《I died so the main protagonist can have character development, but I got reincarnated to another world - Light Novel》Chapter 7 One step ahead

The building that we are on was a shopping complex. Rich with clothes, magic hardware, restaurant, theaters, banks, service stations, and many more. My first impression of this world was the improved version of my old ones.
We watched Lily entered the building. She walked towards us. Then, She asked, “So, what’s your plan?”
“Can I go now because I don’t want my family to be worried,” Kain interrupted Lily. His eyes drifted from left to right.
“Oh my god!!” Lily screamed in enthusiasm. Then, she hugged him while rubbing her cheek with his.
She said, “You're so cute!”
Kain’s face blushed. He noticed me looking at him and instantly pushed Lily away, “I-I’m s-sorry,”
“Oh?” she stared at him, with a menacing aura, “What a shy boy you are, kukuku.”
Is she one of the reincarnated demon lords? Anyways, time was running out, and it was no time to play games.
I interrupted Lily’s shenanigans, “Oi! Cut it out, will you. We have a situation here.”
“Did I sense a bit of jealousy from you? Kukuku,” She ribbed as she put her hand on her mouth while looking at me.
“Oi, Lily, stop it,” I told her. She could become a big problem in the future.
I asked Kain, “Kain, where your parents at?”
“They’re probably inside the building looking for me. I was with them when it happens,” he told us, “That’s why I want to go to them and saved them.”
This kid was genuinely a good person. It was a good thing to have someone to protect. But he couldn't be selfish and save one person only and let others die in vain. I needed to convince him that it was not a good idea to let others live while the other dies.
“I know, but we can’t be selfish here. we need to save everyone.” I continued, “Right now, you have the power not only to save your family but everyone inside this building.”
I kneeled in front of him. Kain looked down on the floor, and I patted his head. My hand passed through his head. Awkward.
I let out a small breath and continued, “Don’t worry, you can trust me.”
“Not to be rude, but you said, Kain won’t like this plan,” Lily raised her hand.
Kain looked at me with worried and said, “Will I get hurt?”

“No!” I continued, “But.”
“But!?” They both looked at me with a concerned expression.
“You’ll get in trouble with the authorities and your family, but it will save everyone,” I told them.
The plan was to have Kain pulled the fire alarm inside the building. Then, when the alarm rang. Lily will scream frantically and loud. She might also add a bit of panic in her voice if she wanted to. I called this plan A.
The real problem was what comes after that. The security guard would go after him and asked why he did it and where his family was.
Plan B was to have Lily tricking the security guards, using one of her abilities. She would control the security guard's action. The security guard would announce that the building would be close due to a particular problem. Lily would have to make up that herself. Hopefully, she agreed with it.
“I kind of had a bad feeling about this,” Lily told us.
She looked at me with a deadpan expression. Lily was giving me the impression of not following plan B.
“So, what’s your plan?” Lily said.
She swayed her head left and right. Probably as a sign, she won't follow plan B.
I explained to them my plan and what would happen to Kain after it works. If it worked, they looked at me in disgust.
“I know, I know, my plan kind of sucks, but trust me, it will work,” I reassured them.
“Are you sure you want to do this, Kain?” Lily asked him.
Kain took a while before responding to her question, “Is this the only option you can think of?”
“There was a plan involving Lily, but I think she won’t even agree to it,” I reasoned with him.
“Yup, I don’t want to. Sorry, Kain, I guess you’re on your own,” She smiled. Lily patted his head.
I knew it. She didn't want to follow plan B. Why do I have to be stuck with her?
Oh, wait, I know because I agreed to her father that I would look after her. I shook my head. I felt an intense stare as I looked at Lily. Probably she read my mind about it.
“Hey, is she always like this?” Kain sent me a thought. He learned the abilities much faster now.
“We’ve just met, so I don’t know her very much,” I sent him my thought as a response to his. I added, “Also, she can read our minds.”

