decided not to take out any weapon. As Reis, Eri, and Kurua fight barehanded and Xiel can transform anything into her weapon, the only one that really goes without a weapon is me. If we get caught in a mess, I have to improvise somehow to make sure my identity not being found out.
Nothing troublesome in our way to this place. Erfia, Eri, and Reis continued their dance lesson. I taught some new trick, magic, and weapon use to Xiel. It will help her to guard Erfia for a while. Kurua took the job for preparing the meal. Sometimes, we got ambushed by bandits but when Xiel put her mask and mention she’s Mada the Great Raider, the bandits let us go.
The ship used from High Port to Sil’an Port is not too different from the one used in Grouse Port. We reached Sil’an port in a few hours. No pirates in this strait as the government of Demon’s Realm do a frequent sweep.
“Dad, what is this place?” Erfia asked in awe as we reach Sil’an Port.
“Wow, that’s something entirely different.” Reis also comments about the place.
As the others react normally, I can guess Erfia and Reis are the only ones that just see this place.
“Welcome to Demon’s Realm. The house of alchemy and steam powered engines.” I say to them.
This place is rather different from Ma Continent and Alia Continent. While both continents are pretty much like some hi-tech medieval age, this place more like a steampunk continent. All the cities in the Demon’s Realm are like this.
You can see smokes is rising out of some tower. A high tower with a big clock in standing in the middle of the city. The building is using a shining metal for its material like in the Ul Thadur. Not much of a car because the government of Demon’s Realm forbid the use of a private vehicle. As such, they will force the visitor that came from outside of Demon’s Realm to sell their vehicle with reasonable price. My mana carriage was no exception. If you look into the sky, you can see one or two airships. An airship only used for VIP.
Sil’an Port is also a city, and it’s governed by Leviathan the Envy. It is better for us to avoid attention starting from now.
An airship on the sky is not something usual. It’s only happen in a very important occasion. We better leave this city immediately.
“C’mon, we need to get to the train.” I take them with me.
I’ve come a few times to Demon’s Realm to gather some info about relict and God Items. So, I know this place well. All of them follow me in silence. Fortunately the train station and the harbor are not so far. They made it so that it is easier to move the goods from the ship to the trains.
I’ve taken some pouch of diamond chips since we’re on the ship. Normally, people trade with gold or silver coin. But Demon’s Realm and Angel’s Realm is different. Demon’s Realm trade with diamond chips Angel’s Realm trade with light matter. But that’s not too important as I got tons of diamond chips in the Keeper.
Reis and Erfia is keep looking at every place. Even they’re looking at me while I buy us some ticket for us to ride the train.
“What is it you’re buying?” Reis asks me.
“Are you new to this thing?” the attendant ask her.
The attendant is a demon with red gleam eyes, long hand, and some fang coming out of his mouth. He’s still wearing uniform despite his appearance.
“Yeah, this is their first time coming to Demon’s Realm.” I answer his question.
“Ow, then welcome to Demon’s Realm. We hope you enjoy your trip and have a nice business.” The attendant smile and wave as we left.
I entered this place by using a business reason. They thought I’m the buyer since I got no goods with me but got tons of diamond chips.
We ride the train that heading directly to Markozias. I bought us some ticket for 2 bedrooms. Each room for three persons. Erfia and Reis with me. We can see the mountain in the windows in the west of this train. The room itself has a small table in the middle of it with 2 bunk beds on each side. The table has some teapot with small heater below it. There're some tea, coffee, sugar, and cream in the table too. The heater turned on by flowing small amount of mana into it. And then the heater will stay hot without the necessity of continuous mana supply.
The train is also a steam powered train. But their steam machine is a lot more efficient than on earth. They used mana crystals to create the fire. Mana inside the crystal ignited by using magic. Demons used the mana to create heat out of the crystal and it acts as the heater. Mana is an all purpose energy, so demons used it in different ways. And unlike conventional carriage, this train travels a lot faster. The distance between Sil’an Port and Markozias is nearly twice the distance of Sairkhan to High Port. But by using train, we only travel for 4 days.
I explain all of those things to Erfia and Reis.
“But dad, if they’re using the mana crystal, then it means people in this place are like you? They have no mana?”
“No, they’re not like me. Alchemy is another form of magic. Alchemy uses a lot of symbols to transform things into another things. It’s similar to magic circle or sigil. But alchemy adds more science than normal magic which mostly uses the person’s imagination. And also, alchemy doesn’t need an incantation.”
“So, are you saying people in Demon’s Realms think more logically?” Reis adds another question.
