Alphine’s eyes widen when he heard the voice of the little girl “Oh shit, does that mean other people might still be here?” he thought before looking back to the child, now approaching him. As the child was coming closer the light from the window coated the childlike figure. The messy haired boy could now notice some specific features of the child like they’re dirty pink hair, their yellow eye’s and their pale skin.
“Oh shit this looks bad, I need to come up with an excuse for looking around her house.” he thought, The boy looked over to a wall before beginning to pat it “well good to see your walls are working! I’ll get goin-” he said in a confident tone before being interrupted by the child. Alphine felt his head get smacked “That’s for throwing my book” the girl said in monotone. The boy rubbed his head “ouch…that hurt.”

“It supposed too…” she said in the same dead tone while walking over to pick up the recently thrown book before walking back and placing it on the shelf, “So what brings you to this town?” she asked before sitting down in front of the red eyed boy. “Oh you know…starvation, hopes of finding a place to sleep that isn’t the grass.” Alphine replied with his hands behind his head.
The pink haired girl raised an eye “So you thought that the best place to find food is a ruin of a village?” she asked in a dead yet still fairly sarcastic tone, “Look, at the time me and my friend didn’t really think about it, seeing as I was bitten by crab roots when trying to forage around the forest.” Alphine replied in a defensive tone with his hands crossed and his head looking away from the child.

“Wait…why are you here! Shouldn’t you be around your parents, you know like kids do” The messy haired human exclaimed pointing a finger at the husk of a human that was the child “well…I don’t know about you but I’m not a fan of hanging around the dirt…also this is my home.” The child replied giving a small chuckle at their own dark joke. “Oh…shit this is really awkward.” The human boy thought to himself “I should probably change the topic.” he added.
Alphine rubbed the back of his head “So what do you do around here?…I see you have a lot of books.” the short human asked hoping nay praying that the little girl won’t call him out on his attempt to escape the awkwardness. “Oh you know, bury dead people…clean the house, but enough about me you mentioned a friend right…take me to them.” replied the little girl staring into the messy haired boy’s eyes.
“Oh shit I mentioned Alvar by accident…I guess it’s too late to lie.” Alphine realised before he stood up and gestured the child to follow him. The two stepped out of the little girl’s ruin of a house and began walking towards the ruin of a house that Alvar and him stayed at. The red eyed human walked inside of the pretty empty room that was his and the elfs sleeping area “don’t steal anything.” he chuckled.
“Look who’s talking…anyway where’s your friend?” she asked looking around the room. “He was here a minute ago, he’s probably out gathering food, we’re running low on crab roots.” replied the Messy haired human now sitting on the floor “he should be back soon, so what happened to the town?” he asked.
The little girl sat down on the floor before opening her mouth “Too make a long story short, a few years ago this was just a village like any other, however there was a cult of people that wanted to spread their quote on quote enlightenment all over the world but this enlightenment forced everybody to avoid the moon like the plague as well as donate most of anything the village produced to the cult, needless to say the village refused the teachings of the cult, this angered the leader so he decided to destroy the village as well as kill everyone in it.” explained the pink haired child while looking down at the floor.

Alphine rubbed the back of his head “So what’s up with the church looking building? it looked pretty bad” he asked, looking over to the yellow eyed girl. “Most villages have small buildings for smaller gods they worship, this one had a church for the god of fertile land however the cult denied any god that wasn’t related to what they believed in, but to be honest the building ended up as a place were friends got together…so I never really went” she replied in the oh so common by now monotone.
“Somehow that doesn’t surprise me…” The messy haired boy said to himself “I do feel bad for her…” he added, “hey you wanna be friends?” replied the young human. The child looked at him “Not really…I mean don’t take it the wrong way but I don’t know you and the first time we met was when you where checking the walls.” replied the child with the same dead stare.
“WAS THERE A RIGHT WAY TO TAKE IT!” Alphine thought to himself while trying to keep his tears back, “Are…you crying?” the child asked while looking at the human boy cover his face. “n- NO,GO TO YOUR ROOM!” yelled the red eyed child “I don’t have a room…” replied the pink haired girl staring at the boy now laying face first on the ground.
While laying on the ground the human boy suddenly felt a hand pat his head “There there, I’m sure there’s people out there that think you aren’t a creep…” said the child in the same lifeless tone. “This child is trying to pity me,” he said to himself. Now around the ruins of the town Alvar was walking back to the ruin Alphine and him stayed at, he looked down to his stomach “I don’t think the few small herbs I found are going to be able to feed us.”
Alvar's attention was grabbed by the sound of hissing, he quickly sprinted over to where the sound was coming from, his eyes widen when he saw a bark snake hopping in and out of the dirt to reach a nearby tree. Without hesitation the blueish skinned elf tackled the bark snake as soon as it jumped out of the ground. After a few minutes the dark haired elf was victorious.
He was slowly breathing through his nose while walking back home he had a happy smile on his face, as he came closer to the ruin he heard noises from the house Alphine and he was staying at, he ran up towards the door before swinging it open only to see his human friend sobbing on the floor while a little girl was patting him on the head, she turned her head to him before waving.
“Hello” said the dirty pink haired girl.