“Huh?” Kain gasped.
“Yup, I can read your mind,” Lily smiled menacingly.
“Eh!” he gasped. I could feel his wariness build inside him.
“Lily, stop bullied the kid, and focus you two,” I said. After that, I looked at Kain, “So? Are sure you want to do this?”
“If this the only way. Then I don’t have any much choice,” he told me.
“Good, now let’s get to work,” I ordered them.
Kain and I headed towards the fire alarm system near the restroom. The alarm was the shape of a half-cylinder mounted on the wall. The alarm call point was slightly lower, encased in a glass. Kain only needed to break the glass and push the button.
We stood beside the alarm system. I looked at Lily and saw her walking toward a decorative tree. She stood beside it. Lily looked at us, and we nodded at each other. Kain pulled the alarm, and it rang.
The alarm flashed red, and the whole lights inside the building turned red. The big screen inside the building showed an alert text.
The text read, “All Customer please calmly exits the building. Follow the personnel in charge, and they will lead you to safety.”
“Fire! Fire! There’s a fire!” Lily screamed and acted panic.
Nice act for a deity. Eh, no. Chubs were the word I was searching for. I giggled. She glared at me, and I could feel her anger.
The crowd began to scream and panic and rushed outside the building. The person in charge seems to be in trouble getting the customer to remain calm. I felt sorry for that person, but this was all part of their safety.
Kain and I joined the crowd as we exited the building. We met Lily outside the building.
“That went smoothly, than expected,” I told them.
“Yeah, it did, but I kind of feel a bit embarrassed when I shouted,” She put both of her palms on her cheeks and pushed it.
“I thought I’ll get in trouble,” Kain let out a sigh of relief.
Moments later, his mother showed up along with his family and rushed straight to him. She hugged him, and I could feel her breast pushed me for some unknown reason.
Is the possession taking effect on me?
The mother pulled away from us and started asking Kain, “Where did you go, young man?”
“Er….,” he hesitated.
His eyes rolled away from his mother's gaze and looked at me. He sent me a thought, “Hey… can you… uh… help me… with… this?”
“Just tell her, you’re at the toilet,” I told him.
Kain looked at his mother and said, “I….. Toilet,”
“Huh? Are hiding something?” his mom asked.
“N-No,” he stuttered.
I looked at Lily and noticed she was looking in the direction of the entrance. I turned my head and saw a group of security guards walked towards us.
Oh no, I thought we escape trouble.
Kain averted his eyes towards the group of security guards before facing me with a worried expression.
"This is bad." Kain sent me his thought.
The group appeared in front of us, and a guard started asking questions to Kain’s mother, “Is this your son?”
“Yes. This is my son, and why are you looking for him?” she said.
“I need you and your son to come with us and discuss what he’d done,” he told her.
“No!” She quickly pulled Kain to get behind her.
I wished my mother would do me like that when I get threatened.
She continued, “I won’t go anywhere until you tell me. What did my son do!”
The security guard sighed and explained what Kain did, “Your son just pulled the alarm and cause mass panic.”
Lily slowly backs away while we were in trouble. Worthless. Worthless. Kain’s thought the same. Huh? Great minds do think alike.
“But, didn’t a fire start?” Kain’s father interrupted.
The security guard continued his explanation, “There was no fire, and it was a false alarm done by your son.”
Both of Kain’s parents glared at him. Kain began to tremble, and for some reason, I feel the same too.
“Hey, do you have any idea on how to get out of this?” Kain sent me his thought.
Before I could tell anything, we heard a scream. A building exploded near us. The crowd around us started to scream and ran off from the explosion.

Fortuna Verto
A girl’s luck changes when her world changes upon itself, sending her back and forth between a world she knows and another that shouldn’t even exist. Working with her parallel self from that other world, the two must adjust to their alternate form when visiting the other’s world, as they search for a way to escape the chains of misfortune they are bound to. While this story is the conclusion of the trilogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, as the world of Celese itself is no longer a place the characters will be journeying through. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for all previous books, in case that matters to anyone. This book has an additional chapter after the final chapter that represents the trilogy conclusion, and should not be read until all three books are read first. Fortuna Verto continues the events of Essentia Animus to advance society into a sci-fi interpretation of Celese, bringing events to a distant world of another star. At the same time, events interpret a real-world advancement into a similar sci-fi age of another planet that shares Earth’s galaxy, a planet that has also been linked by the Celesi Veil. English remains predominant in both worlds of the story, but the presence of both sides makes certain Aethyx terms stand out, while Earth-styled scientific terms will also stand in a powerful contrast. Instrumentation remains an important aspect of the Elemental Era, but the influence of the gift has grown distant after discovering the superiority of the elements. Harnessing the elements had eliminated some of the original limitations of instrumentation, allowing for a self-sustaining focal source that provides solutions to problems such as automation. This turns the development available from the previous modern-day sense of a fantasy to one that is deep-future. Finally, opening access to the passage across the veil will open this progress in comparison to a very similar deep-future parallel world without such fantasy elements, contrasting the laws of physics with the laws of elements in a convergence of time and space.