“Yes, demon race are talented at those things. And they create a much more efficient magic and some better quality goods.” I add another explanation. “Say, people that change iron into weapon by using magic normally just use their imagination. This thing makes the quality of the goods varies according to the creator imagination. So, normal people would go with manually hand forged weapon. But demons know the right chemistry, composition, heat needed, etc. They could change the iron into a better weapon and the quality mostly depend on the ingredients. Some tweak in the process could change the quality too but in this place, ingredients are the most important thing.”
As I said, the demon are talented at these things. When a person like Xiel exists, half elf and half demon, that person could create the best and the most efficient magic. She could be the best sage or the best blacksmith in the world.
~knock knock~
“Excuse me, we’re from the government official would like to do some routine check.” A voice rises from the door.
The voice makes Reis on her guard. I stick my hand to her. Giving her a signal to calm down.
I stand and open the door. Three men demons are standing in front of the door. They had red skin with some of their cheek bone coming out of their flesh and yellow eyes likes a snake. They wear a uniform of military jacket and long pants of red with black color. Each of them holds a gun and a sword in their waist.
“Yes sir.” I greet them. “This is our tickets and ID cards. The little girl has no ID card yet as she’s still 9.”
I give them the ID card I created on the way from Sairkhan to High Port. I give Kurua theirs and I got mine and Reis’s. Therion need a new name as her name is pretty specific name. I gave her Eri as her ID card name.
They look into Erfia and then looked into me and Reis.
“Say, both of you are not husband and wife right?” The officer asks me.
“No, we’re not. The little girl is my foster daughter by the way.”
After I said it, the officer gives me back our ID card.
“Thank you for your cooperation. We’re sorry for disturbing you. Have a nice trip.”
The officers walk away after he said those words. As our room is checked after Kurua’s room, I can guess it goes smoothly for them too. I close the door and lock it.
“Demon’s Realm choose to use the train rather than the gate of the world because the security is better. Just like that, they will check every passenger everyday. And if something off, they could easily capture the suspicious person. The train also acts as an isolation device. You can’t escape from this train without being heavily injured or even die. In each train, there at least six officers like them with three words title and one two word title as their leader.” I add another reason. “And also, they don’t like to use something of Angel’s invention.”
Reis and Erfia nod in unison. I take off my jacket and put it in the hanger behind the door.
“I put our ID cards in this pocket in case they come while I’m not around. Okay?”
“Okay.” Erfia and Reis answer me in unison.
They really like to do it, eh.
~~~
It’s been 2 days since we board the train. In a few moments, we should pass at Aeshma. Aeshma is one of the two biggest cities in the Demon’s Realm. It’s governed by Satan the Wrath.
Now we’re having breakfast in the dine section of this train. All six of us sit in two tables. Unlike in the main continent, Demon’s Realm don’t have any discrimination of race. That’s because they simply think they’re better than another race and think of us as lower being or some animal. But they’re not so stupid to treat the other race badly. They still hold the principle even lower being could bring misfortune if they act badly toward them. Well, simply said it’s like they’re human and we’re wild animal. They won’t treat us badly but they think lower of us. But sure, some scum still exist out there.
“Dear passenger, we’re sorry to inform you that currently the railway to Markozias is unable to use due to unforeseen circumstance until further notice. For the inconvenience, we will provide you with a hotel to stay at night.”
As the speaker announces it, a lot of people complains even some stands and ask the attendant about it.
“Mada, is this normal?” Kurua asks me from my behind.
Both of us sit back to back and I can feel he talks to me without turning his back to me.
“No,” I answer him. “Unforeseen circumstance is not something that this place would say. Normally they would say about rail trouble, locomotive trouble, or something else. But for unforeseen circumstance,”
“It seems he’s already aware of us.”

The Ancient Core: A Progression Fantasy
The title of [The Ancient One] is bestowed upon an unassuming, forgotten Core. Hidden deep underground, it lies in wait, biding its time as it learns the rules of its surroundings. Roaming beasts and unknown threats surely threaten the little rock as it sticks to the darkness, its one true refuge. This is a slow-burning Dungeon-Core fiction with a LitRPG-System. You can expect an extreme amount of kingdom-building, an more in-depth Mana-System, and a Evolution-System. Chapters are between the length of 2-4k words, though the first 50 will likely be closer to 4k. Anything after will have the average be 2.5k. I personally like explaining how things work a lot, so do have that in mind if you decide to read this fiction. Just a Rock
There was once a writer that felt like creating a story about a rock. A rock so amazing that its story just needed to be told. How amazing? Not amazing at all, on the contrary, quite ordinary. Don't believe me? Then read on. Edit: Resumed the story. Can’t do any more audio versions for now. I plan on editing some of the now non-applicable author notes and maybe rearranging the two side stories or combining them with the deleted chapters.
